  1. Not every one has an outlet. Sometimes telling a bunch of VLs and middle aged alcoholics is easier than telling your mates you’re struggling a bit, especially on a thread as sensitive as that.

  2. No. 2 arrived today at 11:36am. Orla Margaret. Like her sister she needed the suction cup to get out but mum n daughter are doing well. Looked back at this post because she is the spit of her big sister (if the old pic loads).

  3. I don't know why anyone would volunteer to help out at Clyde. You just get ripped apart for your altruism towards the club and fellow fans. I'm genuinely grateful for all our volunteers efforts.

  5. Trying to cause trouble in the depression thread is disgusting and deserves a perma-ban, that thread has been really helpful to me and i'm sure many others on here.

  7. This is the dictionary definition of victim blaming. It makes you sound like a cretin, tbh. Piers Morgen, Katie Hopkins esque.

  8. Girlfriend's parents are prime examples of this too. Otherwise lovely, sensible people, but they're the generation that still gets the Daily Mail delivered to the front door every day. Her Mother has blamed Nicola Sturgeon for all sorts of nonsensical wrongs and evils. Speed bumps are apparently Sturgeon's brainchild, and to hear how vitriolic she is about this you'd think she's personally caught Sturgeon out laying speed bumps in the middle of the night. Her Dad also describes the girlfriend as 'staunch' SNP, which is amusing coming from a Mail-reading ex-copper. She nearly belted me when I threatened to ask him if that was a term he picked up at the Lodge. He's no even a Tory or a Rangersy type at all, which is bemusing. Oh and surprise surprise, both voted 'No' in 2014 and 'Leave' in 2016, even thought her father later admitted to her that they would be fine no matter what thanks to their big pensions, but he was really concerned for her because of what might happen to a woman trying to pay a mortgage on a middling income. So there you have it. The Britnat propaganda is so insidious it causes parents to prioritise the few years remaining of their own lives, which will be perfectly comfortable regardless, over the fates of their children who might yet live for another 40 years+. I've told her over and over to go around to the newsagent and fucking cancel their Daily Mail delivery, and direct them to something like Reuters if they actually want to read news instead of blatantly biased propaganda, but no, they'll no have it. Sadly, they're indicative of a generation that still hasn't twigged that 'News'papers are no longer anything of the sort, and only serve to promote the interests and agendas of their owners.

  10. I posted about struggling mentally after losing a kid and the coke was something I was rattling to take my mind off of things. He's posted before telling me to 'get back on it' during one of my sober attempts. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, I have to say that as it is my problems and I'll sort my shit out. Its just fucking weird that he'd bring it up alongside half and half scarfs and "never been to a foreign game".

  12. At the Killie home game in October there was an American boy in the pie queue telling folk he'd played as Motherwell on FIFA and looked out for our results ever since, so took the opportunity to abandon his wife on holiday in Paris to visit Fir Park in the flesh. We truly are #massive.

  19. ^^ Holla out to this boy, btw. A great laddie. I'd prefer a line was drawn under this all and we can get back to slagging one another. (Genuinely thanks though, it's been really heartwarming reading. I'm just going to go back to annoying folks now. Much love. x)

  21. Absolutely no hard feelings towards Toshney. Cant feel a shred of dislike towards him. Got a raw deal getting inexplicably dropped for Durnan and been bit part ever since. He was our best CH, and despite this, we sidelined him. He is made of broken biscuits which makes me not overly sad he is gone, but in footballing terms, our defensive record masks the fact that Toshneys time with Falkirk has showed up some of the worst team selection iv ever seen. Durnan couldn't lace his boots and we are now stuck watching him blundering about the place, constantly looking on the edge of a stupid booking/red and constantly letting the opposition in by not even doing the basics correctly.

  22. If anyone can take comfort by sharing their issues in here then it's surely a good thing? I've seen posts by people at their lowest points in here and I've seen people brought back from the brink by other posters. Belittling it and judging people for sharing their problems is frankly shite and makes you come across as an utter c**t.

  24. I didn't mind Rab and I'm not exactly Dele's biggest fan, but if he was goading Dele like that then that's fucking scandalous and Rab should be banned for good. Lower than low. Sorry to read about your struggle Dele.

  26. I've not got a great deal of interest in the game of the decade but nothing comes close to the TNS game. A dramatic comeback, two wonder goals, reaching our first final for 100 odd years, 800 Sons fans going wild after an absolutely superb day on the lash and Froxy running over to join in on the celebrations at the final whistle. The playoff final was obviously a great occassion but there was nae drama due to our domination. Game of the decade has to be based on more than just how we performed on the day.

  27. The Board have put their cards on the table and have been grateful for the increase in attendances but this is where the current squad need the fans more than ever to come out and support the team,if you hadn’t been in ages or can’t be bothered going anymore this is the time to force yourself to go and be the rallying cry the team needs,I know it will take time to get back to where we were but it’s clear the board want us to be successful,Sack the board has Been and gone now it’s time to back the team more than ever

  30. Posting the details difficult or tragic circumstances to a bunch of strangers on the Internet strikes me as unwise but each to their own: the frothing mess that people then turn into if some sad dotting war carries over to said posts is truly bizarre behaviour though. You'd think you'd have a wee bit higher priorities than rummaging through your old posts to check how many green or red dots they got and 'calling out' those who dished out red dots but here we are. The forum as a whole seems to be heading towards a Liverpool-esque theme of faux outrage at every turn, which makes most of GN unreadable garbage at the moment.

  31. There are obviously people who genuinely know each other on here, but to an extent the anonymity can be a good thing as much as a bad thing. For every troll who will have a dig they wouldn't in person, there is also the person who is able to share difficult feelings or experiences that they may not be able to in "real life". Anything posted in the depression or parenting threads should be totally off limits.

  34. Please don't pretend that any such move would be done solely to get two clubs access to the Premier league and its finances. What happens to the rest would be considered collateral damage. It's a horrendous suggestion.

  36. Tbh Diana's funeral was a bit half arsed when you think we could've had 50 people trampled to death and could've ineffectually fired some rockets at some French military bases.

  37. I've told this tale before, but the best thing about Diana's death was being in a taxi when the news came through on the radio and the driver being so distraught at the news that he couldn't bring himself to charge me for the trip.

  40. I'm quite positive about it personally. Feels similar to the appointments of Billy Stark and Gus Macpherson in terms of where he is in his career and I think he will do well. Going for someone inexperienced or on an "upward trajectory" from the Juniors or Lowland League would be a bigger risk I think (as would doing nothing) As for all the wee Falkirk and Morton fans on here and elsewhere , we are quite capable of forming our own opinions thank you. We heard lots of dire warnings about the two aforementioned appointments and they worked out ok!

  41. I never really had much dealings with Rab, From my infrequent visits over the last few years, I just thought he was a bit of an oddball. I remember quoting him once and he tried to insinuate we had some sort of run in before and I couldn’t stay away. I think it was the first time I’d engaged with him. When I saw people calling him the worst poster that’s been on here, I used to think they’d lost their minds after the O’Grady years. But from what Dele is saying, he seems to have been an utter p***k.

  43. Well the hearing could not have gone better, our daughter never showed up which helps our residency case. The social work laid out the reasons why the kids should stay under our care and not be returned to her. Maisie's dad also was there supporting us as he is very happy with the care and love she is getting, the lay people on panel were unanimous in granting us another 12 months child protection order and also limiting the supervised contact to every fortnight as it has been of poor quality and they want to see it improving. Now we have a proof hearing on 5th February at Falkirk Sheriff court to find out if we get full residency.
