  1. I agreed with this comment so much that after reading it I bookmarked it for future quoting. I didn't think it would take two months though. When MC was named as preferred bidder he had only one job to do – convince the owners that he was a fit and proper person to take control of our club. The fact that he’s not in control this morning shows that he failed. Whether he failed to provide evidence that he had the money to back up his plans, or failed to prove that the money was clean, or failed to convince the MSG that he had the knowledge and skill to deliver his promises, or failed to give plausible explanations for all the negative press will probably never be known. The club will be wary of making statements which could be seen as damaging to MCs reputation and leave them open to legal action, so todays’ “no blame” statement will probably be the only comment they’ll make. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that MC DID fail. And failed, I suspect, because of his own actions, or lack of them, rather than what anyone else did. BPM has been proven correct. The owners eventually got it right too, though that doesn’t excuse them for the decision to afford him PB status in the first place. Or for the ludicrous fashion parade that the MSG decided was appropriate. One correct decision after a myriad of wrong ones does not entitle them to praise. One group who do deserve a bit of praise are BtB. They stuck their heads above the parapet and did what they believed was right. And got slaughtered for it. I hope those who criticised them at the time are now willing to concede that their actions have been vindicated.

  2. This whole shambles has to be considered the biggest disgrace yet in 10+ years of major incompetence. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain that this guy was a fantasist at best and a bad actor at worst. Picking this ahead of the fans' bid was done out of spite by the MSG/Board, make no mistake about it. Nothing sums the club up more than this morning - tweeting about Westlife while The Herald break the news, then having to throw something together which crashes the website in response. Lex and co need to hear us tomorrow.

  3. Darvel have many players that have played with other top junior teams and failed to topple the Talbot. If anything it may be down to what the manager can do different with these players , the mentality of the manager rather than the players. Beating the Talbot over 90 in a league game won't win the league , the same level of performance will be needed over the other 29 games because the Talbot treat every match the same Rossvale or Pollok makes no difference , Talbot don't showboat they always show respect whoever the opponent is. The mentality at the club is incredible.. Seen many comments about them being a long ball outfit , not as good as results suggest. BS Talbot squeeze the guts out of you , make you play in your own half , test your mental strength , it's doesn't matter if it's the 9th or 90th minute they believe the goal will come , the win will come. They have been for 40 years a fecking phenomenon.

  7. The injuries are a huge blow, but confident we have a squad capable of securing a play-off at the very least and, if Falkirk don’t get their act together, maybe even winning the league. Although that’s still an outside bet for me. Regardless of where finish, already this season has been night and day from some of the recent ones. The last few seasons I’d not even considered a three hour drive to watch the Rovers, but tomorrow I’m looking forward to heading up to Peterhead. We are playing some decent attacking football, have a manager who clearly knows what he is doing and players who all come across as hard working and professional, with no one thinking they are better than they are. I’d much rather have that than some of the charlatans we have had representing the club in recent years.

  8. "Your honour, the court may well have seen footage of my client attacking a fellow train passenger with a baseball bat, pummelling him to within an inch of his life. However, this court has no choice but to acquit him, on the grounds that the alleged "victim" did not actually have a valid ticket for that service."

  9. BTB HAS to be the answer. If you're against it because you don't like some of the people involved, then join up and vote to ensure that they don't get near the boardroom. It was fronted by maybe two people, plus one who's vociferous on here and other social media. I think there were supposed to be about 40 patrons. Surely folk can't have grudges against all of them? There is no-one else who cares for the club more than us fans. The next custodians have to be drawn from the fanbase unless someone with a genuine affection for the club and lots of money comes forward. And even then I'd want him (her?) to include fan representation on any board. No more Deans, Fulstons or Campbells please.

  11. Well, well , well ….first Sunderland and now Falkirk - why do they not want the bearded pound? Well I think we all know. It's been a long road and there's been a lot of shouty abuse to fans just trying to point out what a lying dodgy company closer this guy MC is. For me today is a great day for the club, to escape the clutches of this reckless fantasist is a wonderful thing and at least we know we will still have a club in 2 years time. Tomorrow will be different and the focus of blame should rightly be directed to the BOD for entertaining this fraud. Andy Thomson will be livid the amount of sucking up he has done for nothing. But today let us just celebrate this charlatan has finally been told to GTF. Watch him drop his Twitter disciples like a stone now.

  12. Took some supporters three or fours hours to work this charlatan out. Only took them 98 days. Outstanding stuff yet again from this mob. Status quo preserved, nothing to see here, just keep turning up and ponying up as we settle ourselves in for an extended stay in League One. As they always intended.

