Hiya pals, Was going through the archives of this wonderful thread and came across the above post from early 2017. Since the chat of the Teckledome (aka the Neu Campy) has tapered off, I'd completely forgotten about the proposed Derrification of the Kingsway area. If we're really going to make it our new home (Dens will always be home, imo), I think it's time we got something like this built in direct juxtaposition to the V&As architectural dominance, as well as offering a much-needed visual threat to anyone entering/exiting the city that isn't a Dee. Rio De Janeiro has Christ the Redeemer Newcastle has the Angel of the North Argonath has Isildur and Anárion But what other city in the known world has a giant, bronze statue of Fabián Caballero? Fucking nae-c**t, that's who. Get it done, Dundee. Build the Cabby Arch and get this bloody stadium built. PS. Sign a fucking striker, tae. Thank you.15 points

Peter Grants cup final header is the single best moment of my time watching Falkirk. In that split second I was 100% convinced we would win the cup and I celebrated like we had.9 points

Took our dog, Saint and my sister in law's dog (who is our dog's sister) Scottie out yesterday morning. Scottie has recently decided she fucking loves big sticks, cried when I took it away from her for a second. Took them both out last night too, Scottie managed to stand in her own shite, I also luckily spotted a skunk before the dogs did and turned back the way we came as quick as I could, two sprayed dogs and me would have been a disaster8 points

f**k sake. I saw the thread had grown by a few pages and thought we must have signed someone. So disappointing to find it's just everyone laughing at Randomguy again.8 points

The fact @Kyle has bought a child bride will be glossed over if we sign Stevie May today. For that reason, I'm prepared to wait until tomorrow.8 points

If people would like to link the article rather than screenshotting it then that would really help me justify spending a ridiculous amount of my working week on DFC stuff to my employers7 points

Seriously, please just shut the funk up. I'd imagine very few Dundee fans are interested in your input/conjecture. Your seemingly endless tripe is completely irrelevant. It's a DFC forum; your team are obviously in the pink at the moment so enjoy it without subjecting the Championship forum to your inane obsession. You come across like an ex-girlfriend needs to have the last word. Heat map yer arse.7 points

No. Occasionally used to play fives with one of the girls in the Scotland ladies team because her dad played with us regularly and she'd come along if we were short. Quite a few of the lads were very decent amateur players but we couldn't get near her without fouling her. The US women are clearly miles better than that too. I can easily believe that a low level mens professional or semi professional team could beat the USA but the idea a bunch of random blokes could is nonsense.7 points

The grounds don't provide anything, other than occasionally electric connections or elevated positions. If you think of Alloa away games the filming was done from the back row of the gazebo. I think everything goes out via dongles so it just depends on what the signal quality is like. If somewhere as utterly backward as Greenock has mobile reception then I imagine Stranraer and Peterhead will have too.6 points

"Today's mascot is RussellAnderson, he's 25 years old from Peterculter and his favourite player is Niall McGinn!" I adore him. I've said it before, but no player has scored as many *good* goals as him in my time supporting Aberdeen. He was also the first player I can remember who didn't f**k off after his first good season. I can still remember when he signed that 4 year deal after his first season, it was off the back of Fraser and I was convinced he was away. Leeds were interested IIRC. He stayed, and he became an Aberdeen hero. If he wins another trophy, he's a legend.6 points

Friendlies Start on Wednesday and after we have played the buffs , beith , kilbirnie and Kilmarnock before Hurlford , glenafton and Auchinleck it’s safe to say we will know where we are at before our first league game at home to Renfrew first Saturday In August . The place looks superb and we look forward to what we believe will be one of the most exciting seasons for a long time5 points

They're both as horrible as each other. Just depends on who you happen to be playing at that point in time.5 points

I find the continual comparison utterly bizarre and a little sad. For what it's worth I play junior football and think the US womens team look far more comfortable on the ball than my peers. That being said I think a few of the guys would just be much faster etc and set pieces would be tough for them. Ultimately though its pretty pointless, pretty disrespectful and is just an attempt to degrade something which sorely needs respect rather than mockery. I really enjoyed the tournament and have decided to make a concerted effort to try and support women's football more than I currently do.5 points

Cummings and Berbatov up front sounds pretty tasty. Two signings that are about as likely as finding an aesthetically pleasing Dundee United jersey.5 points

