  2. I wasn’t planning on buying a season ticket this year as I think I will miss a few matches. I intended to just buy tickets for today’s match but as I stood in the queue today I remembered that to support Dundee - well, the pleasure the privilege is mine.

  3. Where will the goals come from? Why has Mcglynn brought Anderson back? Mcglynn doesn't care about the young players.

  4. If you couldn't make it to the game and/or want to see the key moments again, our highlights are edited and will be on the Rovers' website at midnight. If I'm up I'll post them on here as well. Rovers fans - The next two games are a bit of a challenge to get highlights out quickly as the RaithTV crew is light on numbers next week and the games are a fair distance away. It'll likely be Wednesday night for the Ross County highlights and Sunday night for the Stranraer highlights, the manager's post match interviews will go up around this time as well. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

  9. I can't really be bothered saying too much after that utterly predictable shambles of a performance given I've already had to relive it, then try and fix the GoPro, but here we go anyway. I'm 99% sure this is the worst Dumbarton squad I've seen. There is a horrific and terrifying lack of ability right throughout it. You could count on one hand the number of players who you would say are technically good. Sure we've got a few who are hardworking jobbers...But other than that, nope, we are awful. I honestly have no idea what we do with the defence, because they've been all at sea absolutely all season. It was horrible watching Crawford today, and Duffy did the right thing hooking him, because he was struggling massively. When he came in he looked so confident and far more mature than a 19-year-old taking his first steps in senior football, but since being destroyed at Cappielow he's looked a shadow of the fearless player he was. Quitongo had a howler and can't jump, and Neill is at fault for at least one goal every single week. McGeever should've done better than being brushed aside at the first, but at the moment pairing him with Carsy would be our least worst option imo. I thought McMillan was awful today, and those years out of senior football look to have seriously taken their toll. He was slow to react, clumsy tackling and spent more time shouting at the referee than anything else. Further up the park McKee, Carsy and Hutton don't work as a trio. They all get in each other's way and there's no width at all. Ideally I'd start McKee and Carsy in a 4-4-2, but we need Carsy at CB and cloning humans is frowned upon. Crossan and McCluskey work hard, but they've had very little impact between them since the Annan game. PJ is technically decent and very skilful, but also tries to do too much too often. Can't blame him given how isolated he is 99% of the time. McCluskey meanwhile covers a stupid amount of ground, but just fails to ever look dangerous. His finishing is miles off what we're needing, and his final ball is really poor most of the time. Given how far off it Layne looked when he came on too we've got serious issues at both ends of the pitch. Now, aside from all that, Falkirk will walk this league. Trust me. They were so sharp today and are packed with really talented players; Connolly, Tidser and Telfer are glorious footballers to watch when they're in that mood, Sammon was excellent and McManus did what he's always done at this level - score goals. They looks miles better than the Arbroath team that basically strolled it last season, and if they don't have it won by March then McKinnon should be emptied.

  10. As weird as this might sound with him being the oppositions manager I was hoping for an applause for Lennon from the South stand pre match, a wee tannoy message wouldn’t have done any harm imo.

  11. Boring? Aye seeing your team score 6 including a couple of brilliant team goals in what was the best first half of football at TFS in years was absolutely shite. Was longing for the shiteness of Paul Hartley and his squad all afternoon. What a fucking weirdo.

  19. You could tell that Dundee were the better quality team but at no point did they really slice us open - neither team had any particularly great chances. The ref was fucking awful but it would be a bit of a stretch to say he cost us the game. Dundee will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season though and I’d be happy for them to pip their arsehole rivals to the title. P.S. got a third off with my well out of date student card. Thank you x

  21. You and that other guy who insists on slating Raith (despite the 5 goal victory and not even bothering to attend the game) are a right pair of tits. You should consider joining forces...Scottish Chuckle Brothers anyone? I hope for the sake of your club that you two are in the minority.

  23. Bunch of absolute delusional simpletons. The only mistake of any significance he made was messing up an advantage when Dundee were through on goal. There was literally nothing contentious all day apart from that, unless Ayr fans wanted Jordon Forster penalised for being taken out from behind. If that's a horrific referee, it's going to be a very long season.

  29. Seething? Erm, no. Simply enjoying posting some comments on an open forum while nursing a chunky Kit Kat and a large mug of coffee. After a hard morning painting the fcuking dining room. You post this ‘seething’ bollocks quite a lot. I’ll tell you what would get me ‘seething’, and it isn’t a team miles and miles ahead of everyone else. I’d seeth a bit if my own team roll over and play dead against the other teams likely to be in and around us. Accies, Livvy, County. Celtic will likely scud us by five, six, seven. I genuinely couldn’t give a fcuk.

  31. Everything Caldwell boasted about pre season / at the end of last season is (predictably) turning out to be pish. He said he would get a better replacement for Doolan. Miller? Mansell? Jones? Really? He said he would be the fittest team in the league due to starting pre season early. But the players were absolutely knackered after about 70 minutes. He said he would have a defined style style of play. Yet I have no clear idea of what that style is or what we aren’t actually trying to do? The guy is a charlatan.

  32. If Davies has asked to leave with a payoff and/or having no intentions of getting fit and attempting to repay the club on the park then he is a thieving scumbag in my eyes. The only way he could leave with any shred of integrity is if he offered to leave without a pay off and letting us rip up his contract.

