  1. It's not intended to reduce their income though, even though some do financially benefit from their association and influence at the club. And no I can't clarify that, for obvious reasons. The boycott is intended to hurt the club. If the custodians care about FFC, rather than only themselves - as they claim - then they'd consider if their presence was damaging it and whether it would be better for them to walk away. I believe some are willing to do that. Others think they know best and are enjoying their positions too much to contemplate slipping quietly off into the night. Oh, and can we please desist with the phrase "unpaid volunteers" when talking about the board? Someone who has the power to change the salaries, working hours & issue redundancy notices to FFC employees who've been there for decades should not have such an innocuous title. It's suitable for Jean, or the FFC TV guys, or the folk who sell raffle tickets, work in Hospitality or help out with kitman duties. It certainly doesn't apply to club Directors.

  3. Not the first time on here I’ve read comments along the lines of ‘St Mirren were just lucky that Dundee were totally fcuking shite / had the worst Dundee manager ever / were lucky that an earthquake hit Dundee’s training ground / were lucky that Dundee’s best players contracted the plague.... all fcuking shite, and all fcuking wrong. Again, have a look at our last ten to twelve results (or thereabouts). Many excellent St Mirren results, at places like Tynecastle and Pittodrie. Many good, tough wins, dug out at venues we traditionally struggle at. Fcuk all to do with Dundee being pish, everything to do with Kearney’s St Mirren taking care of our own business. To your point, Kearney never transformed the club, but did a horrific job and was woefully out of his depth. Again, simply shite, and simply wrong. From where we were - in a brief period at our club, it was transformed under Kearney. It case you had forgotten, a part-time PE teacher, came into a disaster club, and the first thing he did was to get a valuable point off Celtic. A team who regularly roger us up the Neil Doncaster by several goals, and where getting a result off them is as likely as next year’s Dundee derbies being played in the top flight of Scottish football. Next thing he achieved was to absolutely reconnect the fans to the club, to the players, and to build a whole positive vibe around what was a Norwegian Blue of a football club. Again, all achieved in a short time, by a part time PE teacher with little understanding of St Mirren FC. A man who was initially overlooked for our gig, came over at the second time of asking, with no outward sign of his nose being out of joint - and frankly, transformed the club from where it was. Now, was Oran Kearney Pep Guardiola or Bill Shankley? Clearly not, but let’s nip this ‘he was shite and so were Dundee’ pish right in the bud once and for all. We achieved what had looked impossible under our own steam. We were never, ever, simply praying that Dundee kept losing - hell, we nearly reeled Accies in too. So, away and shite. Now, we can move on to this unseemly Scott v Kearney bout. What a clusterfcuk. St Mirren’s PR... it’s not just bad, it’s non-existent. With Tony opening his gob and warbling ‘top four club’ pish, to Gordon opening his gob.... Jim Goodwin’s first act as manager should be to gag both of them and lock them in a cupboard for a week. Just shut the fcuk up, both of you, and get on with signing some fcuking players that might give Jim a fighting chance. Rant over.

  4. I’m beginning to think your BOD are going to f**k you guys over. Why wouldn’t they embrace a fans take over? They’d then know that the clubs best interests will be taken care of. I’d be very suspicious of their motives here, I cynically think that when/if they go, they’ll empty your coffers before doing so. Going by what I've read on here it sounds like this lot are dragging their heels, and that can only be to get the best deal for them and not the club. No wonder you guys are totally raging, these fuckers look like they’re only out to look after themselves no matter what damage it does to your club. I hope you can hunt them to f**k out as I hate those type of c***s that use clubs like ours as a piggy bank.

  10. How many of our fans wanted an explanation from Gordon Scott about the clubs version of events during the OK departure. They get his side of the story and still he gets criticised from all angles. Why the f**k did Coleraine feel the need to issue a statement if they had done everything above board. Coleraine are fucking at it here and so is Kearney.

