  1. Rangers fans will still ask though, they're never arsed about saving their various clubs

  2. Frankly I think it’s a disgrace that there isn’t official recognition on this forum of the deep, fraternal bond that exists between St Mirren and Hibernian Football Clubs. It’s time for Paisley and Leith to become sister cities, and for us to adopt each other’s club anthems. Love Street 86, Hampden 87, Fir Park 10, Hampden 13 and now tonight in Paisley 20. St Mirren, there’s no other way to put it, you have given me some of the best footballing days of my lifetime.

  3. So it seems increasingly clear that the WRJFA's advice to clubs is that they must stick together, protest on the steps of Hampden and demand access to the Pyramid. My advice would be that they are going to the wrong venue. Go along to the EK hotel on Thursday, stick together and sign up to the LL WOSFL proposal. That would get all the junior clubs into the pyramid en masse. That is the essence of the offer that is on the table from the LL. In a year or two's time, the majority of the exec positions in the new league will be filled by the ambitious ex Junior clubs, who have a belief in what they are doing in promoting the new league for everyone.

  7. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure people complaining about not being able to go off work isnt because they are using debt to furnish a lavish lifestyle, but rather that they are working under shitty pay and sick leave conditions, in a country where housing, utilities etc is extortionate. But let's not let that get in the way of bog standard "AYE BUT AH BET THEYV GOAT A 55 INCH TELLY AND SMART PHONES" type patter

  8. I wake up every morning feeling like I'm back at school as I check the news to see if it's a 'snow day'. But instead of snow, it's a deadly virus. And instead of school, it's my livelihood. But every morning, I'm still tinged with disappointment.

  10. I will swim against the tide with you, but only so far. This is precisely the type of compromise offer that was needed and that should have come from the SJFA (the body represented at the PWG) long before now. However, this suggestion is now only being put forward under huge duress due to the collapse of the PWG thanks to SJFA intransigence and to the oh so late realisation that the WRJFA are about to become a huge irrelevance to football in the west of the country, just as the ERSJFA have become a huge irrelevance in the east. With such relegation to the tiniest of footnotes so goes the SJFA relevance too. It appears the SJFA/WRSJFA hierarchy will now volunteer to cede what is necessary to save their honorarium - and they're sufficiently thick skinned not to see just how embarrassing talk of a protest on the stairs of Hampden (if true) is to them and to the clubs of their beloved 'grade'. It’s all too little too late and as has been said by others – clubs are, or certainly should be, now well aware of just what charlatans those in charge of ‘the grade’ actually are and have been. This charade will come to an end soon, beginning with tomorrows Lowland League meeting and concluding with the closing of applications to the new WoSFL shortly thererafter.

  11. No need for the LL to compromise, you either join or you don't. They'll easily get the minimum number to start the league and build from there. Fresh start. No baggage. Simple. SPFL behind it.

  16. There are facts there are also face to face comments with people in here with people who were at meetings throughout this whole thread. Some are truths on both sides, some are not. Unfortunately you have came on here and have been very negative. You don't even need to read the comments from some of the pro pyramid people to understand what's wrong, read it all yourself, even the timeline and you will see what a mess the juniors are in right now Throughout this whole processes of this thread over the years, things have happened and peoples views and judgements of others have changed. I myself have followed this closely and been involved in junior football all my days but wanted, always wanted a pyramid system intergraded but now from known facts, people I've spoken to face to face regarding meetings and other things I've read here and elsewhere I do not 100% want any junior association member involved in the new WOS league. They have embarrassed themselves, the junior clubs they represent and most all of made a mockery of the junior grade with their tunnel view, none objective views and their greed for power during their power struggles and their failure to compromise. It is better that a full pyramid system is running and that junior clubs decide to join A pyramid system then do so but you will no longer be a junior team, that will be confined to history, your teams history and should be held close to the chest and proud but its a new venture to help Scottish football improve from the bottom up.

