You support Celtic or Sevco if: A - You are a sad pathetic glory hunter B - You are a dirty bigoted individual You can be both or either but you can’t be neither.10 points

Too many people buying season tickets and kits for my liking. Don’t give them anything until these c***s f**k off.9 points

I wasnt going to wade into this debate but here I am. I think anyone who says they arnt attending due to a "bit if noise" follows the wrong sport. Football is loved across the world for the atmosphere created by fans, have the boys to stop supporting, singing and banging a drum because it upsets a few folk? If its medical reasons then fair enough but being pissed off at a bit of noise borders on pathetic. I am not for one moment denying the support that wilf or anyone else has given the club over the years. Anyone who gives up time, money or otherwise to help the club should be applauded, however there is a young group of fans coming through, they should also be applauded and encouraged.9 points

I dont want to sound racist but I'd love a big white unit like Mark Canpbell back in the team.8 points

Right. Playoff question... Don't think we had this before, but, if we have, why not think of it as an extra fun memory quiz! How big is the Grand Canyon, in square miles? Edit: better tag people in. @Christophe and @scotfree, nearest guess earns/retains a top flight spot. @mathematics, @NJ2, @Tynierose, the best two of the three guesses will be playing in the second tier. @Cardinal Richelieu said it was only one of you but that's because he is a massive fool. I've tagged him in, just so he can see what a massive fool he is. Edit to the edit: no, @Cardinal Richelieu was right. It is only one of the three. Turns out I'm the massive fool. Better tag myself in, just in case I forget to read this. @Bully Wee Villa. You twat.8 points

I'd say that having an old fashioned stadium helps in some ways with away fans how many times on here so away fans state that they can't wait to come to Somerset so they can stand and enjoy a throwback7 points

As others have said, if you play him as a LWB you'll absolutely love him. Good pace, strength, skill and a good crosser of the ball. Got a decent shot on him too. Not so good at full back, although I don't think his defending is as bad as some have made out. He's OK in a one to one situation when somebody's trying to get past him, not afraid of a tackle and tends to win most of those situations I would say. His positional sense is lacking though and he sometimes panics a wee bit in tight situations which led to us losing a couple of goals last season due to him hitting the ball across his own box. I do think the deficiencies could be coached out of him though. I think he would have torn L1 apart as a wing back and was really the only player that we lost that I was bothered about losing TBH.6 points

I agree with the posters saying Celtic isn’t the best place for a Scottish youngster to develop and excel their game, but he will definitely be getting more first team experience here than at Norwich. Going by the Motherwell fans on here he has been consistent in saying he will only move to a team where he is guaranteed to be playing week in week out, so if the only 2 options were Celtic and Norwich I think he’s made the correct decision If it was up to me I would be selling Rogic to the highest bidder, phasing Brown out of the first team into a back up role and playing a midfield of Turnbull and Christie with McGregor sitting (assuming Ntcham is leaving). If that midfield 3 could get Champions League experience it could be the Scotland national teams midfield for years to come. I really rate Turnbull and also work with a couple of Motherwell fans who absolutely rave about him. If he can score that amount of goals from midfield for Motherwell then I would like to think he could do the same for Celtic where he will playing amongst a higher calibre of player (no disrespect to the Motherwell team). In my opinion he should be in the first 11 from the opening day of the season, and I will be very annoyed if he’s used in any other way. If that was to happen then the fans berating Celtic for wasting Scottish talent will be completely vindicated.6 points

