  1. Thought I'd put the Forfar v Morton score on this thread, as there are more Morton fans on here, than their own. The Loons gave them a good shooin, 1-0.

  3. Agreed, she is female and gay, she rightfully uses the attention she gets to highlight the issues there are in the USA with an idiotic president who is absolutely nasty to both women and gay people. Good on her for using her chance to highlight these serious issues.

  4. That was utterly bizarre yesterday, I've really no idea what to make of it - but given I was expecting a minimum of a 5-0 defeat I think I'm pretty confident in saying that we'll win the league. First up I thought we looked fit and sharp which, for the first proper game of pre-season, I really wasn't expecting. McKee, Langan and Hutton were popping around some really sharp wee passes early on, and the fitness and general pace of the team looked decent. There no doubting there's some solid lads in there who won't shirk a challenge too. In terms of the new signings, I thought McCluskey looked as lively as he usually did against us for Morton, and I can see what Duffy saw in Crawford. He's clearly not the finished article, but he's some size for a 19-year-old, strong, quick, brave and was buzzing up and down the wing all game without tiring. With the right coaching it'll be interesting to see how he develops. Neill didn't have the best of times; I'm fine with him just going and chucking himself at things, but he looks like he really needs an experienced head alongside him to talk him through the game. The penalty he conceded was maybe a bit soft, but it was a needless risk to take. Not convinced by Pettigrew either, his decision making when dealing with crosses was poor and he didn't look at all comfortable with the ball at his feet. Brennan was solid again when he came on, but given his form for Brechin last year I'm a wee bit concerned about our goalkeeping options. As for the trialists, there were a few I'd be keen to sign up; namely Rico Quitongo and Joe McKee. Quitongo looked pretty comfortable in a totally new look and very inexperienced back four, and played like a guy with more first-team experience than he has (e.g. virtually none...). I liked how much he spoke to everyone around him too, he was the only vocal member of the backline at times - which I wasn't really expecting! We knew McKee would be a good signing before kick off, but he definitely proved it today. He was always looking to take the ball, his passing was by and large excellent, and he took his goal very well. Looked fit too, so I'd be delighted if we brought him in. Liked the look of Langan as well, but I'd be keen to see him get 60-70 minutes on Tuesday before making a decision. If we sign McKee on top of Hutton and Carsy I'm not sure we need another centre-mid - unless he can play elsewhere? Zata took his goal well when he came on, but meh, I'm not sure he was as polished as the others. I'd like to see Crossan get a bit more gametime too, as he showed flashes. The big guy up top was mental. Like I've no idea if he was amazing or awful. If he was a normal size and build then I might be able to judge, but he just looked so damn ungainly that I've no idea how good he was. Got himself in good positions, scored with a nice finish...but who knows what'll happen there. The other trialists (I think I've covered them all here...) ranged from meh to nope, and I'm not sure we'll see a few of them again. All full of excitement for a bonanza of signing news prior to our 0-4 defeat to Hamilton on Tuesday now...

  6. You've changed and I like it! To be honest it was a case of if a monkey stood in an election with a red rosette I'd vote for it. But I am heartily sick of the English shite. They are effin bonkers and are willing to drag everyone into the shit with them. And I cannot get my head around why people in poverty would vote for these b*****ds.

  8. Agree totally. I've followed Falkirk since the late 60's and lived through the Dean's and Fulston eras. This shower of rats vomit have fucked me right off with what they have done. It may be down to the fact that some of them claim to be Falkirk fans and were trusted more. I think we are all mature enough to know they will make mistakes...and we can accept some.... but their reaction to those mistakes and the sweeping under the carpet of certain stuff like it didnt happen, is not the actions of people who care about the club and supporters, it is the actions of people who only have their self interests at heart.

