  1. Pitch waterlogged due to Hearts fans’ tears about St Liedown’s antics back in 86 IMO.

  2. It means the committee are feart and are staying ERJFA, where they’ll spend a year in a south league with just the Tribute Acts, Syngenta and Whitburn for company before ending up in EOS Tier 8 in 2021 with a manager who isn’t half as good as JC.

  3. Refusing to join the EoSFL next season to remain junior would be a pretty astonishing act of self-harm for any current ESJFL member south of the Tay. It's a bit like choosing to stay on the Titanic because you don't like the colour of the lifeboats.

  4. The committee didn’t even get to discuss whether to join the pyramid or stay junior, that wasn’t on the agenda at Monday’s meeting... it was only briefly talked about. This decisions has been made by the same 2-3 men who are running that club into the ground. So much potential, an amazing management/playing squad and half a committee who were willing to push the club forward but in the end totally consumed by village politics and a fear of change... I hope they are proud of themselves

  5. Give the people what they want. A relegation slugfest on an absolute bog of a pitch is peak Scottish football and it must happen.

  6. All the bleating and greeting on here will not change the fact that the Fauldhouse,Whitburn and Armadale"s etc of West Lothian will not move until they have no other choice, even after the EoS clubs have opened the door to tier 7 with their decision last nite to keep the conference's for one more season before going to a league structure below the EoS Premier division. They are dyed in the wool junior men,who care nowt for the pyramid and have a distinct lack of knowledge of its workings!! I,along with many other Whitburn men, will not be back at Central park until they are in the pyramid. So tragic to see the demise of the once great WJFC.

  7. A lot of chairmen seem to be fiddling while Rome burns. There is absolutely nothing wrong with staying Junior if that’s what’s best for the club but do the basic research and find out the options. Speak to clubs that have left ask them why they left, how they’re finding it, what are the positives and negatives. Speak to the other clubs in your Junior leagues ask them their thoughts on going or staying. It’s all well and good a club like Fauldhouse being loyal to the grade but if as rumored every Fife team leaves what are you left with? What if other West Lothian teams leave? Basic research any board should be doing so they can make an informed decision on what’s best for their club. The fact Whitburn have learned nothing from the last time speaks volumes.

  8. We tried mate, I was all for rolling with whatever the majority thought was best for the club but when it became apparent that it was being mismanaged, misinformed and lead into a black hole, I spoke up... big mistake! The fact I wasn’t even told about the meeting last night and the way the players/management have been treated this week has been horrific, says it all about those running the club

  9. I know this has rumbled on for 24 hours or so, but it’s very rare that a decision against an Inverness Caley player will ever get me so angry. I see a lot of people saying that it’s fair enough that the referee was able to get this decision wrong in real time, without the use of replays etc. But if a fully qualified, SFA endorsed referee is standing 12 feet away from that challenge, and thinks it’s a dive, then he has absolutely no place refereeing football at any sort of competitive level in this country. We see it week in and week out where a player will maybe exaggerate a challenge, or even fall over a dangling leg when there’s been minimal contact, and in these situations the only time we see the referee produce a yellow card for simulation is when it’s quite blatantly, and beyond any doubt, a dive. For Greg Aitken to watch that challenge from 12 feet away and be so sure that Keatings has dived to produce a second yellow, and ultimately a red, is staggering. The panel not overturning the decision doesn’t need to be expanded on, its horrendous. But I feel the referee is getting away with one here.

  10. All the best to Fauldhouse utd in the future. My time has came to an end I want to thank everyone for the support in the 3 years. I leave with a heavy heart but my position became impossible to continue in. No slagging matches ect I'll be forever grateful for the opportunity but the time is right to leave

  12. I'm going to be magnanimous here, and suggest that was unfortunate rather than malicious.* In other news, Rosette No.2, who's got hypochondroplasia, is off (with hubby and daughter) to Little People UK's Birthday bash in Milton Keynes this weekend. She was talking to Warwick Davis online about some fundraising she'd been doing, and mentioned it might be a bit of a stretch financially going for the weekend. He replied to her with "check your inbox". When she did, there were the booking confirmation for the hotel (OK, Travelodge) and the function on Saturday night. He's some boi, right enough. * In all honesty, it's the kind of line she'd use herself. She used to go to fancy dress parties as Snow White, which I thought was pretty cool. Anyway, as she says herself, "I'm not small, I'm concentrated"

  15. Dev,I know many of the WJFC committee,Haddow,Sinclair etc. I"ve had many a conversation with them regarding the pyramid and they're not interested!! All the usual crap gets spouted, those that left are traitors tae the grade, money it takes tae achieve a licence, even though you dont need one for tier 6 and below, playing locally etc. They wont go until they have no other option.

