You guys have got yourselves an absolute diamond in getting the Big Man. His success in his first ever managers role with a club like Rossvale, who have very little budget, not many fans, and now no home of our own, is nothing short of remarkable. A league title and a promotion to the Premier League in 2 seasons...... never saw that in my wildest dreams. And as any of you who were at the recent Clydebank v Rossvale game, or even last year's League Cup tie, will testify that he did it by playing the ball on the deck and with a bit of flair. He and the rest of the backroom team will be a massive loss for us, but even allowing for the timing, he goes with no hard feelings and only best wishes from everybody at the club.10 points

The "I just want this over with" sentiment is such a dangerous thing, imo this is what fascists and extremists want the general public to say so they can dissolve our rights and write whatever rules they want to benefit them and their friends, not the country.9 points

You seem to be lost in one event in the series, without offering any cognisance of what preceded or proceeded it. Saying no to a terrible proposal that happened to include the juniors while offering a second, more workable solution that included the juniors != "Blocking the juniors". Run of events: 1. Unworkable plan presented by the SJFA 2. SJFA members vote to accept it "all in" 3. North dropped from "all in" by the SJFA, reason speculated as being lack of interest 4. Plan presented to PWG 5. Lots of back and forth in PWG, seemingly ltd of misunderstanding and certainly lots of misinformation around done deals etc 6. Eventually the proposal is called to a vote by members of EoS and LL 7. Priposal declared unworkable by 100% of EoS and LL clubs, not on the basis that it contained the juniors, but that it unnecessarily had two geographic league's in the same region, one containing clubs who could never be promoted, as had been speculated for over a year 8. Counter proposal put forward by the EoS that included the juniors. West structure intact at Tier 6, East clubs joining the EoS at Tier 7 (Conferences), Tayside clubs in a Tayside league. The West were invited to join for this season, delaying the East and Tayside for a year for further discussion if required 9. SJFA do not take that proposal to their membership 10. Impasse reached, meaning the SFA declares no Juniors for this season Now, you are of course free to interpret that as "The EoS and LL blocked the juniors", but clearly you would be wrong, as has been pointed out several times. They said no to the first (terrible) proposal, a position which was consistently held throughout, which happened to include the juniors. They then put put forward a pragmatic, workable alternative, which also included the juniors, which would have seen the juniors in the Pyramid right now. Is your argument that proposing a workable solution in place of an unworkable one, that would have seen all West and East Junior teams in the pyramid right now, was actually them actively blocking junior entry? If so, you can understand the ridicule that position is being treated with by some, surely.8 points

If your football team was playing extra time in a 'boring to watch' cup final, would you just want it to be over one way or the other? I want brexit to be scrapped one way or another. I don't want the majority of folk in the UK to have a worse life just so that I can stop being bored with brexit.6 points

It's certainly very impressive how the team you chose to support purely because they kept winning trophies have won a trophy. Well done, you.6 points

I have been meaning to come back to this for months now and I haven't done but now is as good a time as any. Believe me when I say that the feelings described in my first post were some of the worst I have ever felt, and certainly the worst bout of depression I have ever experienced. It all centered around feeling trapped in my job and not able to get ahead, destined to do unfulfilling work forever. About a month after that first post (around 19 October 2018) I got a job offer that was remarkable. It was at a more reputable employer, in a more senior position, and for 20% more money. Three forward moves in one go. The work wasn't challenging for the first six months however it was painless, my colleagues were decent and the environment is nice, low stress. Since then, I have been pushing for more challenging work and getting it, and also passed two exams since then (waiting on results for the third and feeling confident). I have started going to the gym and seeing my body getting built, and I have become super confident and reasonably popular in the workplace. Financially, I am in a good place, and have a good chance of a promotion which will more than double my income in the next six months. I am feeling consistently happy, relaxed, and seeing the beauty in the world. I am taking chances and doing things I always wanted but never realistically saw for myself - took my young nephew to a music festival on the continent in the summer, took a couple of trips abroad, climbed a couple of mountains, and am away to Sweden with the other half next month. Now I am realising that this beautiful woman who has stuck by me for years is, in fact, suffering herself with some feelings of blame, low self-esteem, irritation (possibly depressed but she hasn't said it) and I get to now be there for her. I am not trying to show off. I have never forgot posting on here last year - it was my only time posting on this thread and I remember this thread was the only place I could talk to because no-one knows who I am on here - and have always felt I should come back and let you all know it can turn around. Stay in there, keep your head up if you can, and believe that one day you will feel alright again.6 points

