  1. His age is irrelevant here. Jim Traynor is an intelligent man who wilfully exploits sectarianism and tribalism by appealing to the bottom-feeders who make up a significant proportion of the Rangers support and he makes a tidy living off the back of it. He is no better than the likes of Katie Hopkins or Tommy Robinson. He’s a professional hate-mongerer. If neds feel compelled to throw rocks at him, he only has himself to blame. Traynor is trash.

  2. I had a 3-monthly clinic appointment today which has been worrying me all weekend. Any ache I get in my back or ribs I worry the bones are broken again and the Myeloma back. Anyway my cancer is measured in Free Light Chains. There is Kappa and Lambada. What you are looking for is a good ratio between the two. "Normal" is between 0.26 and 1.25 and mine is 0.49! Worrying for nothing!

  3. I'd like to counterpoint this, if I may? As my name implies, I'm a sassenach, but I am familially connected in the deep past with the Gordons [Clan] of Huntly. My first and foremost love in fitba is Yeovil Town FC (Somerset), presently plying trade in the English National League Premier. YTFC had been playing in the EFL since 2003, even managing one season in The Championship before returning from whence they came at the end of last season. The Glovers (their nickname, the club having long been associated with the local Petter's glovemakers - they used to be named 'Yeovil & Petter's United FC' - were; before 2003; best known as 'The Non-League Giantkillers' and despite having put themselves up for election to the FL 26 times between 1946 and 1976, had never succeeded in attaining acceptance into that august body. They had enjoyed decades of being acknowledged as the unofficial 'Kings of the Non-League game'... which all changed in May 2003. They won The Football Conference and thus direct promotion into the EFL. The point I'm making is that I see among many Talbot people the very same qualms and trepidation that we Glovers' supporters entertained back in 2003. Getting 'ripped out' of our safe-haven and comfort zone, our giantkilling epithet being sacrificed - and all for what? Well, looking at where we are this season 'nothing' might be a tempting answer! However, in sixteen years we've been given one helluva roller-coaster ride... would I swap it for the auld status quo? Never in a million years! Even if it continues downhill from here, no-one can take away the awful lows and fantastic highs of our journey. It's recommended!

  4. No they’re not anymore special than any other club, what they are is a well run community club who have a very hard working board and have become the dominant force in the Juniors pyramid which is a very good achievement they should be applauded for. They’re in no rush to lead the charge to join the pyramid as they can really only lose by joining. At present they win trophies most seasons and any season they don’t sees them battling for the league or a cup final this in turn brings fans out as like every club, fans come out for a winning team. If they join a WOSFL they’ll get promoted for the first few seasons and could go as high as league 1 however they cannot become a dominant force due to their size and the greatest they could realistically achieve is to emulate Brechin when they relegated ourselves in the playoff to become a Championship club. The problem for them is once they go up they’ll inevitably find a level that is beyond them and the gap is too big to bridge that will then see seasons of defeats and relegations and they’ll become another “also ran club” Once they find their level they’ll like the rest of us see a couple of trophies a decade if they’re lucky and their fan base will probably reduce while they sit mid-table in league 1, league 2 or the Lowland League. This isn’t a go at Talbot as their board do a fantastic job and at present the SJFA with access to the Scottish cup works well for them but the reality is they’ll probably lose due to the pyramid and will be between a rock and a hard place if the other clubs go. You can’t dominate any level of a pyramid except the top as you’ll move up and down it, only Celtic and Rangers will ever consistently win trophies. Stay Junior and the competition will be weaker and they’ll start to lose players to WOSFL clubs, go Senior and become an “also ran club”

  5. Bring nothing to league... St Mirren's last 15 top division finishes: 10, 11, 12, 8, 8, 11, 8, 11, 10, 11, 10, 11, 12, 11, 10. What an asset to the Premiership.

  6. Yep. Basically it's been an utterly farcical situation to have two parallel league structures in Scotland for so long where there's roughly similarly sized semi-professional clubs split across both grades. All the work that's gone into creating the pyramid structure has been surprisingly excellent but it doesn't hide the fact that, on a longer time scale, there's been a ludicrous amount of intransigence and parochialism on both sides across Scottish football when it comes to leagure structure.

  7. The SFA were not given a mandate by their clubs to get the juniors into the pyramid. The SJFA were.

  10. St Johnstone boasting about their European football just makes you how much they wasted it by losing to the likes of Alashkert, Trakai and Minsk. Imagine what they'd be like if they did anything of note while they were there?

  12. I know you're at the wind-up, and yeah, I'm biting, but that's a fucking bizarre post. You know someone has to finish in those positions, right? Are you suggesting our place would have been better filled by a team who... I dunno, finished lower than us in any of those given seasons? I mean, fair play, you've had a few good years while Newco were finding their feet again but f**k me, you've won one trophy. Ever.

  13. It’s daft that when folk are called out for vandalism there are those who automatically say, “well do you want to go back to sitting on your hands with no atmosphere?”. Those aren’t the only two options available, here. I’ve absolutely loved the singing at the games and the atmosphere returning, but that doesn’t automatically mean you need to accept smashing seats. There is a, very obvious, far better and more acceptable middle ground.

  14. When you get a large group of 60/70 young guys together at the football unfortunately theres a minority who want to act like billy big baws.I,ve been one who has sung their praises for the backing and atmosphere they,ve brought to our games but theres no need for damaging seats etc .Continue to back the team vocally, enjoy yourself but cut out the fukin vandalism

  15. I really enjoy the atmosphere the YT bring to games and it has certainly helped us on the park. But I really shouldn’t be worrying about taking my asthmatic son to the toilet at half-time due to some imbeciles letting off smoke bombs inside the concourse just to film themselves for social media. Just sing at full voice and bounce around like dafties - but don’t put others needlessly at risk for a few ‘likes’.