  20. Fits in pretty much with what I was told from those that were there, it's largely the same proposal that was already rejected by the LL and largely went the way most people expected; Premiership run by LL at tier 6, tier 7 to 9 remain Junior and run by WRJFA/SJFA. All clubs to retain membership of SJFA and enter Junior Cup. Glasgow Uni and Bonnyton, if they apply, can be fitted into tier 6, anyone else starts at the bottom of the pile and have to join SJFA and become Junior. Thinks the "partial" PWG can halt the new WoSFL and also stop Thursday nights meeting! Claiming discrimination against the Juniors, waving Maxwell's email around and threatening legal action, wanting clubs to congregate on steps of Hampden etc etc. I'm told most of the big clubs remained largely silent, it was mostly smaller clubs reacting to his rabble rousing. No idea if anyone raised the matter regarding mandates and on who's authority he was acting. It's a one man show. The immediate issues I can see are; No access to SFA Licencing below tier 7, therefore majority of clubs cannot become SFA members, no access to U20 league etc. Do senior clubs who are relegated from tier 6 revert to Junior status? do they have to join SJFA? The LL have already rejected this plan out of hand, therefore one can only assume he wants to bog all this down, delay WoSFL and force everyone back round the table. He is still acting without any sort of mandate from clubs. The guy is bonkers.

  21. Keeping possession is far from pointless when it's being used to draw defensive minded teams out. The amount of idiots in our support who would rather we just punted the ball into the mixer rather than keep the ball and try to break teams down is depressingly unsurprising.

  24. The key line in that communication is: "Statement is below for info which the Scottish FA will publish in due course" i.e. it was a draft press release. Was it ever issued? No. Was the claimed "consensus" maintained following the "sub group" meeting in November 2018? No.

  29. An email being legally binding is some statement. I look forward to claiming my $9.7m fortune from the Congolese Prince who emailed me last week. That money is mine - it's legally binding after all! Buckled at the thought of St Anthony's and Kilbirnie sending lads to the Hampden steps tomorrow. If I was a club rep I'd be making sure I had a couple of spare pens for the LL meeting tomorrow.

  30. The suggestions mentioned above have been circulating for over a year or more.It seems to be the case if we do not hear anything concrete from last nights meeting we will speculate what the outcome will be.Truth is, am fed up reading dross. We could save a helloffa man hours If people post what they believe to be facts and not what they want to believe.

  31. "I’m not sure what the Lowland League plans are" Christ wept. How many PWG meetings have their been? Is this muppet incapable of phoning a LL representative to discuss? Is dialogue beyond him? He's pushing this whole show with no idea what the league they will be feeding into is up to? I genuinely have no idea what the proportion we split between belligerence and ignorance are on the pie chart representation of TJ's head

  34. I haven't supported or criticised anyone apart from the unsupported (made up) statements in this forum. He has been spreading clear lies. Lies he has definitely spread (check his Twitter if you don't believe me) is that the SFA can force changed through without other parties agreeing and that the West Region "plan" v the LL WoSFL will be voted on at the SFA AGM who will choose which plan will be accepted as a tier 6 feeder. These are clear lies, proven untrue. If you criticise us for apparently "making up" stuff, then he deserves criticism for spreading clear lies.

  35. You are overlooking one of the key components of contract formation in Scots law, that being that the parties committing to said contract must have the legal authority to do so. If we accept that an email can form a legally binding contract in Scots law, which it can, then the media is not the issue. The legal ability of said parties to enter into that contract though quite clearly is an issue as it does not exist in unilateral form based on the clearly written rules. Ian Maxwell is a representative of one of the six parties, legally, who need to agree to such a change (depending on the Tier we're talking about) Unless there's similar emails from the SPFL, LL, SoS, EoS and HL, then the WRSJFA are on to plums on any legal challenge. It would also be foolish in the extreme to attempt to take the governing body down the legal route. If that's all that last night was, it is yet more self preservation bluster I'm afraid and hopefully enough of those present are now clued up enough to spot that.
