  6. Here's a chance for the MSG to redeem themselves: Sack Mckinnon, get Houston back with Lee Miller as his assistant with a remit to both get us back up and groom Miller to take the manager's job in due course. Houston was bad at recruitment but bloody good at organising a team and changing tactics if things weren't working. I believe, with a couple of exceptions, we have a good team who need leadership and guidance. Both are seen as Falkirk men by the fans and that would go a long way to getting the fans behind the team again. With the space this will buy them, get a new BOD sorted out - preferably with fan's involvement but at the very least clear out those involved in the bad decisions made in the last 3 years.

  7. It was an absolute sitter that any striker should absolutely bury, never mind one nicknamed "hammer". Criticising fans for not being happy at that is mental.

  8. McKinnon telling the Falkirk Herald that he likes McManus out wide because he can cut inside and Dixon is great bombing down the left. This c**t is actively trying to take the piss now isn't he?

  10. I'm presuming you mean £10 or £20 each time. I take it you've got something to do with the fundraising, but get that attitude in the bin. 75% of our regular fan base must have season tickets and 20% or so pay into the development fund. Add in 50/50 tickets, programme sales, lottery, hospitality and supporters clubs handing over cheques here and there, the small support we have do more than our bit financially. Every penny raised from 'pie for a player' will be massively appreciated I'm sure and fair play to those who contributed but you can't criticise those who didn't partake.

  11. Going to Firhill is a soul destroying experience. The smell of festering horse shite as soon as you proceed through the John Lambie Stand turnstiles sets the tone for the day. Said stand is packed full of grumpy, seething old men. They offer no encouragement or support to the team whatsoever, irrespective of the circumstances. The first mis-placed pass is met with howls of discontent. A hilarious, ridiculously misplaced sense of Old Firm-esq entitlement exists. For a lot of these old duffers, it’s just an excuse to vent for 90 minutes. 90 minutes of tedious, unintelligible, foaming at the mouth nonsense. The same people shouting the same shite every fucking week. I’m absolutely fucking sick of it.

  12. If Hendry is out for any length of time it really is play-offs at best for us. With the greatest will in the world we have three players who are notably above this level in S. Anderson, Hendry and Vaughan and without two of them we’ll struggle. Really feel for McGlynn. He’s put together a really good squad and is constantly battling a large injury list. Should be remembered regardless of how this season pans out.

  17. Shame on people who are spending their money however they like? There's folk out there who have to pick and choose which games they can afford to attend. Folk who don't have a spare pound or two come the end of the week never mind a spare tenner to donate. Spoken, it would seem, by someone who has neither witnessed or lived through abject poverty in their life.

  18. So what? Clubs don't all need to have their own one. They could have simply taken part in the one of the team they visit closest to the day. Surely that's the spirit of it all, and not desperate attention seeking disrespectful shite like we saw from the garage c***s Sevco today.

  25. Offft. My heid hurts. Drinking from 9 in the morning is nae a gid idea. Good day out yesterday. Thought the fitba was pretty rubbish overall, Boyd's goal was fucking brilliant but my god we miss Wallace. Tonks was not good yesterday so we needed someone else to be holding the ball up and we just didn't have it. Our midfield to front just didn't click yesterday. As much as Raith deserved it, the goal we conceded was very sloppy. Rovers will be gutted not to have taken 3 points, had at least two huge chances in the second half to wrap that up. I think there are positives for both sides there though. We managed to get a point with a pretty poor performance, and Rovers looked solid with half their team missing. That draw and Falkirk losing has tightened this league right up though, both of us will have to keep the momentum. Fair do's to the young team up the back yesterday also. Been a while since I've been able to stand and sing for 90 minutes, good atmosphere in the away end. I'm off to have about a million coffees to see this hangover off...

  26. Every team needs a goalscorer, we're creating clearcut chances that an out and out striker thrives on. He's here until January at least, with our forward players looking out on their feet in recent games, a viable solution could be staring us right in the face. We'd be foolish not to try and find a role that gets him more involved. Coming on for the last 5 minutes in games is laughable. On the whole, I think he's been treated shockingly to be honest and by all accounts he's still popular within the club and the toys are firmly still in the pram, to his massive credit to be honest. It's upto us to get the best out of him, you don't score those number of goals in your career without having something to offer. If he'd had Moffat or Forrests chances on Friday night, I'd be more hopeful of them being finished off.

  27. Just seen the obscene bullshit from Ibrox today on Sportscene. Huge display, loads of military folk, massive poppies on the Sevco players' shirts and a fucking cannon firing. No one can surely believe that any of it was in any way 'respectful' or that any of it was anything to do with 'remembrance'? Horrible, horrible scumbags.