By all accounts Wilson is a great guy and top to have about. On the park, he's one of the most inconsistent centre backs I've ever seen, very prone to error and is incredibly slow. With Gold there was always potential though he probably never fulfilled it at Shielfield, while McKenna was always far better than us and it's no shock to see him make the impact he has. To say it's a surprise to see Wilson make this step up is an understatement. The flipside is that Dick Campbell is far likely to get more from him than any of the shite we've had in charge. He'll recognise his weaknesses and won't have him trying to play out from the back as though he's Pique whenever he's needed. He's always been a trusted figure in the dressing room (sure he was captain at 21), he's still relatively young and he may fare better in a better team, especially if deployed as someone who's there to head bricks and with a partner quick enough to cover him. Good luck to him.5 points

SPFL YouTube channel have made their own, official, Saints scudding Dundee season 18/19 compilation video. Nice chaps.4 points

From what I’ve seen of them both, I’d much rather have Ross in my team than McDaid. That’s one position where you’re upgrading on last season.4 points

Another close season, another absolute panic because we're several players short with a few days until the season starts. If we don't mount any sort of challenge this season then Nelms needs to consider his position. Making the same mistake every close season is fucking ludicrous.4 points

Why don’t we wait to see what the guy does for us before writing him off , never met so many negative fans in my life , remember all those fans 2 years ago who wrote off a certain Mr Shankland before he kicked a ball for us4 points

We've signed a distant relation of Clarence Seedorf. Good or bad, this will be some laugh.4 points

Bachmann had played even fewer when he came to us last season and he's only a year younger. Bachmann turned out to be one of if not the best goalie I've seen play for us, so I'm definitely willing to give this boy a chance.4 points

Yeah it’s hard to see anyone challenging Falkirk, I think they’ll win it pretty comfortably. If we can finish clear in second I think we’ll have done well. Wouldn’t dread the play offs quite so much now after finally winning a tie. We have the basis of a solid competitive league one side. Any further success will depend on a few things: 1. JM continuing from his previous sides making us a fit, organised, hard working team which is greater than the sum of its parts. 2. Loan signings will be crucial as they usually are. I’d still like to see us add a striker and a winger. Hopefully McGlynn gets his number 1 target striker he’s spoken about as well as a good quality winger. 3. Injuries. It’s been done to death but they absolutely killed us last year. Getting a full season out of the likes of Vaughan, Hendry and Dingwall would make a huge difference. Stating the obvious but if the 3 points above go to plan I’d be confident of securing second and having a real chance in the play offs. If any of the above don’t work out as planned we could struggle. I’m pretty optimistic though, I have a lot more trust in McGlynn than I ever did in Smith. It is night and day compared to the ill prepared shambles we had at this time last season. All the signings brought in seem to be done so with a view to how they fit into the team and complement the others around them. I never really felt that was the case with Smith he just signed what he thought were good players with no idea how they’d fit into the way he wanted to play, Spence/Buchanan the obvious examples.4 points

10/10. Bit of a lucky guess on the last question.4 points

Pretty much this, a real shame as I too thought he'd end up being our record sale at that sort of level. Even though he's at Morton I really hope he can start to refind that form as he's a player I really liked here.4 points

Just so I am clear with this - are St Johnstone and Aberdeen supporters pouring over Craig Samson's playing statistics?4 points

Its ok, given the apparent frequency with which he researches debt collection agencies, one can only assume they are onto him and will remove any internet ready devices from him soon... The fucking gimp.4 points

A little latter than usual today. Time please! Little & Large @Ziggy I’ll show my workings Slip, I reckon there are 128 players in the competition, if that’s right then that’s 127 matches multiplied by a guess of 41 games per match. My guess is 5,207. if there aren’t 128 players then i’ll guess Honshu. v @German Jag 4000. Based on 64 1st round games so 127 in total. Avg. of 3½ sets per match and 9 games per set. & Mary, Sue & Bob @The DA Worked out via an insanely complicated secret formula to be 4,590. @Ross.I think there are 63 ties in the mens tournament. 29 games per tie would seem a little low, so I’m saying 35 is closer to the average. 35 * 63 = 2205 games. v @blackislekillie FAULT Novak Djokovic won the Mens Single Championship at Wimbledon in 2018, 6-2 6-2 7-6 against Kevin Anderson. A total of 29 games were played in that final. How many games were played in the entire tournament (mens singles only). 4,734 games Congratulations to @Ziggy & @The DA See you in the future.4 points

You've changed and I like it! To be honest it was a case of if a monkey stood in an election with a red rosette I'd vote for it. But I am heartily sick of the English shite. They are effin bonkers and are willing to drag everyone into the shit with them. And I cannot get my head around why people in poverty would vote for these b*****ds.3 points
