  1. I really, really just want Hearts and Partick relegated. It's the first thing I think of when I wake up in the morning and the last thing I think of at night.

  3. This. End thread. Wait, no - this applauding the NHS virtue signalling will continue indefinitely. After an initial show of "rewarding" its staff and increasing funding, overall NHS spending will have decreased by the next election. All the fuds applauding will still vote the Tories back in.

  4. The likes of bonnyton are currently higher than Talbot in the pyramid, and yet again talbot fans trying to dictate who should or shouldn’t be in the league. Outside of Auchinleck your club is nothing special regardless of how many times you show us your medals.

  5. Some incredibly stupid and short-sighted people run football clubs at this level. Maybe all levels, in fact!

  6. The more this drags on, the more I quite like the idea of keeping things as they are. All of this restructuring mess just to benefit Hearts is ridiculous. Call the end to the Premier League and relegate Hearts and replace with Dundee United. Thistle down from the Championship and Raith up. Stranraer down and replaced by Cove. If possible, why not have a play off system before the league starts with Kelty v Brora and the winner plays Brechin. All squads will be different but that’s just the way it goes. Leagues of 14 look terrible and why should more clubs be punished just to appease a terrible Hearts team?

  7. Am I allowed to get just a little bit depressed that, outwith the usual point-scoring, banter and ill-informed statements on here, it's only the senior posters like Jacksgranda, Granny Danger and myself who are actually fucking angry at what's happened, is happening and will happen? I mean deep down, raging, furious at what this government are being allowed to get away with? Yes, allowed. This country actually elected a Government who had been proved to enact policies which killed its poorest citizens, and now seem surprised that they're really not that good at keeping people alive. Look around you, folks. you're probably never more than ten metres from some idiot who thought this shower of incompetents were the best option. (Yes, I know that Scotland can hold its head high to an extent, but there's still more of the vermin up there than there should be.)

  10. This isnt the Brexit referendum where Yes and No votes have the same weight. It was members of a club voting FOR a resolution, and each of the divisions had a previously specified number of votes required to carry the vote. At the point Cormack was called (and Cormack had actually asked to be called on a related issue, see @Dons_1988post below) the arithmetic was clear and Aberdeens vote was irrelevant and had no impact on the result for the Premiership - it had already reached the required 9 votes - which was what Cormack was told. Only simpletons cant understand this - only people with vested interests decide not to understand this. Correct

  11. An update - God sent his angels to accompany my mother home on 18th April. Her abbreviated cremation service took place this afternoon limited to ten mourners. Glad that I made it back to say my goodbyes to her in person. Being locked down overseas while her funeral took place doesn't even bear contemplation. Hope God gives her the heaven she deserves. Sincerely wish that as many fellow posters as possible are spared the trauma of losing a loved one under the current restrictions.

  14. So much for a brave new dawn and a level playing field. The old Junior mindset of a few clubs souring the milk so they get their way as usual. Fear of not having the upper hand.

  15. You can add me to that list. I despise the Tories and all they stand for. The way they've handled this virus just compounds what I already know. I would herd them all onto a boat and sink it in the middle of the Atlantic. Is that angry enough for you? There is no place for the Tory ethos in a forward thinking, caring society.

  19. Its despicable stuff, pathetic cowardice from League 2 clubs. They’ve been nice and cosy for far too long. It’s been a joy to see Cove come up and batter League 2 sides about for fun as they romped to the title - and it will be beautiful when the likes of Kelty, Brora and The Talbot come up and smash these sides about as well. Brechin crying about potentially joining the HL, where they would rightfully belong if they went down, topped it all off for me. The entitlement that these clubs has a resemblance to the way Rangers behaved when they went bust. It’s like they think because they are traditional senior sides in the professional leagues that they don’t deserve to go down. Get it right up them, change is coming and there’s nothing they can do to stop it.

  21. Not sure I understand the level of bile and hate speech going on here in what should be a relatively mundane debate about a potential new structure in a new league. I thought these trying times were all about being kinder and more considerate to each other. Dunipace seem to have done, quite well for themselves, and are doing good things, and appearing to be progressive and forward thinking, and not too up their own backsides. Talbot obviously don't want to do anything that will stop them from being flat track bullies. Clydebank - people need to get over the Senior/Junior thing, and the no home patter. Tiresome. They groundshare and arguably because of that have helped prolong the like of a team on life support - Yoker. A twofer. As for the "back to the juniors" brigade there seem to be a bit of projecting of themselves on to the Lowland League people. No one made the "juniors" move. If they were forced it was the West Region's bizarrely hatched plan to move en masse they is at fault. Anyways - the two teams I heard named were Talbot and Pollok. But what do I know apart from the whole need to denigrate people because they don't or won't name names is immature and irrelevant. The source I heard it from is credible, coherent and not prone to hyperbole. I am not sure they would fabricate it either. There could well be a germ of truth. "At this point is born the fatal envy which so many men feel of the lives of others. "

  22. To be fair, at much as I like Felix and have always had a soft spot for the Ants, having been on the opposite side of some of what he's claimed there (not all of it) I can say with absolute certainty that it's not true. At no point were any East juniors told they weren't welcome because "we hate the juniors". Quite the opposite, they were invited to join the league. They chose not to. That's absolutely fine. I can't speak for all of the claims in his Twitter thread, but given the ones I do have knowledge of I disagree entirely with the sentiment and the detail, it creates doubt for me for all of the others as well. 50 years in an organisation creates blinkers, as well as knowledge.

