All South West (Wigtownshire and Stewartry clubs) all have enclosed parks. Newton Stewart, Wigtown, Stranraer Res, Creetown, St Cuthbert, Threave Rovers. All bar Creetown currently have a license, and as far as I can tell it is floodlights stopping them. Whether or not they'll look to get them who knows? I think again there is a lack of knowledge about us in the South and our facilities. Most parks are enclosed and/or meet licensing standards. There are a whole manner of mitigating factors that could be stopping clubs applying for licenses. I wasn't at the meeting with Petrie, but have had an overview of discussions. Be keen to understand who Demon is too but not aware of any discussions between parties and/or attempts to join a West league. We are looking to again develop our facilities at Blairmount for our own needs and requirements and for our own ambitions in the South. If a decision is to be made down the line on joining a West league or being part of a new structure, we'll certainly look in to what is best for us, the community and the league. We have a great set up where we are, communication with the powers that be down here are great and always kept well informed. It's exciting times ahead for all in the areas and for football in general.11 points

Just home, having had to complain to receive a full refund. Compliments to Arbroath's Chief Steward who was polite and courteous throughout my complaint and credit to Arbroath who made the right decision in the end. That game should have been called off at the outset. To wait until half time when conditions hadn't got any worse was totally nonsensical. I don't know what Kirkland was thinking. Especially given Arbroath had the advantage for 45 mins and scored direct from a wind assisted corner and then he deprived Ayr of having that same advantage. Very strange indeed. My steak and black pudding pie was delicious.8 points

Why would they do that? Arbroath first obligation is to get games on. Not ensure Ayr fans aren't inconvenienced. Any away fan seeing the forecast can decide it's not worth the risk themselves or that it's worth the risk or a day on the cans8 points

That was the oitch this morning, I was quite surprised how well it held up considering the rain we had last night. Commonsense prevailed I think the ref had to call it with the weather conditions not going to improve. He had a ball and it was rolling about the park on it's own lol. If he had waited he would have had to get the keepers out to see if they could kick the ball out and if they failed it would then get called off. Trust me with that wind direction they would have failed.8 points

Seen any story worthy meltdowns? Pathetic self filmed pish doesn't count. One of the most memorable for me wasn't even at a game. It was a bar across from Glasgow Queen Street. Sevco were playing Raith in the Challenge Cup final. There was one guy, apparently a Sevco fan, who was giving it big licks to nobody in particular until Raith scored. He went a strange shade of red, and myself, DA Baracus and a few others we didn't know were chuckling at the zombie's poor attempts to go back ahead. When Rovers scored the winner in extra time (I think?!) he went utterly ape shit, face went scarlet red and eventually stormed out to jeers and laughter. An absolute buffoon of a man and a typical Sevco, touchy, pathetic toad.7 points

The whole concept of the Pyramid is to try and get some kind of level playing field whereby (a) non league clubs (sorry if I've offended anyone with that term!) have the ability to rise up the leagues, and find their true level, at the same time (b) giving teams who fall out of the SPFL a safety net from which to possibly regroup and try and find their way back in. Looking at how Berwick and East Stirling have done since being relegated it seems that once clubs do end up non league, having been in the SPFL, it's a long way back. Looking at the English set up with the National League, and it's feeders the National Leagues South and North the ex league clubs are finding it increasingly difficult to get back into the League again. In the National League, just one step below the Football League there are twelve ex league teams. In the National League North there are a further five, plus Hereford who reformed after losing their place. That's a healthy set up for the non league game as far as crowds are concerned. Will it happen in Scotland? It doesn't appear likely at the minute, you'd need a big club to fall through the trap door. Berwick and East Stirling don't have large travelling supports although their home support seems to be holding up fairly well. The SPFL has needed a clear out for donkey's years, and it now seems it's coming along big style. If either Brechin or Albion Rovers get relegated this season there doesn't appear to be any easy route back if the LL gets stronger year by year with the addition of the top ex Junior clubs. Wast at Queen of the South vs Dundee today, and it was absolute dross. A couple of Queens fans who know my affiliation with Talbot were only saying half in jest that they expected to be playing Talbot in a few years time. There's a lot of water under the bridge before anything like that could ever happen, but it's certainly not out of the question for Talbot or any other non league side now it would appear.7 points

Would agree with all of this except I thought Hendry had a decent game. Second half in particular he got his foot on the ball higher up the pitch and helped us keep a bit of pressure on Clyde. Think Bowie and Tait will be out the team for Armstrong and Spencer next week. Subs were great, fair play to the manager. Armstrong in particular turned the game. Tait has been excellent since he came but I think next week would be the right time to bring Spencer back in. Even Dingwall did well when he came on. Special mention to Thomson for that excellent save near the end, reminded of his stop against Hippolyte last season. I thought his handling was good throughout too, made most of his other saves look easy and held on to those shots well. Like Munro, he doesn’t always convince on crosses but that is 2 goals conceded in the 4 games since he was brought in, he has justified his place as our new number 1. Thought Bene and Davo had a tough time from Goodwillie but credit to Davo for his headed clearance under the bar in the second half. Not seen it mentioned elsewhere but it was superb and saved a certain goal. Finally, that’s 5 wins after only 7 games in the second half of the season so far. We only won 6 of our 18 games in the second half of last season. Credit to McGlynn for the massive improvement this season.6 points

