  2. That was a fantastic game. Two sides kicking lumps out of each other, with the better team winning to set up a dream last day. Some brilliant scenes at the goals. Hope you enjoyed Buds. I sure did.

  3. The three clubs in the LL without lights are existing SFA members and have been for many years. They should be granted a period of derogation in order to meet the criteria, just as the 6 clubs in the EoS without lights should also have received a period of derogation to enable them to comply. It didn't happen and the SFA should rightly be criticised for that, they have got it badly wrong. On the flip side, the SFA admitted 6 new members so it's hardly a case of a closed shop. The SPFL is also about to relegate a long standing member to the Lowland League, so that's not a closed shop either. Club licencing is an ongoing process which is there to improve standards. Seats will undoubtedly be a requirement at some point down the line, and so they should be. None of this should be used as a tool by those who want to preserve Junior football in order to hold clubs back. The more I hear, the more I hope the SFA close the door on the SJFA being involved in any shape or form, and instead set-up a WoSFL for those clubs who want to progress.

  4. "We are Liverpool, this means more". It's probably sanctimonious rhetoric such as this that makes Liverpool so unpopular. They're just an English version of Celtic.

  5. Can never decide on the ethics of The Undateables, but I definitely don't think it's fair to lump them into the same category. The Undateables, for all its many faults, generally tries to paint mentally and physically disabled people in a good light and show that they have the same thoughts and feelings as everyone else. Jeremy Kyle is the TV equivalent of rubbernecking a car crash, trying to bring out the worst of people to entertain the gawking hordes.

  7. A lot of managers get sacked harshly, Jim Mcintyre isn't one of them. I think the sportsound guys (assuming that's where the quotes have come from) are being wilfully dishonest in their assessment there. If that was a foreign manager or someone they don't know then no way they'd be giving it that shite.

  8. Robson should be able to run riot as a wing back in Div1. His attitude would also be a big plus, no room for wage thiefs like Haber next year.

  10. Many congratulations to the Ben's on their promotion. Well done to the players and management. I seen them win against a good Arthurlie team at start of the season and thought they would do well. It has been a long journey back to the top league for Benburb. In 2003 their survival was in doubt and they tumbled down the league's. Good decision making by the committee then enabled them to survive. They deserve enormous credit for sticking with it and are now reaping some success. Many congratulations of course to Rutherglen Glencairn.

  14. The biggest bit of nonsense about that episode is some of the rubbish written in this thread. Think some of you must have slept through half the series as the episode fulfilled many of the series major acts very well. In season 1 we saw Arya hate ‘The Hound’ for the death of her friend on the way to Kings Landing. She then lost her Father and has spent the remaining seasons being driven by revenge, being trained to be a killing machine. He’s always been dehumanised by being referred to as The Hound, a monster that was created by his truly evil brother, that really wasn’t a monster. When he makes her leave and she then calls him Sandro, the only time in the whole show someone calls him by his real first name, it fulfils the surrogate Father/ daughter role they have had. Great pay off. We then get the fulfilment of the Clegane brothers. The Mountain is a true monster now. A nice little nod to his most eye watering (popping) scene. Followed by a death where it started for them, in fire. Again another great ending to that arc. As for Jamie and Cersei. He’s shown through the entire thing that he loves her and would do anything for her (through a child out a tower, Roger his hand chopped off just to get back to her, give up the one decent person who saw the good in him, etc..). As for Cersei she has only wanted to ever protect her children and saw power as the way to do this. For them to die with Jamie wrapping his arms around her in a protective fashion, though there is nothing he can do to stop the inevitable, with her comment on protecting their child is the relationship in a nutshell. Dany is the inbred daughter of the Mad King. Raised under the cruel hand of her brother. Used and abused. Has then done some frankly cruel things in the name of her own cause, though has been tempered at times into doing some good. Had a husband and unborn child die. Has seen 2 of her only true friends die in short order. Lost 2 of 3 of her dragon children. The only real thing she has left, bar a big dragon, is being the Queen. Unfortunately her lover turns out to be a family member with a better claim, more popularity and not a penchant for incest. Attacking a place she associates with almost everything that has went bad in her world. Not as much of a jump that she is has lost it. Varys also dies due to whispers at the hand of dragon, having been responsible for sending many people to a similar death (burning) with the Mad King. On top of that we get some good action. A good death for Euron. Arya seeing the horror inflicted and if I was betting man the person to kill Dany. Great episode.