  14. Nonsense. Morton had 10 players behind the ball every time we were in possession. What did you expect us to do with it? I bet you're one of those people who boos when we pass it about at the back, and when we kick it long and lose possession. We'll see plenty of teams like that at Dens this season. We just need to patiently break them down, even if it doesn't make for a good spectacle.

  15. Whether MC was right or not, the idea of agents in the background really scared me and where we would go under MC and his backers. I think the right decision has been reached (if MC takeover someone else and makes a spectacular success then we can all eat humble pie). Now it's back to either Btb or Gow's bid and hopefully kicking on both on and off the pitch. As for people posting about embarrassment, I'd rather be embarrassed than end up with a Craig Whyte type deal any day of the week.

  16. Key infrastructure(Transport and Energy as a minimum) should never have been privatised in the first place. You are opening the country to the whims of people who don't give a f**k about the long term consequences of decisions that are aimed at making relatively short term profits. The magic money tree seems to have worked fine for the last 30 years. Why is it only a problem for Corbyn? No one believes that handing money to those at the bottom is going to solve poverty. We can all see that the current policy of giving as little as possible to them is working perfectly well.

  17. Campbell is just another Craig Whyte. He has f**k all but his tweets to keep him relevant. I think he's a sociopath and Falkirk are well rid, I'm not sure it's a "bullet dodged" as I don't tbink any party involved in that bid actually saw it coming to a successful end. As an outsider, it seems clear to me that every single Falkirk fan should back BTB now and your board should, from this day forward, have it known to them that anything other than accepting BTB will result in withdrawal of income and support on a mass scale.

  20. This has to be the right decision but it does not mask the truly shambolic nature of the last few months. This will take some masterstroke PR campaign to get out this unscathed. Scunnered with the whole club at the moment. We don't look like a team interested in winning the league, the board have to be the most incompetent collection of "business minded" people I have ever seen and again we lurch from one crisis to another.

  24. Whereabouts? My mate who lives in Detroit has a sister in law who is a nurse in Florida, even with healthcare and employee rates she can’t afford a basic prescription even if they go to a free clinic, she had an appendectomy in miami and couldnt afford the rates so is being sued for somewhere in the region of $200,000 inc legal fees. My mate works as an engineer for General Motors and his $1500 a month policy doesnt even include dental treatment beyond fillings, he couldnt get his head around the fact national insurance/nhs paid for my braces when I was younger and the rates we pay for things like crowns etc. If they need to get counselling etc its not covered by the policies, all private. Thats why there are so many homeless people with visible mental health problems, thats what will happen here when they go ‘for profit’. You only have to spend a couple minutes online before you see just how dire medicaid is. Fucking kids dying of cancer because their parents can’t afford the hospital stay, people buying fake insulin and dying because its shite and they had to pay other bills. Honestly f**k with the NHS at your absolute peril. If anything it needs to be constitutionally enshrined in law in Indy Scotland. Was in a shop in Nashville where the lassie serving was a single mother, her mum did the child care so she could work, but before the eligible period for health insurance in her work started her mum was diagnosed with Leukaemia, being the caring employers they were they allowed her to essentially have a donations bucket in the shop... People really need to get just how dangerous this could become and will if the Americans get their hands on it. We have access to some of the best doctors in the world, places like the beatson, canniesburn plastic surgery unit and the golden jubilee hospital cardio surgeons etc and its open to everyone.

  25. Heres the facts, the American congress is openly being targeted by lobbyists employed by private healthcare companies and pharma companies, they are lobbying to increase drug prices to the NHS by 2.5x and get access for private providers as NHS contractors. Jeremy Hunt literally has written a book on NHS privatisation. The congress has openly had members saying they will block a uk/us trade deal if NHS isnt on the deal. The UK is the minor partner in any deal, ie we need them post brexit far more than they need us. All of the above is fact, anyone who thinks the NHS is safe post brexit or in vermin tory hands is a fucking moron. Absolutely anyone who disputes this is too stupid to be allowed to vote and should go to a creche on the day of the election and spend their time productively playing with sand and writing their name in finger-paint. Or simply doesnt care about people being plunged into poverty. Please unionists, please please please prove me wrong. If not shut the f**k up, go back to ibrox and leave the politics to the adults. Indy isnt just good for Scotland, its fucking necessary. Ive travelled in the US extensively, seen people begging in the streets for money for prescriptions, diabetics dying because they had to ration insulin, people having to fundraise in shops for cancer treatment. I have American friends who pay £1500 a month in healthcare cover. Even then they still pay for prescriptions. Is that the future anyone wants here? Because thats what the tories want!