  24. Talk about throwing your toys out the pram for not getting 3/4 home gates against current Premiership teams, will be a more competitive conference without Talbot and Pollok thrashing likes of St Ants home & away. Make your feelings known in the calls and meetings not on Twitter if your a chairman of a football club. Bit embarrassing in my opinion. With way Scottish football goes could still be reverted back to all in conferences so why not try for that instead of making your club look daft on social media.

  25. I don't know who's responsible for the change to the format (though I have my suspicions), but Felix isn't helping his members by being a balloon and throwing his toys out the pram. We're back to the old "it's an EOS/LL conspiracy!" when those responsible are IMO likelier to be closer to home.

  30. Partick fans seem a bit upset by all of this. If their team hadn't been so shite for most of the season they wouldn't be in the position they are. It's no different to teams who have missed out on a play-off and the chance of promotion - shite happens get over it.

  31. Totally agree with the above Billy and fair play to the Club for having a go ! In many ways it makes sense , geographically and financially although I think the lads would’ve preferred random Conferences to help find their feet rather than this hastily arranged stitch up ! The foundations are there , the opportunity is there and I’d like to wish the Club and the lads all the best in this new venture , might even catch up with you one day again in a Cup tie ........ all the best

  32. There's certainly a few masks slipping. This was always the danger when clubs were effectively forced to move to the WoSFL rather than being allowed to make their own decision to move or stay. Maybe a chance to revisit it and let those clubs who were never wanting to move in the first place to remain in the WRJFA and let everyone else move forwards. Whilst we're at it, settle the Junior Cup issue by preventing clubs from retaining SJFA membership within the Pyramid.

  34. It's a fair question to ask. While I can't answer for George, I do know that he has regular contact with the governing body and must have been made aware of what the SFA wanted. Indeed, the SFA chaired those mini-PWG meetings that saw this WoS agreement come to fruition. He's an extremely professional and prepared individual. It strikes me that this likely isn't something that has bypassed him, rather been thrust upon him.

  39. Classic Boomer Bingo at Tesco this morning. Old boy and his wife cut in front of me in the queue, then said "sorry son, you squeeze past". When I pointed out I had no intention of 'squeezing' past he got all uppity and said I was making a fuss about nothing. I told him just to go ahead as I wasn't interested in arguing. Ran into him again in the shop a few aisles later and him and his wife are both standing in the middle of the aisle looking at the shelves. He saw me wait and said "you'll be waiting a while, I'll be here for a good few minutes". I asked him politely to stand to the side with his wife so I could get past and he started shouting at me and walking closer, saying "I'll fucking come close to you". His wife ushered him away saying "leave it, he's just an arsehole". Some absolute weapons.

  40. To me the root of the problem is that in the West the Juniors ARE the non-league. So people's opinions are polarised between the "couthy, community-friendly, welcoming" Juniors and the heartless capitalist sods that are the Seniors. In the East it's always been different. They've always existed in parallel. So I've been able to walk from my house to see either Bonnyrigg ( Junior) or Whitehill ( surrounded by Juniors). The clubs play regular friendlies against each other, or Nitten or Penicuik or Musselburgh, all the time. Or they use half a 3G pitch each at training followed by a bounce game. Yet they could never meet in a competition. The people running the clubs are the same as people who run any club. I did it for a few years, and amazingly the people running the game in the East aren't middle-class public school types who really prefer rugby ( © I. Goudie). Players switch 'grades' regularly in transfers between the clubs.. Until recently, people in Midlothian would flock to Rosewell to see a Scottish Cup game when Whitehill were a force. And flock to Bonnyrigg in the Junior Cup to see Pollok or Talbot or Kilwinning. Apparently there are c50000 users on this forum. The vast, vast majority will be 'senior' posters of whom an insignificant minority will be hostile to the 'grade' or just looking to wind up paranoid grade diehards (who need to grow a thicker skin). Even at that, most so-called 'anti-junior' people have only been (justifiably) critical of the hierarchy and not the clubs. It's only a game of fitba guys.

  41. The EoSFL are meant to have been told off by the SFA following the 2018 extensions, and Kinnoull's late entry in 2019. This is also happening at a time the SFA are throwing their weight around again with regards to how the WoSFL will operate.

  43. The team was Livingston Utd , the application was late and over the deadline it also came with a letter to mention why they never had the application in before the deadline. Since then they’ve had a letter back from the Eos board to say they have been rejected and try next year. I think that call is a shambles with all this mess going on, people should be more considerate or compassionate.