  9. With regards to Scotland. I would argue Tories are not our worst enemy. They are in the open. They hate us and we hate them.....thats fine. The UK Tory party is a joke in Scotland. But.. .... Remember who hid McCrone, allowed Thatcherism despite 50 red mp's and annexed thousands of miles of Scottish sea on the quiet....why?....still not been answered btw .....also... took a hundred years to finally deliver a Scottish parliament....and when it did so took steps to ensure there could be no majority..no power. (that turned oot well) The whole time seeing the communities it governed; and pretended to care for...slowly expiring. ......Labour. All the time pretending to be yer pal. There is nothing wrong in having centre right political/economic views. It is a reasonable political opinion to argue in a normal country. Most successful nations have a strong centre right focused economic political voice. They are elected and then a few years later a centre left is elected and on the whole.... .society progresses. Thing is....we do not live in a normal country. We live in one, whose political elite raped and pillaged a large part of the world right into the first half of the 20th century. We call them "the establishment." They are found in both the Tory and labour party. In the 2nd half of the 20th century the rest of the world called them out. They were finished.... However.....they still retained the mindset. For the last half century, they have not had access to steal the rest of the world's resource.......... so they turned on stealing from their own country. That is what has happened to Britain.

  11. They are somewhat bizarrely behind the paywall on our official site, considering it was a closed door game which wasn't mentioned at all by us I find it odd that they're on there at all and that they're only available to subscribers. Also, the highlights feature both Caldwell and one of your coaching staff blocking out the action at either end. Both our goals came from us dispossessing your players (first one the #5 , second one Gomis) about 25 yards from your goal, both your goals came from crosses, the first one headed in by Connolly who outjumped McGinty who's about a foot taller than him, second one looked as if two of our defenders got in each other's way and the #9 had all day to take a touch and finish.

  13. i thought Danny Denholm was the best player on view, always looking for the ball, always willing to take on players. He could easily have scored 3 or 4 but he needs to improve on his finishing. Lewis Hunter continues to improve, nothing flashy - wins the ball, passes, and moves on. Offensively we are OK. Wallace,Dowds, and Duggan will score goals-ably assisted by Denholm,Dunsmore,Smith , and Hunter. In midfield yesterday I thought that Agnew was too often caught in possession . Defensively I thought that Watson at centre half first half , and Dunlop centre half second half were the best defenders. There were no problems with Higgins but Murdoch could certainly improve his distribution. Not much to choose between Slattery and Waugh - if he signs. AS far as goalkeeper is concerned, Jordan Hart played hisfirst game yesterday.Based on what I saw, I must admit that I prefer Brett Long. I thought that Kirrie played well yesterday and were impressive opponents. Putting the football to 1 side, the main talking point was the absolutely delicious steak pies, topped with a slice of black pudding, served with a coffee, and sold as a Meal Deal for £2.50 . Kirrie were a decent side. The hospitality in the clubs Social Club was first class. All in all - a good day out.

  16. No. Occasionally used to play fives with one of the girls in the Scotland ladies team because her dad played with us regularly and she'd come along if we were short. Quite a few of the lads were very decent amateur players but we couldn't get near her without fouling her. The US women are clearly miles better than that too. I can easily believe that a low level mens professional or semi professional team could beat the USA but the idea a bunch of random blokes could is nonsense.

  19. Unfortunately this will never happen. The SFA are never going to change the rule. Premier League clubs are raiding our youth system and openly walking away with our crown jewels and we can't stop them at the moment. These clubs will never change a rule to eradicate this and make themselves pay tens of thousands of pounds in compensation. The wording in the Hibs statement on the signing of Steven Bradley says it all. He was signed after "the expiry of his youth registration with Queen's Park". The fact that he was our player and we offered him an amateur deal before his registration ended meant nothing. He left and we were due absolutely zilch! 3 others did the same to different Premier League Clubs. These Premier League Clubs or the SFA won't change the rule. We, however, can protect our investment. We have it in our own hands to stop this injustice and make these clubs pay proper compensation. If they don't we have the joy of seeing these players develop further and play longer for our first team. For me the choice is professionalism and a great youth system we can be rightly proud of. If we stay amateur, we will cease to have this as we can't afford to develop young players for others benefit!