  15. The whole town is hurting, history down the pan, it is so sad, I would cry if I wasn't so angry. I'm an old guy, but I never contemplated that I would see this scenario in my lifetime. 90 minutes to overturn 4 goals, not impossible, but totally improbable with the players we have available. I have put the blame, fairly and squarely at the door of the regime in other posts and been criticised for this by the ST, SC and board followers, but this is my club, the club I love and have followed for more years than I care to remember, I have seen regimes come and go, witnessed Bowes, seen the club rebuild, each time while retaining their league status, this is just the worst. without question I will be there on Saturday for the final knockings and there will be a wee tear in my eye when I walk back into town. End of an era, so very, very sad, hope they don't play the last post

  16. Thought the point there was that Clegane finally acted like the father she has needed emotionally since Ned died and she snapped out of the assassin mindset as a result and went back to being a wee lassie again. Thought Maisie Williams sold that quite well in acting terms.

  20. Folk saying Tommy Robson is shite are every bit as bad as those who hero worship him (me) He would be by far and away the best wing back available to us in league 1. As a left full back. I am inclined to agree he is average or poor, though still gives plenty offensively his defensive frailties are too exposed. If we plan to stick 4 at the back then he can go. If we plan for a back 3 then we wont get better to replace him.

  25. It's still taking advantage of said slum dwelling idiots, reeling them into something horrible with the offer of a night of free booze. It's clearly an immoral program but the sad thing is with any gutter tv is that there is clearly a healthy market of people who want to watch this rubbish.

  29. The young team sometimes get a bit of stick, but by and large they've been there for every home game since the Pars creating a racket. It's positive to see this sort of stuff coming up. I'm all for anything that gets younger fans more engaged rather than sitting watching games on the telly. Nothing like going to live games following dross clubs for that occasional afternoon where everything goes perfectly.

  31. To Max, the coaches and of course all the players, a big THANK YOU for delivering on the day. All that effort at Nitten & Tranent wasn't wasted and to have got to end of both the semi and the Final after suffering dubious red cards says a lot about the character of this team. So chuffed that Dougie got to lift a trophy in his testimonial year and the fact it was a local lad who scored the winning goal makes it all the sweeter!

  33. Even as a United fan I've sympathy for the Dees who were raging about the prospect of Dodds joining McIntyre. There are somethings you can't just suck up and bear with, no matter how screwed you are on the pitch. Rehiring a guy who previously voted to liquidate the whole club definitely falls under that bracket. Anyway, how thick must McIntyre be if his coaching methods and tactics are so woeful without the insight and input of Billy Dodds?

  34. Absolute fucking nonsense. I'm a happier man getting relegated without Billy Dodds being employed by a club he elected to try and liquidate than I would be having been saved by the now assumed miracle man.

  36. Yes, exactly. My problem isn't with the consumption of the ale, just the banging on about it afterwards. To be fair though, lengthy discussion of any topic in which you don't have an interest is going to be annoying. If you must do it, don't do it in public. I once stayed in a hotel which happened to be hosting a chess tournament, and all the players would gather in the reception area and talk about epic games they'd won in the past. I hate chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.

  39. I file the Jeremy Kyle show in the same bracket as 'Undateables'. Exploitation of individuals, clearly most of them with a varying number of physical or mental health issues. Complete gutter TV aimed at utter zoomers who get all their news from Facebook. Brilliant news that it's been taken off the air. The collective IQ of the nation should rise as a result.