  11. We beat Rangers three times in Glasgow last season. Only team to beat them at Ibrox, and did it twice. McInnes was the only domestic manager to beat Rodgers' Celtic at Parkhead and we were the first Scottish team to take anything from there last season. I'm not one of those who thinks McInnes can never be criticised, but this isn't a fair one at the moment.

  13. Fuck up Lex you moron. I refuse to hand any more of my hard earned cash over to people who view me and the fanbase more generally with such contempt. The board hate the fans, at least the vocal fans who don't just meekly turn up for a shout at the ref without a real care what the score is. If I have to sit it out for a year, two years, three years then I will. I am not giving another penny to Martin Ritchie, Lex Miller or any of the rest of their fluffers who wish I'd sit down, shut up and pony up my £20.

  16. The transfer dealings appear to be positive so far, but we still need 4 or 5 more. The squad simply isn’t adequate for the league campaign, it’s inconceivable that this squad has either the quality or depth to compete. No amount of positivity can cover this IMO.

  17. We've now been out the premier league 10 years. In that time we've challenged for the championship title once. We've had one dreadful managerial appointment after another whilst clubs like st mirren, livi and hamilton have managed to appoint managers that have seen them get promoted on smaller budgets. We've gone from having a thriving academy that kept the club alive and brought in sizeable sums of money to having no academy, no money in the bank despite having made a million pound plus profit a few seasons ago and after all that we are now in league one. The money spent shouldve been more than enough to see us challenge for promotion not get relegated. Add to that the complete and utter shambles off the park where fans have been treated as total shmucks . I fail to see how anyone can still back this bunch of complete clowns.

  20. The JT statement is fine if not exactly a lesson in brevity. There are parts I agree with and one part I think is complete and utter bollocks. They, like so many others, fail to see the difference between being a selling club, which we clearly are, and a feeder club which we are clearly, for now at least, not. The takeover is clearly happening and could be brilliant but to throw in a disquieting thought I hope those facilitating it, especially if they stand to benefit financially, know (or care) what they are doing.

  21. I actively will every Scottish team to win with the exception of Rangers. That includes Celtic. I've never personally met a Celtic fan or for that matter a Killie fan that I actually dislike, but Rangers fans are, on the whole, odious c***s and I have no desire to see them succeed in any of their endeavours. I hope that answers the question.

  22. Not having all this criticism of GS. He’s our chairman and everything he does is for the good of our club. Kearney can f**k right off. He’s totally worked his ticket here to get back to his cushy non-stressful life. He couldn’t hack it and worked his way back to being part time boss of some shitty wee club. He should’ve had the balls to be honest about it.

  25. Is Gordon Peden an office bearer of the JT? The statement is okay aside from the verbosity (it's catching) but there is nothing in it that makes you feel reassured about the takeover if, like me, you have concerns. A Google search on a couple of people doesn't count as due diligence in my book.

  29. Not putting money into the club whether that is not turning up at games , replica strip , programme , Pie and Bovril does not help the survival of the club. Protest after games at how the club is being run, that is the way to go. Those that remember the protests outside the Brockville stand will know what I mean. The lane between the incinerator and the stand packed top to bottom. Police escort for them to their cars then a further police escort to get them out of the area. As I remember it the route was. Alma Street - Gowan Avenue - Grahams Road. Ridicule and home truths being shouted at them for 20 minutes, it leaves them with something to think about on the way home, far more effective.

  32. In late 2010 early 2011 I had knowledge of two pieces of confidential information relating to the Football Club. 1. They had gone into “Time to pay” arrangements with HMRC to pay PAYE and VAT. At this time, this wasn’t,anything too unusual as many companies had entered into these agreements as the country had been in recession. 2. I came home from work one night and was told “ Your football team is being wound up”. Knowing about the “Time to pay arrangements” I messaged a former Fans Rep ( a big bloke) to ask the guy who was the current fans rep at that time (a bloke who I didn’t know) Had we defaulted our payments ? We’re we being wound up ? The fans rep at the time duly asked the questions of the board and General Manager at the time, and was given 100% assurances payments were up to date and the information I had stated was not true. This information was relayed back to myself. Within two days the club announced they had defaulted and had been issued with a winding up notice. This was then followed with a fiasco of a meeting in the main stand, that I’m sure many can remember. The point of this is, the board have lied to the fans for years and cannot be trusted.