  20. I'm glad I am not the only one who on finding out the guys name was Christian, googled wingers named Christian! That wasn't a fruitful search as I ended up looking at some bible bashing Americans with fairly fascist views. Transfermarkt was my next call and I came up with the same man, (just didn't have the courage to post the fact that I spent my Sunday morning looking at wingers named Christian) However seeing your post has given me the confidence to out myself aswell. I bow down to your superior YouTube foraging though!

  23. Married my wife last August and we’re now expecting. Went for a our first scan a few weeks ago and found 2 heartbeats... took me a few seconds to figure out what that meant [emoji23] we’ve now had our gender scan and found out we’re having twin girls. Absolutely buzzing... not too hung up on the genders, as long as both are healthy then I don’t care. Due date is 25th Nov but she will probably be taken in a couple of weeks early. Only concern is the financial side of it, we both do alright for ourselves, have just moved into a new build and both have a car but me being self employed means I really can’t afford to take too much time off so I’m basically working 7 days a week right now to try and build up some savings. Think I’ll really struggle with the lack of sleep, I could easily sleep 12 hours a night right now. [emoji23]

  31. Was pleased to see Sammon getting stuck into the Thistle defender in the pictures on the official twitter. We badly need someone who can do that. Apart from Rudden, our strikers last season were so utterly incapable of bullying any defences, and even he struggled at times just due to his age and lack of physicality. If Sammon spends all season cleaning out defenders to make space for someone else to bury the goals, bring it on.

  32. Right, back to Føroyar. Up north, to Klaksvík on the island of Borðoy which you reach by the 6.3 km Norðoyatunnilin which goes 150m below the sea bed at its lowest point. It costs a whopping 100DKK (about £12 ) for a return crossing but locals buy a season ticket and get it for 25DKK. You are charged by number plate recognition and pay at a fuel station. Klaksvík is the largest town after Tórshavn, 5000 people, and is home to the fabby brewery Föroya Bjór. Kí have won 17 championships, second only to HB of Tórshavn with 23. Here's a few shots of Klaksvík including the ground from up the hill.

  45. Well done today lads. I’m really enjoying reading some of the Dundee United meltdowns on Twitter. As a reward, and because I’m waiting to go for my dinner on holidays, I’ve compiled a commentary of this momentous victory through the medium of ‘dank memes’. Previous friendly cancelled and only a few players of any quality signed. The match day squad is filled with ‘lower-league jobbers’ and trialists: James Duffy Esq. reacting to drawing 0-0 at half-time against Championship opposition, who albeit have played 2 games in the space of a single-day: Dumbarton take the lead through Trialist #16: United equalise through Shankland: Dumbarton re-take the lead through an emphatic finish from Trialist #7: Dundee United equalise with fifteen minutes left after Morgyn “Very Handsome” Neill fouls Aperre in the box. Aperre himself scores the penalty: A mere three minutes later, Trialist #17 disposes Mark Reynolds before showing some trickery and slotting the ball home. This goal prompts unrivalled tears over at @dundeeunitedfc as some of their fans cannot comprehend losing a pre-season friendly:

  46. I disagree about the "Tory scum out" banner. As a 14/15 year old boy at high school I would walk along whitburn main street at lunch time at my break during the miners strike. In getting along to the shops, there was a stall outside the main store in the town at the time where anyone could donate a few quid or food to help the miners and their families who worked at Polkemmet Colliery. I would often give my lunch money and go without that day to help out,one time when donating one of the miners broke down in tears when I told him it was my lunch money I was donating. When I think back to that time now,I feel nothing but anger to a party and Thatcher that tried to crush people in the way they did,to see proud working men reduced to begging will stay with me forever. So I'm sorry, scum is what they are and that's being kind to them. They have no interest in the ordinary man on the street or for Scotland's wellbeing only what the can bleed out of us.
