  1. No this shite again. Punting Houston was completely the correct decision at the time. He had completely lost the dressing room and the players had very obviously stopped playing for him. Just because we’ve recruited appallingly since doesn’t change the fact that he deserved to go at that time.

  2. I have to say that the two recent interviews with Ali More and Bill Clarke have given me much more faith in the current running of the club than I have had for some time. I responded fairly positively to the player fund consultation and intend to support it when it comes online. I've also upped my Rovers lotto subscription on the back of these interviews to give that wee bit extra help. Season book might be a bit far given current family commitments but hopefully my wee boy wants to go more and more this season and the season book purchase for me and him can happen in the near future. I still intend to get along to half a dozen or so games over the season. He'll definitely get his Rovers kit though and I'm quite keen on this 25 year commemoration kit for the Coca Cola cup anniversary for myself (although I've still got the original and thanks to 90's baggy style fashion it still fits ) The signing of Regan Hendry is great news, as is the prediction that Vaughan may return in August. We'll see what the 4/5 signings are next week but so far so good this close season for me. I feel we have decent, competent folk running the club who are also fans. Bill Clarke's assessment of last seasons squad both collectively and individually was refreshingly honest and imo fairly accurate. The Hybrid model really should've came last season and hopefully it gives us a bit of depth and experience we lacked at times last season. With the ongoing turmoil at Falkirk and Forfar unlikely to be as strong next season there's no reason for us not to believe we can get out of this league this time of asking. f**k me, happy pills are strong...

  3. Reading that Ayr are sending out a bad message to players by not trying to cash in on them at the first opportunity and send them to non-league English football rather than allow the player to stay, further raise his profile and now head for League One/Championship in England. Love it when fans of other clubs come in here to tell us what their mewling shithouse club would have done and paint it as the right thing.

  4. Not been on here for a few days so just catching up. Got to laugh at the clowns who were desperate for us to get moved to the League 1 forum, yet are continuously posting on this thread. Complete loons the lot of them. Falkirk obsessed and now realising that they have no real rivalry in the Championship thread well done lads

  5. Thought it would come to this for a year, knew last week it was actually happening. The only decision they could take imo and although the option is there for a return, my personal opinion is I can’t see it. There’s little appetite down here at present amongst players to play EOS, which again is understandable. No one came forward for the managers job, so no real player recruitment. Feel for the small but hard working committee, but also for all the youth players, which there are many and are well run, who may never get to play for the town above amateur level now. It’s just a fucking shame

  6. Is there a high-level SJFA strategy to prevent people becoming radical pyramidistas? Anyway, here's a statement from Kinnoull

  10. Add me to the Bill Clark fan club, by the way. To give the fans 40 minutes worth of information in the close season and explain why each thing thus far has happened; both individually and in its entirety is top drawer transparency. Hard to really ask for more. I’ll sign up for the new fund when it comes into existence. I don’t get to as many home games as I’d like because of work but this will make me feel much less guilty about it, and I’m not realistically going to miss the £10 or £20 per month. All been pretty positive so far. Looking forward to seeing who the four signings are, and what happens beyond that. The only caveat I'd add to that is there was no need to give Buchanan the "legs have gone" chat as seen in that screenshot. He was already released, he was a cracking professional who gave his all for the club over two years and he scored 1 in 3 whilst playing in a side who rarely played to his strengths. I've certainly no ill will towards him, rather I wish him every success in his future playing career.

  11. Nah, as mentioned above, the only shite part is when the season starts and you realise that 17 new signings out of 17 cant play football

  12. Aye it is entirely up to me who to believe , and who I believe will be based on their past, and the past history of SJFA authorities like TJ and locheeboy(where is he btw, completely disappeared since the EoS EGM) is of complete lies to suit themselves. Meanwhile the EoS has been the best run organisation in Scotland. Greenhorn is fallible but he’s in charge of by far the best run organisation in Scottish football. Place your bets on who’s honest...

  19. Did the ERSJFA not have a notice on their website advertising for new members and talking about tier 6 entry in 2019-20 even after it had become clear it wasn't happening? If they were doing that how can anyone reasonably complain about the EoS doing much the same and accepting a late applicant? Beyond that I would have thought it should have become clear to all by now after the board directive patter from Tom Johnston turned out to be unenforceable that Ian Maxwell doesn't actually have much in the way of power where the pyramid is concerned and that change has to happen by consensus rather than diktat from above. That puts the league that is already on board in the east in the driving seat in terms of leverage during negotiations, because they hold an effective veto over what happens while the SJFA does not because they didn't engage with the pro/rel process to and from the Lowland League when it started.

  20. If the clubs were that fussy they could have put a motion to the AGM to change it, clearly no-one did.

  22. Certainly hasn't had a fantastic time at Raith and at 34 has a few more miles on the clock. In his defence, I don't think their style of play ever really suited him and I don't think it's been a great place to play for a good while now. They didn't get anywhere near as much out of Dario either for example. Buchs never relied on blistering pace with us but a great footballing brain and a cool head. Won't have lost either of those. Was also renowned as a good pro who looked after himself. So while he is getting on a bit, he should fit into the established nucleus of really good part-time players that we have. If he stays fit and the manager gets good younger legs (on loan probably) around him, then this could work out nicely. A bit like Alan Trouten last season. And memories of his last season are so good that I'd welcome him back even if he was 50. Let's hope there are more to come.

  23. Houston was given a large budget to get us promoted and signed dross such as Loy and Harris while also failing to sign players in Key positions. We then took a total of 2 points from 15. Those two points coming from Dumbarton at home and then Brechin away. In those 5 games, we scored 5 goals and conceded 12. Hindsight is wonderful however people saying sacking Houston caused all these issues are forgetting how shite we were then too.

We are in discussions with them and other people on a plan to help the club re-establish itself within the town and as a proper community club.
