Don't think anyone is burying their head in the sand. It's pretty much universally recognised that the numbers don't make good reading. However, it's a good chunk reduced from how it was the year previously. It's a step in the right direction, and doesn't include this season where the club have reduced the playing budget further and incorporated a part time element. We were never really in a title race last season, so every home league game from Jan onwards was a nothing game. Whilst Starks Park will never be filled to the rafters, an extra few hundred fans through the gate if the team are going for the title will help. I would imagine that going totally part time alone wouldn't make enough of a chunk in the deficit. Its also a far too simplistic view. A totally part time Rovers side would likely be pretty shite, meaning gates would be lower etc. Granted, another season in this league would mean we have to look at additional ways of trimming costs. The club are trying to address it. The best and most obvious route to help the situation is by winning promotion which leads to higher gates and greater prize money. The club have tried to maintain a competitive squad whilst reducing the costs, and have released initiatives such as the players fund which has almost £5k per month. Add to that a new hospitality/sponsorship lounge and a range of Cup anniversary merchandise that sold out very quickly. Nobody at Raith Rovers are sitting on their hands hoping this will go away. The harsh reality is that the club need promotion, and are trying to achieve that in a measured way. It's not burying head in sand. Its a complex situation that has no easy answer, but steps are being taken and there at least some small signs its moving in the right direction.

I don't tend to sign up for challenges like Dry January or whatever - but one thing I do try and do every year is a Bivvy-a-month (BAM) - basically non-campsite camping at least once every calendar month. It can be totally unambitious local stuff on a midweek night or it can be part of a weekend walking trip or whatever - no rules and the main point of it is to get more outdoors time. After succeeding in 2017 and 2018, I blew it last year as I didn't get a bivvy in july (annoyingly). I usually prefer hill summits but I mixed it up a bit last year and will probably do that again this year - anyone else up for it? Some examples from last year: Forest on Loch Ossian Pykestone Hill Summit Camp Eilean Molach, Rannoch Moor Midweek summit camp on Garelet Hill Lochan nam Breac, middle of nowhere.

As the 'guy who runs the Twitter' I was told at the time Houston's loan deal was for 12 months. I sought to confirm this before tweeting the story after seeing Rangers saying it was until January and the message back was: 'Gaffer [McCall] tells me it’s defo end of season with clauses for both clubs to end it in January' - which I think is standard for all loans. Hope this wee peak behind the curtain of how these things work in practice helps. While I can't claim to have never made a mistake or two since taking over the Twitter account, I can only tweet the information I'm told.

Don't forget that one of the reasons we are where we are is because the BOD have been enabled by a large number of our lickspittle fans who don't care how we play, or what league we're in, and just enjoy a couple of hours out the house every other Saturday and go every week regardless.

Yeah. 75% of the time it's down to some breakdown in communication somewhere along the line meaning the announcement gets unexpectedly delayed, 25% if time it's just me revelling in folk losing their shit.

Across the board clubs have seen increased interest (not all of them, but a lot), more sponsorship, better media/social media coverage, more professional approach to how they operate, improving facilities and yes better gates. Playing senior football and the ability to play in the Scottish Cup increases exposure and interest.

Broxburns crowds are definitely improving since the last two seasons in the Superleague. I know that some of it is down to winning the Conference last season and this years Scottish Cup run. But I think more importantly for the club in the long term is the product on offer and the cost of it. My two older lads have started coming to watch them on a semi regular basis which in turn has led to 10/12 of their friends doing likewise. It’s the cost of a pint in Edinburgh and they find it’s good place to meet on a Saturday before going out for the day. Think there are a few others doing similar. I have loved the EoSFL so far and the memories it has given. As for the other teams there are about 8/10 who must think they can do a Broxburn next year or the year after in the big cup. That was only possible for 1/2 clubs in the old Junior set up.

Could you point me in the direction of something to be positive about please? We’re 3rd in league 1, we’re playing mind numbing football, we have no academy and have lost all connection between the club and the fans. Not exactly a joyous time.

