  1. Clarke seems to be making the exact same mistakes as his predecessors. Accepting the Scotland job?

  2. There's no point playing Fraser and Robertson if there's no one to feed off their crosses. Sorry, I forgot that Robertson has only been effective at Liverpool since they signed Jan Koller.

  3. At this point I'm pleased Boris fulfilled his predetermined destiny and became PM. At this stage there can be no bones about it, no what if fantasies for him or any of the electorate. No doubts that he was the best PM the UK never had, if only someone had given him the keys. He has been, in double quick time, gloriously confirmed as the entitled, grossly over-promoted numbskull charlatan that he is. And the added cherry is that this is the hill HE chose to die on; HE chose the leave side as his course to the top. GIRFUY ya fucking arsehole.

  6. McBurney will get a lot of shit tonight - with some justification, because he was of no use to man or beast - but being in the ground and seeing just how isolated he was, you had to feel a bit sorry for him. He was trying hard, but there was just no-one fucking near him for the whole time between our goal and the substitutions. For basically an hour, people were just punting the ball up to him against four defenders, and seemingly expecting him to trap the ball on his eyebrows and then score a Maradona. The rest of the team was way, way too deep until it was much too late. Obviously Clarke is the best candidate, needs time, etc, etc, etc, but he really should have changed things at half-time whilst we were still in the game. I'm not a fan and I'd start personally start Snodgrass on Monday, but it's not fair to pick out McBurney as the main reason we lost that.

  10. Excellent. No idea if he'll be any good, but it's nice to see that John McGlynn, while publicly claiming the defence is fine (as you'd expect), hasn't actually gone doolally.

  12. This will be the manager's issue I'm sure. Maybe the player as well if he's spoken to TW about it. Nobody will have a problem with any fan having an opinion on a player but there is a leap from that to some of the personal, and frankly disgusting, stuff that is not only said about Kane but he has his name tagged into as well. The predictable response will be, well he'll have to be thick skinned to make it, or why is he on social media but really, no, he shouldn't have to deal with this nonsense because folk shouldn't be such arseholes.

  13. In my time of watching lower league Scottish football, I have watched more useless lumps than I can count trying to play like a Sutton brother. If they have a bit of talent for their level they can be like Chris and bring the ball down on their chest, back into the centre back, draw a foul. If they don’t, they can always be John, just be an absolute big b*****d battering people with their elbows and somehow getting away with it. I have seen many centre forwards who’ve tried to do these things to varying degrees of effectiveness, from a solid thrid tier lump of shithouse like Michael Moore who could fight his way to double figures every season, to utter wastes of a shirt who should never have been allowed near a professional football team like Kevin Kelbie. Over all those years, in all those horrific teams across many levels, I have never seen a centre forward so obviously devoid of any kind of positive footballing attribute, so clearly miles out of his depth on a pitch, as Oli fucking McBurnie. Get him launched into the fucking sun.

  16. The thing is, when you look at countries who are similarly sized as us and doing well, they are usually gifted in the defensive department. For all the talk about Wales with Bale, they had a very solid Ashley Williams who was playing consistently for a decent Premier League side and then a couple more options who were near that level (James Collins and Chester). NI have Johnny Evans who has always played at a good level. We're just not capable of defending and we don't have centre backs near that quality to give us that spine. I get it's pish but it's utterly delusional this cycle we go on where fans cry out for Scottish based players in retaliation of Championship players not being good enough and then the reciprocal. Halkett or Lindsay or whoever isn't going to step into that and be much better - you can't expect someone to step into that team from a low level and instantly transform overnight, it's delusional and we see it with O'Donnell. We need a couple of players who, regardless of what country they are playing in, are much better than what we have. There's no game plan where we sit back and can soak up pressure and then we're never going to be good enough to out football teams like that and go on the front foot. Ever since we lost David Weir, the issue seems to have gotten worse year on year. Martin and Hanley were the best we've done since that era and both of them seemed to massively regress (although Hanley is back in the top flight after a bad season with injuries). We badly need McKenna or Souttar or someone else to get a big move and make themselves a star.

  20. Didn't renew our ST's not because of relegation, not because I expected this season to be turgid (which it is) but because I am utterly scunnered with just about everything to do with FFC at the moment. I have only been to three games so far this season and am actually quite surprised how easy it has been to stay away and I am what I would consider to be a pretty hard core fan.

  21. You guys have got yourselves an absolute diamond in getting the Big Man. His success in his first ever managers role with a club like Rossvale, who have very little budget, not many fans, and now no home of our own, is nothing short of remarkable. A league title and a promotion to the Premier League in 2 seasons...... never saw that in my wildest dreams. And as any of you who were at the recent Clydebank v Rossvale game, or even last year's League Cup tie, will testify that he did it by playing the ball on the deck and with a bit of flair. He and the rest of the backroom team will be a massive loss for us, but even allowing for the timing, he goes with no hard feelings and only best wishes from everybody at the club.

  23. They weren’t cautious IMO. They were very much affected by a lack of direction on how to open up a team that wants to keep it tight. The problem is middle to front, more emphasis on the middle and the complete lack of ability to be creative enough to create chances. 11 goals between Sammon and McManus shows they know how to score. But the service in those away games was non existent.

  33. Marshall O'Donnell Cooper Mulgrew Robertson McGinn McTominay McGregor Fraser Christie Forrest Let that front three interchange, Christie can drop deeper if we want a 4 man midfield defensively and it means your midfield is narrow enough that there's space for Robertson to go beyond. Forrest is disciplined tracking back which should allow Robertson a bit more freedom. There's pace in that team and everyone in it is comfortable on the ball.

  42. The only patently absurd position here is the one you hold. Your constant misinterpreting of events that leads to your constant misrepresentation of these events is draining. You go on and on but provide little in the way of evidence to back up what are merely assertions built on your misinterpretations. There are people who were actually in the room when much of which you misinterpret was discussed and dismissed yet you refuse to accept what they say. Patently absurd. The Juniors were not blocked by the EoSFL or the LL and this is quite simply a fact. The WRSJFA would have been in the pyramid now but for the SJFA leadership shackling their entry to the entry of the ERSJFA (note, not with the NRSJFA so no entire Junior entry was ever envisaged by the SJFA anyway). This too is fact. What was blocked was a parallel league in the East. Another fact. To view matters in any other way is patently absurd. You know this, I know this and, indeed, everyone reading this thread now knows this. Why does it have to be constantly repeated for you?