  27. Irrespective of the way the vote goes the club needs to make the most of its assets. It might be worth exploring a link with Glasgow City. Ground sharing would reduce costs and increase income. It would raise the profile of the new Hampden. TV coverage of Champions League matches. Better chance of getting good advertising. Could consider a joint season ticket which ought to increase attendances for both clubs.

  28. No tweets from the Bexley beast? Never mind, he needs to be conpletely and conprehensively deleted from the narrative. No credit to the board for this, it simply confirms the takeover as the very worst example of their incompetence in running the club and completely shite attitude towards the fans. They need to get something else going immediately. They already played their hands (root and branch review etc etc) and subsequently folded them in favour of baring their arse to a Lyle Lanley character. Go cap in hand to BtB, the patrons, Gowser... Anyone except these fucking wasters. Dont care what they did 20 years ago, the last 2 years are more than enough to justify their hounding. Absolutely killing this club. Oh and now Ray McKinnon is squarely their problem, not the poundshop Kenny Rogers.

  31. This chat from some people - “oh the SNP seat is safe here and I usually vote for them so I’ll probably vote for such and such instead” - is absolutely mental behaviour. It’s a clear battle between the SNP and the Tories, voting the Greens or any other party because you prefer them is folly. It’s complacency like this that will late Tories take seats. Worrying. If you want the independence agenda to remain at the forefront, if you want Indy Ref 2, you vote SNP. Simple as that. Vote for someone else after independence.

  37. So glad I never renewed my ST, these absolute jokers in charge of our club don't deserve our support. I had pledged to support the BTB bid but I'm not sure I would put any money in now whilst any of the board/msg are still at our club. I have spoken to others this morning who are of a similiar mind They treat the fans with utter contempt. They have handled this whole situation terribly, they were told at every turn that MC was not the genuine article but it has taken them over 3 months to work this out. They are a disgrace.

  44. Talbot have a knack of knowing where their place is when some club rolls along spunking money in the hope of success. We have outlived the wild spending of Kilwinning, Meadow and the Ford by simply taking stock of the situation, not going into a panic, not throwing money away to try and combat the threat. Sugar Daddy teams come and go we know that for a fact and if Darvel buy their way into the Premiership they will need to have a bigger war chest to even make a dent in the top half of the league. Forget about us, unless you meet us. Concentrate more how the best defence in the Juniors are losing goals every week.

  45. Hi guys! I’ve read with interest over the last few weeks the comments from a number of posters. We are, as we speak, in a really perilous position in OUR clubs history and it’s time that this whole sorry saga is put to bed. Both the MSG and Boardroom lack leaders and we are, as a club, rudderless which has left us in what can only be described as a fucking shambles of a state. It’s time for the MSG to put this saga to bed and NOW, not next week or the following week, NOW! If they are not prepared to do so, someone from the Boardroom please show some balls and step forward and do it for them. If it means breaking ranks, do so and I know you will be applauded for your actions. Enough is enough. We have allowed our supposed PR guru member of the MSG to let Mark Campbell “meet and greet” the supporters with another one of his brainchild moves which was nothing short of fucking stupidity on his part and he does have previous. Mark Campbell, if he had been the real deal and been a professional person would have declined the offer until he had the keys to the stadium and his antics over the last number of weeks have proven that he is, in short an egomaniac. We have a manager who is clearly out of his depth, who was backed to the hilt in the summer and is boring the 4,000 or so of us to death that are still loyally turning up with his turgid rubbish. I go back to what I said above, if we had a leader, the manager would have been emptied at the end of the season. His win percentage is significantly worse than Hartley’s was and no one has had the balls to deal with it. We allowed a Chief Executive and Chair in Margaret Lang to go hiring a manager when they both knew the square route of f**k all about football. £140k it cost us to get him in, stop and think about that for a minute.....and that’s before his salary. It’s clear, we have had people making decisions who haven’t known what they are doing and it is us as supporters and sponsors who are continually being asked to shell out cash to gloss over the clusterfuck of mistakes that have been made. We cannot trust them to make the right one with this takeover saga. Here’s what we need to do in my opinion, say thanks but no thanks to Mr Campbell, empty McKinnon now before I/we lose the will to live, disband the MSG and make significant changes in the Boardroom at the AGM, then take stock for a few months and try and create fresh investment when everyone has a clear head. As we all know, when your feeling the pressure that’s when the wrong decisions are made and believe me, we can’t afford to get this one wrong or our very future could be at stake. We all love our club, its our town and our identity so let’s, for God’s sake not get this one wrong. COYB!