It was, thank you. I had a better day today and have been really busy. I went to view a room in a flat after work, that was hard but I’m ok.

Only 1 club averages under 40, with 3 clubs between 40-50. All other clubs range from above 50-400ish. East of Scotland clubs are getting pretty healthy supports regularly. Some more than others but that's football. Even the club's averaging 40/50 have a strong base to work from and can grow their support. I bet the club's with the lower support still get fantastic backing on the pitch and off it. The league set up has been fantastic and many clubs are improving their grounds and spectators facilities. It's all very positive from me.

I know you're only here to troll the EoS under ID number 127, however can you detail the 90%? can you detail which clubs have disappointed where you would have reasonably expected a decent improvement in crowds with a move to senior football.

We are where we are and deserve to be. The simple fact is we must get out of the current situation. Losing longridge and McManus would be a total disaster for our league campaign. Fact. If anything I thought it looked a little quieter than previous Bo'ness-Linlithgow games, the terrace behind the goal was pretty empty. At the time I presumed the weather might have had an impact. So now I'm wondering what attendances were in the past! Hi, former poster from long ago here. Sharing my story here because I need to put a physical "promise" of sorts out there that I'll go and get an appointment sorted out, or I'll just talk myself out of it. Longtime silent sufferer of social anxiety(10 years or so, im mid 20s now) , and due to that silence I believe its mutated into avoidant personlity disorder. Doing this because I was given the heave ho today by my work(administration type role in an office). Was for general poor performance, which I have zero complaints with, but it all stems from an utter reluctance and fear of having to approach people with issues needing solved. I siimply wouldn't do it until I absolutely had to, or my line manager asked about said issue and went and solved it himself. Created untenable issues, and they were right to bag me in all honesty. From a social context, it was a common occurence for me to spend the entire 10 hours of my shift in silence, other than saying hello and goodbye. I'd only ever talk to my line manager, and that was when he talked to me. When he went on holiday, it was silence from me for 2 weeks. This is a busy and closeknit office of about 15ish folk, where chithchat flowed freely for everyone else, and I was the odd one out. I just have a primal fear of any social interaction with people which requires some sort of prompting on my behalf. I simply can't see how I can hold down a job any fulltime job if I don't take action. Hoping by writing this will give me the baws needed to do something about it.

Might need to move this game to Hampden to accommodate the away support. Fucking hell.

I think our defensive record is more down to the paucity of opposition at this level than our defenders being any particularly great shakes. A decent ball playing cb would bring our midfield more into games and provide a better platform to attack, imo. Someone like Tom Lang at the pars or even Ciaran McKenna would have done ok at this level in this respect I reckon. Agree that Berra would be an unnecessary expense however. Cover at either fb position would be useful also. Assuming longridge and McManus stay on then someone with zip and creativity from midfield should do us ok. A mackem with nothing but surnames perhaps (Not itk just dreaming)

It's a stark reminder of where we are now - in the 3rd tier of Scottish football. To think a club like Livingston are in the top 6 of the Premiership whilst we languish in the wilderness celebrating beating Montrose & Stranraer. Jesus, I never thought I would live to see the day where players like McManus and Longridge could be pivotal to us being promoted from League 1. How we have fallen these are as grim times as ever to support Falkirk yet those at the route cause are still in charge.

Bo'ness Utd v Linlithgow Rose att / headcount of 1150 was higher than all 5 SPFL league 2 games and 3 SPFL league 1 games. Musselburgh Ath v Tranent was also higher than 2 SPFL league 2 games. We have a great product at the EOSFL & lowland league. As does the other areas of non league. There's an opportunity to make it fantastic in future.

I don’t think it’s disrespectful to point out that there are some potential spanners in the works for the ownership and finances (and by extension the continued existence and functioning) of the football club, which Weir had only recently purchased, while in ill health, and with other legal proceedings having been ongoing. None of this detracts from his generosity or disrespects his memory. They are matters having a bearing on the employment of something like 40+ people, and the continued existence of the football club.