Only positive from today was a Queens MoM performance from CB Callum Semple, he strolled the match, won all his battles In the air, and never put a foot wrong, His first full 90 for a long time. So glad to see him back in the starring 11.6 points

I would like to nominate several Ayr Utd fans in attendance at Gayfield today for this award. Imagine making the journey all the way to Arbroath, despite numerous public transport issues, to then stand in amongst the home support, go wild when your team scores and fail to provoke any sort of reaction then when the opposition score soon after absolutely lose the heid and start windmilling in to their fans resulting in a sore face and being chucked out the ground at 3:20 and have the hugely problematic train journey home or a stay in the cells until Monday. Ps. The ref said he done the Cove Rangers game last week and said he'd never felt as cold as he did then. 5 minute inspection on our park and he came back in shivering saying that topped it [emoji1787][emoji1787]6 points

To be fair, that Morton team equalled a Premier League record that day, which no one has come close to achieving again since then. They became one of only two teams who have ever conceded 100 (one hundred) goals in a Premier League season. The other team to do it before them was, of course, Morton again during their previous crack at the top flight.6 points

Why has this turned into “let’s crucify the referee”? There are dodgy yellow cards dished out every day football matches are played. No one can be sure what a referee at any time actually sees, apart from the referee himself. The problem here is solely the panel who looked at this at their leisure, from different angles, at different speeds, and as many times as they wanted, and couldn’t see what was in front of their faces.6 points

Ironically I doubt any of that lot will be up for the rearranged game if it's midweek. Shame that they obviously don't understand that Arbroath is the best away day in the country and decided to ruin it for themselves.5 points

Tactically we were hopeless with 10 men. Neither the players nor DM knew how to change when we lost Campbell and we made some dreadful substitutions. Having Cosgrove and Main on with 10 men was beyond mental and I know both McLennan and McGinn were quiet but they are better options than Kennedy and Hedges. 4 home defeats on the bounce and 8 wins in the last 23 games. I don't know where we go from here with the management team. We have a group of naive players who need strong tactical instruction which isn't DMs strong point. We did well in the cup but we are still in wretched form generally. We seem incapable of arresting this run either. I do realise we were up against after the red card but it's not a pretty picture just now. However on a selfish note with an impending move to the Highlands for Mrs BucksburnDandy and I, that win today should seal two "home" games for me next season. So every cloud and all that. Enjoy your night Staggies, you deserved the three points5 points

Don't think anyone has mentioned John Robertson's actions after the match last night. Not for the first time at Tannadice he waited on the pitch as United team applauded the supporters, and made a point of congratulating and shaking the hands of the players as they approached the tunnel. It indicates the quality of the man in a football sense, and I can't think of other managers who show this calibre.5 points

We took it to penalties for a laugh. It was the ultimate in showboating. Dangled the prospect of miraculous progress in front of Motherwell and then just let Hladky The Arabslayer do his thing. Taking penalties against him is so intimidating, he can make players actually miss the target. It's remarkable.5 points

Got to agree with you. When Jc1 quit Faudhouse it was a shock for me as a non-Hoose fan. So much ‘chat’ has come through in last 36 hours and an initial tweet from a committee member has now been removed, as well as his actual account. I appreciate that officials at Fauldhouse may not want to reply on Social media but a collective response from a ‘Fauldhouse handle’ should be done and the sooner the better! Fans who go to Park View should be given that respect at least.5 points

I've been a driver for 25 years and yet I really don't understand the hatred of cyclists. I've witnessed perhaps half a dozen times where a cyclist has been a total dick - endangering either himself or other road users (including one time when one tried to snake down in between two lanes of traffic and knocked off at least one wing mirror). Far fewer times than I've witnessed dickish behaviour from a driver. The hatred of them dodging red lights I don't get either. It usually frees up the road better for cars and plenty of other countries allow drivers to proceed on a red if it's safe. And aye, it can take a bit of time to overtake cyclists on certain roads at times, but no more so than other slow moving vehicles, such as horses, kerb-crawlers or bin lorries. Mon the cyclists.5 points

Mr Petrie was in good spirits at last nights meeting with us to discuss the South. After discussions with other reps, it is now likely we will throw our hat in to the ring and express an interest to join. Abbey Vale and Creetown are looking to obtain a license soon too. (Latter close to sourcing funds for lights) Petrie advised that any South club looking to switch should be given priority at T6.4 points