  33. They all start off like that tbf. The 'sensible adult in the room' talking about fiscal deficits and unnecessary risks. The mask always slips though, and when they're caught out the zoomerism takes over. By the end they're sharing Facebook posts of Sturgeon's head photoshopped on Jimmy Krankie and commenting 'Wee Nippy has been trying to get this picture banned from Facebook, let's share the hell out of it to show her No means No'

  35. Ive only read the first page but thought I would add my tuppenceworth. I was a season ticket holder for 7 years at Parkhead. I’ve drank in near enough every ‘Celtic’ pub in Glasgow and seen both ends of the spectrum when it comes to the fans. From my experience there is respectable fans who want nothing to do with singing the rebels or going to the game to make some political point (there’s more than you think). These are the minority at the games, especially away games. Most of the fans I know that fall into this bracket don’t go to any Celtic games at all. These fans usually lead quite fulfilling lives and Celtic aren’t the first thing on their mind when they wake up. Some Celtic fans will try and tell themselves different, but it’s the absolute dregs of society that associate themselves to it, genuine poverty cases. There isn’t many lecturers, lawyers or architects standing amongst them. I got bored of it all, I go to football to watch the team on the park win and when I walk out the stadium it won’t affect my life win, lose or draw. I used to sit near a guy who had a season ticket with his two young daughters (both under 10) and I witnessed him punching the wall on the way down the stairs after a draw against Motherwell I think it was. A big part in me chucking my season ticket was asking myself, would I like to bring my child to a game here, surrounded by some proper mutants who don’t have a button in their pocket. I hated these Celtic fans thinking we had some sort of special bond with each other just down to the fact we both supported the same team. I have no loyalty or affinity to a fellow Celtic fan just because he happened to support the same club, it’s quite strange Two seasons ago, my St. Mirren supporting friend from Uni talked me into going to a few games and it’s a far more enjoyable experience. I’m not a die hard by any stretch of the imagination but I try and go along to most home games. It’s good to sit amongst a support that are only there for the team, and not there to make some political standpoint or seeing what songs they can get away with singing.

  37. Just back home and it was a very narrow win. Nothing between the teams for much of the first half with both sides snatching at occasional chances. It was a great save by the home goalie but we could not agree on who fired in the shot( Fordyce?) and that looked like the only close thing in that half. It was a long clearance by Airdrie and Dillon did seem to dally which let Smith get in front of him. None of us expected anything (from the faraway stand) and it was a surprise when the award came. It can only have been because the assistant deemed his contact with Smith was not a genuine attempt to play the ball ( new rule this season) and thus a penalty and Red card. I would have been annoyed if given against us but we have had a few dodgy ones already. The blootering of the ball into the stratosphere was probably seen as correct to the home fans, but it was dire to us. The second half let Airdrie go with two upfront and I thought we did deserve the goal . However after that it was all Montrose and those free kicks were really close-we did waste many corners as well but I will take the ugly three points. Our hybrid PT/FT mix does not give us much of an edge over a well organised PT side . The four changes made from last week were needed but it was quite a cautious approach a usual. This Jury is still out on our creative/attacking control but the back four were solid and Smith looks really good. Still not convinced with Wedderburn but thought Roberts had a good game. The two alleged wingers rarely broke through. A similar start to last season in reverse -lose to Forfar/beat Montrose. We look like a top four team but alas so does everyone else ! Now for the Bully wee and more penalties and todays Ref was on a par with most officials in our League.

  38. Todays crowd figures pretty much mirror what we got when QOS came to visit last August. (4026 / 4060) If the crap and bilge of today can be reproduced on a regular basis then I don't see any reason why crowds won't increase.

  47. I was working late tonight so just caught up now. We were nowhere near as good as last week, but I don't think anyone in our support saw that particular performance coming after our pre-season and brief league cup campaign in fairness. Tonight saw a few familiar flaws on show, especially in the first half after Thistle took the lead. We seemed cowed after going behind and it was a nervy performance on our part until half time. McMullan seemed completely unaware that he could try something other than attempting go past his man on the outside in the first 45 mins which was particularly infuriating. Butcher should have been booked after 2 mins. Aside from a great clearance after Siegrist palmed a cross into the penalty area, I thought Smith had a poor first half. Also, as much as he's impressed me in pre-season and at Tannadice last week, Appere had a difficult game. I thought we should have probably taken him off around the same time as Stanton as he looked a little drained and was noticeably slower in tracking back to help cover when Thistle attacked down his side. Clark isn't offering anything out on the left, he's only going to be staying in the starting line-up if Neilson decides to drop Appere once Pawlett is temporarily fit again. Despite that, I felt there's a lot of positives to take away from tonight. Robson, aside from being beaten by Saunders for the goal, had a great game (I do hate to agree with Billy Dodds, but he was our MotM tonight). Stanton put in another non-flaky performance, justifying staying in the team at the minute. Shankland had little to no opportunities, but still managed to scaff himself a goal. My first thought was Partick's keeper had absolutely flogged it, but on seeing replays I'm thinking he possibly might have been a little unlucky with the bounce of the mishit into the turf, combined with the defender's attempt to block perhaps slightly obscuring his view. He certainly didn't cover himself in glory with the winning goal though. It's excellent for Pawlett to get that confidence booster and a really good way of getting our fanbase to move past his stinking opening penalty in the play-off shoot out disaster. Ultimately, the big positive take-away tonight was coming from behind to win. That's been a huge issue for us for a couple of years now, it's very encouraging going forward to have managed to to do it tonight.
