  1. In the the season before Rangers 2.0 came into the Premiership, we were 3 points behind Celtic at this stage. The season before that we were level on points after the first round of Feburary fixtures. Really shows what Gerrard has achieved with the vast resources at his disposal.

  3. Whatever happens remainder of today and this season it really can’t be understated what John McGlynn has done for this football club. Man deserves the keys to the fucking toon.

  4. Raith were the better team by miles for the first 35 minutes, but after that is was a bit back and forth. Raith never looked like they’d lose that game though. It’s clear why they’ve been able to grind out results consistently over the course of the season. I really hope Raith go on to win the league now ahead of those Falkirk c***s.

  5. It won't get worse either and it does away with a historic divide that serves no purpose. Clubs in the East have been encouraged to improve facilities. I bring my daughter to games sometimes. It'a dreadful experience for her at some grounds. Lack of toilets, nowhere to sit down other than a cold concrete step etc... semi pro football is about getting punters through the gate to keep things afloat. Too many people assume that any step towards the pyramid automatically means increased cost and the prospect of Elgin away every 2nd tuesday. Despite the size of club, Pollok haven't won a league title since we had a Labour PM and it won't be happening this year either. Only clubs at the very top need worry about anything remotely like change but change is open to all who wish to go there. That opportunity doesn't exist just now. The pyramid has, on evidence widely available, been wilfully missold by the SJFA to keep their irrelevant (IMO - but I am not alone in that view!) organisation alive for a few more seasons. Chickens will come home to roost.

  9. For anyone who’s interested, I’ve just released the third single from my upcoming first album. In all honesty, although I currently feel better than I’ve felt in a long time, I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety for around ten years. This song relates to that feeling of negativity which used to prevent me from doing anything worthwhile with the occasional days when I was actually feeling good. In other words, this is a cheery anthem to lift your spirits on a Saturday morning... Once again, just a click would be much appreciated. You don’t have to listen.

  11. Bit gutted for Kamberi that he didn't get the result he would have wanted from his debut for the club he's wanted desperately to play for since coming to Scotland. Especially since the match was at Ibrox with the supporters he believes are the best i the world.

  13. Seen you lot have signed Tom Field. I've been a Brentford season ticket holder for the past couple of seasons and whilst not featuring often for the first team, when he has, Field has looked pretty raw but not put a foot wrong in the English Championship. On paper I'd say that's a very good signing for you and hopefully he can push on with more first team games.

  14. This part of the board has been loosely moderated for a while. No longer. If you cannot debate in a civil manner then you are not welcome here. Independence and politics are an emotive subject, however please behave in a civil manner. This relates to posters on both sides of the debate. 1930's Germany, proto fascists, dribbling simpleton etc etc There is really no need and repeats of this behaviour will mean you will no longer be posting here. Let's draw a line under this and see how it goes.

  16. How about we make flyers and on the 10th minute we hold them up and sing “WE WANT MCPAKE OUT, SAY WE WANT MCPAKE OUT”. We can do this for precisely 2 minutes. We should then break into a roaring crescendo making as much noise as possible.

  19. Everyone loves a SUPERLEAGUE, especially Arch Stanton - who is the biggest swinging dick in town this season. Edmund takes second in QD, and there was a bit of a stramash to sort out the Premiershit spots, but QD saved the day and sorted it all out without the need of play-offs. Not much more to say really. I'm brutally hungover after the Peep Show quiz ... the highlight definitely being told to "f**k off, f**k right off pal" by Big Mad Andy who was having a smoke outside. Nae play-offs this week. Slippery P is settling into his new role as Thailand's head Dog Warden. And after 6 years, I'm being carted off to St. Clabbert's Hospital for wayward priests. But I'm handing over the reigns to a cadre of new league organisers (highlighted in yellow above) who will continue to run this thread. Cheers chaps.

  20. If 51% of a given electorate voted to boot you in the baws, would that need to be honoured? Ireland twice had second referendums on EU treaties, Nice and Lisbon. Because, like us, the first time it was mostly a howl of frustration from people who didn't know who they should be frustrated with. But the second time, both times, they grew up and got their shit together. We're just a much more juvenile country with a laughable sense of exceptionalism.

  22. I don’t think I have ever read anything of that sort in my life (football or day job). This is something that is supposed to give clubs proper information not someone’s interpretation of event. I would find this offensive if I had received this at the club. This is why there should have been proper minutes and should have been a statement from the SFA explaining the outcome, even if that was ‘we can’t get and agreement so we have decided that we are to end attempts at amalgamation’. Only way forward is a WOSFL.

  24. I need to get out of this mindset but each week I’m expecting the inevitable to happen and we’ll slip up and/or find ourselves knocked off top stop but this team keeps surprising me. Granted nothing is set in stone yet and there’ll no doubt be more twists and turns to come but in the meantime fair fucks to McGlynn and the team - emphasis on the word team btw because last season we had our passengers but there’s something about this seasons group of players. It’s refreshing to see man to a man a bit of bite, passion and drive. Think McGlynn has got his combination of players spot on and you can sense what it would mean to him as someone with a genuine love for the club to get us promoted - particularly with what he, and the club, have had to deal with in terms of injuries. Proud of the lads. COYR!

  32. In my opinion, IF there were no official Minutes taken at the PWG meeting, the SFA/PWG should (instead) issue a public statement clarifying the outcome of the meeting, and at the same time, highlight any inaccuracies/misunderstandings in Tom Johnson's 'Minutes'.

  34. Exactly Baillie! Football fans in this league have far more in common than they will ever have separating them and they should realise that. Broken Algorithms was good enough to come on our podcast last year and was great value. You’re a bit ahead of us this season but our clubs aren’t very different and I’ve respect and admiration for those who choose to follow RRFC rather than watch Premier League Football on TV or seek their fix in Glasgow. Enjoy your evening dancing on the streets of Raith and we’ll see you at least one more time this year!

  35. It’s everyone’s individual choice whether to be bothered about sectarian songs or not. If I’m a minority of one who object to our support singing about dirty orange b*****ds today then so be it. I suspect I’m not though. Leave that sort of pish to the morons who get on the buses to Glasgow.

  38. Saw the start of it. One mad Airdrie fan ran the length of the car park towards the Rover’s fans. He was attacked by a Rovers fan then more Raith fans ran towards it. Not sure what happened after that. Idiots on all sides

  39. Future is looking bright for Queens, I watched the u18s win 6-0 at Hamilton last night. They have also beaten Celtic Hearts and Motherwell recently. Good chance they will keep some of their best players now that they are professional.

  40. To be fair, I have seen East Fife twice this season (missed today) and they are comfortably the best footballing side I have seen. They play nice, quick football and they don't give you a second on the ball. The recipe for complete disaster when you start with Hutton, Carswell, McKee and Forbes. I think Jim has a lot of work to do to figure out our best formation. We have bodies at least but options mean choices - something I would rather have than not.

  44. We managed to beat Edinburgh Uni, who are 15th Lowland League in the 1st round of the Scottish Cup this season. That was a decent victory, but no walk in the park either. In the second round we were lucky to get a replay against BSC who then deservedly beat us in the replay, they were simply the better side. And we are the current east champions, the top in the west are better than us but we're still one of the stronger junior teams around behind the west top. Some people are clearly underestimating the LL here.