  16. When I was in 1st year some lassie overheard me and my mate slagging each other off and got it in her heid we were slagging her aff. She spent the rest of the next year trying to make our lives hell. Telling guys in the year above we'd been talking about their maws and all sorts of crap so they'd try and beat us up. I got in about 20 fights in my first year of high school because of this lassie and nearly moved school because it was just too much fucking hassle. Once it had calmed down with me, tho', she started it up on another lad in a different class and he ended up self harming and all sorts because of the abuse he got aff her. Cannae mind how it died down in the end but it stopped and I had pretty much forgotten all about it and she added me on facebook years ago and I just accepted it in that way ye dae with folk ye went tae school with. Anyway the last few years has been great craic watching her moaning about her wean's da' and how shite he is, and then posts saying stuff like "I dnt care wit nebody sez aboot ma wean I know she widnae stab that delivery driver" and it culminated in her wean being sent to a special school for kids who are absolute fucking mentalists and keep stabbing delivery drivers. Keeping these roasters on yer friends list is absolute box office. Anyway her wean has been getting bullied aff other lassies now in this secure unit or wherever she is and she's went on a mad long rant about how bullies are the scum of the earth and they'll get what's coming to them and it's all done without an inkling of self awareness or correct spelling. Been a wild ride.

  17. Tbf saying to a sponsor "We Play in the 6th Tier of Scottish Football and play in the Scottish Cup every season" is far more appealing that "We are a junior team, but you see that's just in reference to the level of football not the age of the players, but wez are bigger than senior teams I promise."

  21. I think the statement made by her agents is very ill advised. They emphasised that her partner hadn't wanted the prosecution to proceed, that's a very dangerous thing to say - how many domestic violence cases have this feature? The prosecutor for the Rotherham child sexual abuse case was on the BBC today and said that increasing prosecutions for domestic abuse even without victim co-operation was a focus for authorities. He made the point that the evidence they had was strong - the initial 999 call, medical evidence, footage from police bodycams, statements for other witnesses. Her death is a tragedy but that doesn't mean that mean that committing suicide is some sort of morality hose down. I hope I don't sound heartless but I think that the way mental health is discussed in the media and on social media lends itself to this - people are brave, fighting a battle, they have demons, they are struggling. It's presented as a heroic battle that we have to support people in. It's perfectly possible to have a mental health problem and engage in bad behaviour unrelated to this. I saw this article on Twitter today about suicide, domestic abuse and coercive control in relationships, I thought it was interesting. https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/love-sex/relationships/a9905675/domestic-abuse-suicide-control/

  23. That's why it will be so much easier to say "I support a semi-pro team at tier X in the Scottish pyramid", rather than "I support a junior team, but that's not kids, let me explain, it's complicated, you see it works like this........."

  25. I hate the term "non league" with a passion, as in reality we are all playing in leagues. I also hate the term "junior" football, as people outside Scotland don't understand it and associate it with kids' football. I use the terms "semi professional" or "lower league" football, which everybody understands all over the world.

  26. I think Blackburn United had already gone pretty much the entire way to overhauling their near neighbours in Fauldhouse, Bathgate, Whitburn and Armadale before they made the move to the Seniors, certainly off the park with the remarkable strides made in growing such a large community club set-up for boys, girls and ladies and in redeveloping New Murrayfield Park into the top notch facility that it now is. On the park too, I seem to remember that their last season in the Juniors saw them playing in the league above Armadale Thistle, who were by then already down in the South Division, and finishing above both Bathgate Thistle and Whitburn in the Premier Division. Really though, each of these four clubs made a poor decision in not moving to the EoSFL when the chance was theirs at the beginning of the last two seasons. Had they done so, they could very well have been playing where they properly belong and that's against the likes of Linlithgow, Bo'ness, Penicuik, Broxburn et al. Hopefully it's a mistake each club will very soon rectify.

  28. Traynor is a vicious, propagandising, lying blowhard. His outpourings of bile over the years, and especially since being employed by the Tribute Act, have legitimised, in their minds, the "defensive" reactions of the more extreme elements of that club's support. Traynor is quite well aware of the consequences of issuing endless statements demanding action, alleging bias and discrimination, and denying responsibility for wrongdoing on behalf of his paymasters*. While noboidy should wish harm on any individual, no matter how vile, Traynor has contributed more than enough to the horrible sectarian situation in Scotland not to be surprised when the consequences of feeding the monster come back to bite him. Absolutely zero sympathy here. Oh, and if he had actually had a rock thrown at him, I have no doubt a oicture of said projectile, along with a description including dimensions, would have accompanied the initial report. * I'm quite convinced the cúnt would do the job for free, in order to feel relevant - at least in his own head.

  37. Not really but funny to see Piers Morgan talking about how much of a tragedy it is and how media bullying is wrong, given his one man crusade against Meghan Markle for the last two years. Given his long and storied history of being a sleaze bag editor for a sleaze bag rag. Even more ironic to see Katie Hopkins lament her death and those who contributed to her mental anguish, despite lambasting the lassie from Little Mix for nigh on 6 years now about her weight and even openly mocking her when she opened up on TV about how trolls had her contemplating her own life. These people are dangerous and have no sense of self awareness.