  17. After the selfless way the original EoS teams accommodated the junior clubs, the original conference idea to let clubs find their level and the ingenious inter-conference games to bulk out the season and keep the games interesting this year I think the EoS possibly has the only administrators in Scottish football I would trust to organise a piss up in a brewery; never mind a league. However they slice for the next coupla years will turn out fine

  18. This is a big deal. A proper come and join us call for the East Region. I'm a bit surprised but voting for the right thing over self preservation again has to be applauded. Can't see anything other than a unified East after this.

  24. Well the EOS members being accommodating once again by offering an Olive branch one last time to the East Juniors, personally I think it’s a good decision let’s what’s left of the Juniors know this is the last chance to join at tier 7 and they’ll accommodate any who met the criteria. It’s also the quickest way to get the few remaining stronger teams through the weaker teams quickly. Can see why some prefer the leagues formed next year but it’s only one more season and remember the original EOS members have bent over backwards for years. They let the Lowland League take their best teams, they took severe thumpings from Kelty stopping LTHV certain promotion, they allowed conferences to get the ex Juniors at tier 6 at the expense of all their members and now they’re letting the last few have a similar welcome. Hopefully this message gets what’s left in the East Juniors to join and next season we’ve got every East team south of the Tay playing in one system.

  31. With EoS announcing they're going heirarchal (P-1-2-?) from 2021-22 rather than next season (one more sesson of conferences), this guarantees that WHEN (not if) Fauldhouse join the pyramid, they will be at least 2 promotions off the EoS top flight, rather than 1 had they joined for 20-21. Do these decision-makers life by the light of a parafin lamp?

  32. If this is the case, that is absolutely crazy. You only need to look close at home to Blackburn to see how good moving to the EoS set up has been for them and most, if not all the rest of us. Remember when Whitburn decided against moving to the East Region Super League in its infancy. They have never recovered from that. If Fauldhouse remain static this year, I fear they too will live to regret that.

  33. That looks an absolutely awful league, and some of those will still leave as well, so there will be even fewer clubs left... Any club preferring this over the EOS is absolutely mad.

  34. All the liquid is due to their bottles crashing in 86. All they needed was a draw but as they cannot face the truth they blame someone else for them bottling it.

  35. That’s my thinking also. I’ve never heard anything about Duns, they’re currently looking for promotion out the BA B league. I personally never thought when they came into EOS a few years ago it would be sustainable and it wasn’t. Things may have changed though, the facilities are certainly worthy of EOS There’s a debate going on now about where Eyemouth would return too. Just my personal opinion but I think BA would be a better start up, although I’d obviously prefer EOS. I just can’t see EU with the finances and potential players with the appetite. The junior set up is good here, so it’s important to have an adult team. Some teams in the region struggle for players on a Saturday, it’s becoming more difficult with each year

  36. It is tragic, but times move on and you have to adapt or die. I have no problem whatsoever in Junior teams deciding to stay junior but its the reason behind it. The comment Whitburn Vale makes is so true throughout junior football, (They are dyed in the wool junior men, who care nowt for the pyramid and have a distinct lack of knowledge of its workings!!). They do not know any better, other than junior, they think everything is rosy when it is not, they do not do their research or have others do their research on the matter and then make an objective decision. There was a chairman of a junior team pleading on twitter to another chairman of a junior teams saying don't leave, we have an 134 year history, that was the only reason he gave. I am junior through and through, played it all my days and now I either coach at youth games or watch youth games that interest of effect my team or Im at a junior match. I do not go to senior games other than games that involve lads that I have coached. After all this even I know in the current situation for many, many reason teams should start to look towards the pyramid/senior leagues.

  38. Could WL clubs be delaying because they want to come in at the lowest possible level in a regionalised division of the EoS at a later date? Or am I overthinking and giving them too much strategic credit?

  39. This has all the hallmarks of being a day that ends up with fans being shafted. Instead of calling it off early - given the worsening forecast, instead we have a day of speculation. ‘Anyone heard anything’ questions. Rumour and counter rumour about the state of play. Rumours about an early inspection. St Mirren come out with a ‘game on as things stand’ sort of statement. Then the conditions worsen. Fans finish work and start travelling. The referee goes out and bounces a ball, which doesn’t bounce. The game gets called off late, everyone is travelling, we hear about it on the radio. The presenters on the radio go on about fans not being considered, get these games called off early - the usual. The clubs say they wanted the game to go ahead, but due to.... blah blah. St Mirren say the pitch was playable at 5pm, 6pm... then... they apologise. Stu goes mental and heads back to Dumfries. We all go ballistic on P&B. Scottish football looks like big feet clown shoes cuntery time again..... It’s being so cheery that keeps me going.