I follow this thread daily but the case from both sides has become tedious and repetitive. It does seem so obvious if proper moves are made to form an independent Pyramid-friendly WoSL (by the SFA or others) it will wake up the WRJFA and they will then have every incentive for the 4 divisions of the WRJFA to move over "en-bloc" to the SFA Pyramid to avoid being dismembered. The movement of the WRJFA to the Pyramid will then encourage movement of clubs within the ERJFA as they will perceive themselves as a lost cause. The key strategy must be to start forming an independent Pyramid-friendly WoSL without delay. NOW!5 points

They haven't, they've simply vetoed the absurdly ridiculous proposal that was put forward and offered a workable alternative which the SJFA, for reasons unknown, has decided doesn't suit their agenda.5 points

Former Cabinet Ministers may or may not have been meeting bilaterally with key European heads of government/state to reach a common understanding about what length of extension is likely to be mutually agreeable to the European Council and the House of Commons. If you want the real reason for the withdrawal of the whip, this might help you fill in some of the missing pieces. Incidentally, the original “plan” was for an extension until 22 May (just before key votes on the EU’s next multi-annual financial framework) but Labour MPs in Leave heavy seats shat the bed about a 7 month or so extension. Hence the ask is a slightly useless additional 3, which if offered is only really long enough for an election and a cosmetic renegotiation rather than a referendum.5 points

It was Theresa fucking May who personally prevented any such 'cross party strategy' by shutting them entirely out of the decision-making process, battering on with the Bunfield party alone to produce a monumental turd of a 'deal' and try to ram it down everyone else's throat multiple times. Just because her successor has proved even more useless doesn't mean we suddenly get to revise what happened under her premiership. Pish. It was an advisory referendum that has proven unable to be implemented in any acceptable way, given the Parliament that the people subsequently elected to handle the issue in 2017. If there was consensus support for one form of Brexit in the country then there would have been such a coalition in Parliament: there isn't, because there's no such 'mandate' in the country. Another election is by no means likely to change that fact either.4 points

I'm not sure I quite agree with your first paragraph. I'm not sure what parliament could have done to 'find common ground'. Theresa May set a course very early on, in which she; a) Set off down a truly jingoistic path of 'Brexit means Brexit', 'Red, white and blue brexit'. b) Set up a set of ridiculous constraints on negotiations with her red-lines. c) Simply refused to even countenance cross party discussions (under pressure from her own party) d) Returned with a terrible deal, which she thought was a fait accompli. She couldn't even convince her own cabinet that it was any good, let alone her wider party and which no opposition party could possibly agree to, because it was at heart a hopeless deal, constrained by her own hubris/red-lines. We are here because the Leave campaign promised things it was impossible to deliver and 52% of the population liked the fairy stories. I don't blame Parliament for this and I don't see it as obstruction. In my opinion many are simply acting as responsible stewards and have so far helped the UK avoid the fvcktastrophie that is a no deal Brexit. Yours aDONis4 points

The only patently absurd position here is the one you hold. Your constant misinterpreting of events that leads to your constant misrepresentation of these events is draining. You go on and on but provide little in the way of evidence to back up what are merely assertions built on your misinterpretations. There are people who were actually in the room when much of which you misinterpret was discussed and dismissed yet you refuse to accept what they say. Patently absurd. The Juniors were not blocked by the EoSFL or the LL and this is quite simply a fact. The WRSJFA would have been in the pyramid now but for the SJFA leadership shackling their entry to the entry of the ERSJFA (note, not with the NRSJFA so no entire Junior entry was ever envisaged by the SJFA anyway). This too is fact. What was blocked was a parallel league in the East. Another fact. To view matters in any other way is patently absurd. You know this, I know this and, indeed, everyone reading this thread now knows this. Why does it have to be constantly repeated for you?4 points

An excellent picture of the old meeting the new at Hampden in 1993 Edit: looking at Mantis's picture from the previous page, you can see why they never put seats into the concrete gap in the new east stand as the side/roof of the old main stand would have obscured the view of the pitch. The top of that section of the new east stand was subsequently built over to become part of the top tier of the modern south stand.3 points

Quite the little Mr Sanctimonious when it suits, eh ?? Everyone agrees with the sentiment that the wee scuzzball was probably playing billy big bawz in front of his blue brethern and what was said was truly disgusting. However, for a died-in-the-wool bigot like you to assume the moral high ground due to the original message containing a wee dig at you and yours, your transparent and fragile morality comes very much to the fore. Luckily, most regulars here are fully aware of where your true morals and beliefs are, so . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .3 points