  31. My Grandad lived on Stanmore Rd and would watch Queens Park, as a kid I’d go to the odd game with him. Mostly Scotland games at Hampden. The first game I properly remember paying my own money to watch Queens Park was a B&Q Cup game against Clydebank when they lost 5-0 or 5-1. I’d go every so often to games that intrigued me, Ross County and Caley Thistles first season in the league, that sort of thing. I’ve drifted away from Celtic as I’ve gotten older, general malaise at the same old teams capitulating at Celtic park. I’ll still go to European games, my dad etc still have season tickets and I can go when I like but to be honest I preferred watching 90s Celtic when fans went in hope rather than today’s spoiled lot who expect wins and it’s all rather meaningless. Anyway long story longer, Queens Park are my local team, I’d like to see them do well. I go when I can if it doesn’t clash with Glasgow Warriors games. As a local I know more about what’s going on with the potential closure of the bowling club and plans for the letherby triangle than I do with what’s potentially happening with Queens Park and the move to Lesser Hampden and any plans for developing the ground there. They need to put themselves out there a bit more and engage. It seems ridiculous that people in the area would have no idea that there’s a game of football going on in the giant stadium on their doorstep every other Saturday and not just at cup finals and Scotland games.

  32. We somehow need to get the passion back at the club. It’s missing from the top down and it’s now missing from the match day experience. I’ve been watching FFC for 56 years and I now couldn’t care less if I miss a game. I blame the board over the last five years and they have stripped the life out of the club. Something must change and MC is not the answer.

  33. Fair play to the St.Mirren fans for not suffering a "Hillsborough type crush" forcing open the gates, intimidating stewards and the like. Yet another example how proper, decent fitba fans deal with adversity. Bit of a shambles from our end and hope lessons will be learned. As for the game it was not a classic, the win probably flattered us. Real Saints looked a lot more compact than last season and like us struggle up top, we had plenty of the ball but so desperately need the number 10 position filled if we want to push for 3rd again.

  34. Those adverts are very shady. I wonder how many customers of these firms were shiny families in lovely new build houses who just had a boiler break down. I doubt an advert featuring their typical customer would go down well. Although maybe DA Baracus could have appeared in one “Stuck with no money to finance my winning idea of a sexualised adult pram, only ‘QuickLoan Quids In Phree Munnee PayDay Loan Company’ would hep me fund my dream. Sadly no-one wanted to buy my depraved invention so now I have to suck off sailors for food as I’ve given all my money in repayments. Thanks loan sharks!”

  35. Just watched McKinnon's interview & it all looks and sounds very familiar, it's the stuff of Barry Ferguson, Jim Chapman & Berti Vogts. It gets to the point with these guys they just say words that are randomly going round their heads because they don't know what they're doing. "Started poorly but got better, well a wee bit better....it's the players fault, well it's all our fault...no doubt we score first we win...we SHOULD be winning every game....we'll analyze everything, think about what we'll maybe need to bring in, but we'll all stick together" A total mess. Thing being with the league being as tight as it is, still likely Falkirk will be in the top 3 come the turn of the year pushing for the title, so it's hard to see him being given the boot. It's also very hard to see him being a manager long term, all the signs are there. No doubt you'll be told he needs time to get it right. Oldest one in the book We've had Danny Lennon almost exactly 2 years and what he's done in that time given what he inherited is nothing short of remarkable. He didn't need time to get it right because he's a real manager. Perhaps the most impressive thing he's done is fixing what was badly wrong in the summer so quickly. He's also nurtured a good dressing room, talented young players with a little bit of experience that work for each other as a team. That's the difference and why we won yesterday Just wish he finally had a full squad to choose from, unbelievable how long these injuries seem to be taking

  38. More engagement with the local community would be a good start. I go to watch Queens Park 4/5 times a season, I’m a well wisher more than a fan. We’re 4 streets from Hampden (second avenue), in the 6 years we’ve been in this house there’s only one instance that we’ve been made aware that Queens Park are playing at Hampden, we got a card through the door prior to the Clyde game one Christmas/new year to make us aware Queens Park were returning to Hampden after the commonwealth games. Surely something as simple as letterbox drops in the local area could get extra bums on seats? During the winter break for the premier league maybe push the fact that there’s still SPFL football happening in Glasgow?

  42. Came along as a neutral today, but expecting Falkirk to probably win the game, how wrong was I. I thought Clyde were excellent and how I longed to have a management team that could get Stirling playing the way they did. For as good as Clyde were, I thought Falkirk were as equally poor. It’s been said above but the substitution baffled me, even I could see the biggest impact going forward was Longridge and yet he was the man to make way, Falkirk did nothing going forward after that.....the less said about Sammon the better. Absolute worldy from Darren Smith, cracking strike from a cracking player. Well done Clyde [emoji1319]