  33. This is the ramblings of a total moron. You might not have noticed but the USA women's team aren't attempting to qualify for the mens world cup. Why are people so obsessed with mens teams being better than womens. THEY ARE NOT COMPETING AGAINST EACH OTHER. Who cares. Imagine Serena Williams winning Wimbledon and people complaining that Djokovic would beat her in 3 sets or she might get put out in round 1 by a middle ranking player like Opelka. You just sound like a total misogynistic idiot. So your point is that women's football lags so far behind males that it is not worth watching? I don't follow that logic and if you only watch the best football in terms of pure quality then I am guessing you are just a Champions League fan boy who doesn't really like Scottish Football? As said in another post I really enjoyed the tournament, the standard has notably improved from previous editions and I think people should make a concerted effort to get behind Womens football. I love football, its brought me a lot of great memories/friends and I (along with many other sane people) want as many people playing it as possible. If I were to have a child whether boy or girl, if they want to play football I would want them both to have lots of opportunities to do so, not just one of them based on the chance of being born a certain sex. But I guess that makes me "weak minded" unlike you.

If your reading this my son is delighted with the CP Company coat he got there I wouldn’t normally clutter up a thread like this but he seemed a top bloke and him or one of his mates is bound to be on this thread. 39. I’m confident we will finish top 4 this year. Although the squad is underwhelming in parts, I think he has a better blend of players than Aitken did. Aitken’s were all too experienced and played in similar positions to each other. This team has a blend of experience and youth that will hopefully make the team hungrier on the whole. Well that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.

  41. I wouldn't sign Boris, he's pretty hopeless and all he's good for is winning headers, and tbh the fact he's been brought back into the fold shows just how desperate Duffy is, so this pish about "waiting to get the right players in" is exactly that, pish. I'm entirely unimpressed with Jim's approach to this window and he needs to do a lot to win me over now.

  46. Sunday was a cracking day to head into the interior of Rum, going past the Rum Cuillin on the path to the west coast at Harris, and then up to the beach at Kilmory Bay with views over Skye. Rum is the thinking man's Skye - completely devoid of the tourist traffic that blights the latter throughout the summer. There wasn't a single other person on the tracks going across the island, a handful of cars on the entire island and the amenities are there for the locals to use instead of screwing fat American tourists. A superb island for a weekend away.

  47. You clearly don't have a fucking clue what free speech means. The Far Right seem to think that freedom of speech is freedom to say what they want. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. It never has. While free speech is something to be cherished and upheld in any civilised democracy, so too is the right of the public to protest, complain and push back against hatred and bigotry. We are all free to say whatever we like, but it doesn’t automatically follow that what we say will be received positively by either the public or our employers, and nor does anybody have an automatic right to be given a ‘platform’ to air their views. It’s also not surprising that the Far Right twist and distort what people like Robinson are being prosecuted for. I saw one moron complaining that people were getting jailed for just “name-calling”. That, in itself, is a complete fabrication – no-one has ever been jailed for name-calling but for a criminal offence. While people come across a lot of material on the internet that offends them, a small proportion of it is actually illegal. Hate material online is recorded by police as a 'hate crime' when a crime defined in law is committed with hate motivation. When online material is hate motivated but does not meet the threshold for a criminal offence it is recorded as a 'hate incident. In many ways the law doesn’t go far enough – it doesn’t deal with the reality that every time Robinson appears and incites others there is an increase in attacks on Blacks, Asians and Muslims. He and his ilk need to be chased back in to the gutter where they crawled out from.
