  1. Seems unfair on Hearts that all their upcoming fixtures are against teams above them in the league.

  6. As I said a few days ago. the EoS will be backing the LL proposal of a new WoSFL at next weeks PWG, as will the SoS. So unless the SFA try somehow to put a blocker on it to protect the SJFA, it will be up and running for next season with applications invited. We already know that the SJFA will table "option Z" which will be rejected by the other three leagues. So if the SFA are wanting to see tangible progress, rather than more delays, they allow the LL to go ahead and form the WoSFL and the three pyramid leagues will amend the tier 5/6 play-off regulations accordingly to include the new league.. Personally, with the three senior leagues backing it. I can't see the SFA putting blockers in as I doubt they want to be seen as stopping progress and it doesn't really affect them, unlike the blocker they put on SFA licencing. I guess we'll see next week, it'll either be major progress or more of nothing just like the previous 2 years.

  7. Since the subject of guide dogs has come up... This is Alfie, a guide dog whose training I've been helping to sponsor for the past two years. He has now been matched with an owner for a compatibility trial and assuming all goes well he'll be the owner's permanent dog from now on.

  10. this is getting ridiculous, you're twisting absolutely everything. Your using rules that deal with neither league having a licenced champion or clubs playing illegible players to argue that the play-off agreement can just be chucked out, utter madness

  19. Scotland behind barbed wire. A football team representing Scotland in Lamsdorf Prisoner or War Camp during WWII. (Camp 344 - an unlikely but attacking formation if ever I saw one). I've no idea if any of the team were 'real' footballers in uniform.

  23. This is frustrating isn't it? This thread is approaching 1,000 pages and the issue just rolls on and on, with new levels of misinformation and stupidity out there emerging at each critical juncture. Personally think that at this point its harder and harder to deny the SFJA are not acting in good faith by proposing solutions which have already failed, and not doing more to inform its members of what joining the pyramid really means. But I don't think a breakaway WOSL is the answer. Whilst it would move things forward, ultimately it would create a non-league divide in the one part of Scotland where one doesn't exist. The east has always had senior and junior options. This is why ultimately Kelty triggered a stampede to the pyramid which has mortally wounded the Junior game. In the north, there is a choice between the Highland League and North Juniors, but the HL always having been stronger so juniors going senior in the north was a natural progression. But in the west everyone is neatly under one league structure just waiting to be plugged in and switched on, simple as. The Juniors days are clearly numbered. The SFJA knows this which is why they are being so obtuse. Any WSFL will only eventually end up having to absorb the dregs when the last remaining structures around the west juniors who didn't join the pyramid finally collapse. There is a great opportunity for the SJFA to show leadership, preserve its legacy and still have some influence in the non-league game in the future by accepting that the East juniors is a busted flush and urging the rest of the east to join the EoS, whilst the entire west juniors enter the pyramid under its management. Once this happens, its like a jigsaw - its easier to complete once the bigger picture is more clear and there are less pieces left to fit in. So the north and Tayside would follow soon enough. So, for the love of god, SJFA please just suck it up and get the west region in the pyramid as per the majority of its members' wishes.

  33. f**k. League tables. I know I've threatened this before, but I'm really going to have hand in my notice soon. I see that the QuizoftheDay lets you organise your own private leagues. If nobody else is up for doing the 3 x weekly league tables, I think we should go for it. Tut. I've even left the header off the Premiershit league table. I mean it chaps tho. It does take an hour or two every week and whilst I've enjoyed writing up the league tables, the odd opprobrium and the surfeit of greenies that I'd never have got otherwise, I now find it more a chore than a bit of fun. @Eednud does sterling work picking up the pieces when I'm on sabbatical, @SlipperyP does wonders with his play-off questions - and we've had some good (and not so good cups), from @pleslie99 @101 @alang1993 @Tynierose and others. I'll give it a couple of weeks while we find a solution, but as I say, Quizoftheday offers their own private league feature that might work quite well.

  39. I've got to agree with the above. Griffiths had a good solid game last night although he should have been booked in the first half for persistent fouling. He looked to be forming a potentially exciting partnership with his striking colleague and, considering what he's come through over the past year the headlines should have. been glowing. Consider what would have happened if the roles had been reversed and the fan had thrown something at him. He acted like a fanny and I kinda blame Lennon for appearing to put him back in the spotlight too soon as he clearly wasn't in the right state of mind, but Lennon chose to defend his actions because supporters were shouting unkind things at him. I wish The Thumb well in his recovery, but on last nights showing he still has some way to go.