I’ve not been around much of late, but this is a discussion that the subject of very much affects the club so here goes. It’s a crying shame that a supporter such as Wilf feels he has no option but to not renew his season tickets as a result of something happening in our stadium due to a medical condition. I wouldn’t dream of professing to be a medical person so I won’t and others shouldn’t, pass judgment on that. It’s sad though, that’s for sure. If there are others who are jumping aboard a similar boat due to annoyance and being pissed off about the drum/noise etc and don’t have medical reasons then that’s nothing short of pathetic. We want to bring in new supporters. We do and they make a bit of noise and they’re chastised. How do we win in this situation?! Football has changed over the last 50 years. It’s no longer a ‘sit and watch’ affair, atmosphere plays a huge part in it, particularly for younger fans, how often is it mentioned across the globe about the atmosphere within a stadium?! Our support is awash with elder statesmen (and women) and there’s nothing wrong with that whatsoever but it can’t be overlooked that often younger supporters are looked upon with distain and treated with contempt almost. I’m in no way suggesting a connection here but the latter is disappointing to say the least. The fact remains that we desperately need to blood in new supporters, now and for the foreseeable. However it seems a thankless task to try and do so given some of the attitudes evident on here and on match days. The phrase darned if you do, darned if you don’t, comes to mind. I’m glad it’s not my job to try and get new faces in the door.5 points

'Fair enough if Wilf is impacted'. Really ? A guy who has supported the club since 1970 and has invested Christ knows what of his own money, time and goodwill in DFC is to be waved goodbye in order that a bunch of here today/gone tomorrow kids can batter f**k out of a drum ? Really ? Here's a simple test; if these lads are serious about following Dumbarton then presumably they can do it without crossing a threshold that irritates and in some cases genuinely ruins the experience of fellow supporters. In other words the club needs to grow a pair and draw a code of what's acceptable and what is not. By the lights of some of the wise guys posting on this subject, and the intolerance and disrespect is frankly disgraceful, I'm one of these old buffers. But I was once young and madly enthusiastic about the Sons....singing, shouting, banners - the whole shebang. But I'll tell you what; if anyone had ever told me or my mates that our conduct was causing diehard fans to chuck it then I'd have been horrified. I should state that Wilf is a close personal friend of mine, and his decision has saddened me immensely. For people who purport to wish the best for DFC there are some gey strange attitudes on here at times.5 points

I'm 99% confident we don't have 6 supporters who have some sort of health issue that is aggrivated by a drum being hit. Fair enough if Wilf is impacted but I'd be astounded if another 5 supporters had the same/a similar thing. Our support is awash with old farts, unfortunately. The thought of weans having fun kills them inside.5 points

Not sure what sort of domestic situation I’ve started here, just wanted a league table out but if I’m not promoted stick it up your arse tbh. Going to be difficult to motivate the lads to go again next season but we’ve a terrific group in the dressing room and if anyone can I’d trust them to do it, Clive.5 points

Entirely this. On balance, I'd have preferred it if Doyle had stayed, but he really wasn't all that. A committed, industrious player, and a good natured bloke by all accounts. Not a particularly special footballer though. He'd be mad not to move to Falkirk to be honest, and good luck to him. He's really not irreplaceable though. This thread has gone somewhat mental in recent days.5 points

Scotland v Brazil, Hampden 66 Showed this pic of pele to my old man and he told me his ‘pele’ story, no idea if it’s true or not but John Clark and Davie Provan were in New York and got into a lift and Pele gets in at the next floor. Provan is nearly peeing himself in excitement, while clark is not even bothering. Pele eyes John Clark up and just before getting out the lift says to him ' hampden, 66’ you were a very good player' to which Clark nods and smiles. Provan is going nuts that Pele knew John Clark and Clark turns to him and says, who the f**k was that!??5 points

The old guard gatekeeping as per usual. Yes, these kids could disappear within a season or two, but they also could end up supporting the club for life. (Something Wilf isn't even willing to do, clearly). There are a number of reasons why the club isn't as hospitable as it should be and high up the list is this mentality that some fans are better than others. New people instantly get interrogated on the supporters bus. People moan when big crowds turn up (e.g 1000-odd we took to the cup final) because they weren't at smaller games. Fans of old firm clubs get snarked at when they're actually bothering to support their local team - even if it's only a few games a season it still helps the club.4 points

It’s no surprise which posters on here are acting as apologists for Johnson; a man with few principles, little integrity and very questionable morals. A man totally unfit to be PM. A man who blatantly lied during the Brexit campaign and who is still lying about how he will deliver Brexit.4 points
