Hopefully not revealing any sensitive information here - I think it has been covered in podcasts and interviews over the last couple of months. There are 12 regular guests on the podcast right now, split across Glasgow and Edinburgh. The TV show is a distinct entity from the podcast, though it is inspired by the podcast. When the pilot was made, Craig Fowler picked the four people who he thought would do the best job on the couch, and I think pretty much all of us would have agreed with the line-up. The very best podcasts the Terrace does are the lower league ones with Craig Telfer, Craig Fowler and Shaughan, and Joel is the most knowledgeable about the Premiership as well as bringing a certain comic quality. The BBC really liked the pilot and therefore wanted to stick with that same line-up every week. Almost everyone else has been involved in the VT side of things at some point or the other. I'm sure we'd all have loved to have been sitting on that couch, but it would have been difficult for me and several others to balance it up with work commitments anyway. At the end of the day, you can't argue with the quality of the programme which has been produced, so I think the decision on the line-up has been totally vindicated, and I think everyone involved in the Terrace is delighted with how the show has been going.20 points

We are far too slow, ponderous and one-dimensional playing two defensive mids in the same team. We need to stop playing Taiwo and Kerr together.9 points

Queueing for paper ones... you're lucky to get a raffle ticket as you go into games, with takings collected in tupperware tubs - suggest a bit of market research here... !9 points

As has been said before, hindsight is a great thing, but, if McIntyre had a brain cell, he would have played five at the back from day 1, and shit-fested every single game (same as against the celtic) he brought in players with pace that could hit teams on the counter attack, but no, let's play formation tombola every fucking week. Now, or the end of the season, this clown needs binned. Thank you.7 points

This is the start of serious book getting thrown at football offences. The lesson here of course is to invade the pitch with the safety of numbers. Proper planning prevents poor pitchy performance.7 points

Hard words but true I'm afraid. In the old days the moaners would moan into their beer with no harm done. Nowadays it's online, and the kids live online so all the players get to read all of this. It's not good for morale & it's not helping JH at all. So let's get behind him & the team. Have to respond to that. Again. I dragged my arse out of bed in Redcar at 7am to get to that talk in 10 days ago. I did so because Berwick Rangers means such a lot to me. I liked John Bell's upbeat and realistic presentation (and I wouldn't question the current Board's commitment - so much better than at the start of the season) I also liked Harvey's enthusiasm (and his little put down of Jamie Curle!) but was disappointed that he didn't show any humility regarding his record. 2 telling things that haven't been mentioned were the question from Brian Porteous about recruiting experience which Johnny essentily deflected, and the lack of input from Johnny's coaches. I probably should have asked them something directly, but anyone in their position with a strong personality might, perhaps, have contributed. Since then we have lost 2 games, both with woeful displays. This Saturday, many of the 'Come on Berwicks' will be from me. I will support the team wholeheartedly until the final whistle. But don't tell me I can't say what I feel on here afterwards - good or bad. It is a fans forum - the online equivalent of the back room of a pub. And the poor lads who play might get a bit deflated if they read some criticism? Well boo-fecking-hoo. If I was a player in a team that got dicked every week and then read that the people who pay to watch weren't too chuffed, I wouldn't get upset. I'd try harder.6 points

I think pretty much everyone knows that nobody who has been involved in Berwick Rangers has looked at it in terms of financial gain, but I also think it’s pretty fair to say that far too much energy has been expended on internal battles. You could go back nearly 20 years to the days of Curle and see evidence of it. Ironically, just when the trapdoor looks like opening, this season has probably seen the most united boardroom over that time. I’m sorry to keep harping back to what George Mathison said at a talk with the Supporters groups, but he kept hitting the nail on the head. When he talked about a vision for the future of Berwick Rangers, he asked what do the fans want the club to be using two extremes. He used the example of Arbroath at one end, where all expenditure is directed towards what you see on the park on a Saturday afternoon. Little in the community, no youths etc etc. Then on the other hand Spartans, where their community work is the most important thing they do with the performance of the first team being secondary. In my opinion, on and off and with different people at different times, directors and those involved with the club have been pulling apart seeking to achieve these ambitions (to a certain extent) but without taking everyone with them. I don’t think it’s financial gain, or even personal glory thats been at the forefront, but certainly competing visions and/or trying to defend against other people who want to take the club in the other direction. It’s all led to a lack of focus. A lack of agreed vision for the club and the club drifting with complacency because of it. The managerial appointments Cameron apart are perfect evidence of it. That’s why I was disappointed in the forum as little of what was said pre-Xmas was evident. The big questions about direction and vision still need answered and the forum was the perfect opportunity (though maybe wrong timing in the season) to ask, not tell. Tbh, I slaver enough and people can disagree, but it’s so frustrating year on year saying the same things.5 points

Won't hear a bad word said about Tony Watt off the pitch. What a load of bollocks we were told about him before he signed. Probably been guilty myself of overlooking how good he was up until the break too. I think the lack of goals has clouded my judgement as looking back, I was usually saying good things about him after games. He missed good chances though and I'm not sure that would ever change. He presumably joined Saints on a contract that would see him earn as little as he has done as a professional and he's entitled to seek out a deal more akin to what he's accustomed to. Good luck to him.5 points

I have absolutely no doubt Mick will be a success at darvel but if I was the money man or committee behind darvel I’d be getting them to silence some of the muppets on here. Ever heard about going about your business quietly? You’ll get a bit more respect and won’t have such a big target on your back (ie shouting from the rooftops about what your doing will naturally get teams more up for games against you and undoubtedly make your job harder)5 points

You mean to say a supporter who's had his profile on here since 2010, supporting Berwick Rangers all that time, has secretly been Johnny Harvey all along? You should consider taking up boxing with that far of a reach.4 points

Decided to check Bonnyrigg's planning application, and I was in luck as they have submitted new lighting designs which seem to show that light overspill towards the houses is now within acceptable levels. Hopefully it satisfies the cooncil and the club can get them sorted over the summer. https://planning-applications.midlothian.gov.uk/OnlinePlanning/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=PL5WIKKVGOL004 points

Listening to Off the Ball is part of my Saturday routine. I listen faithfully before leaving the house and whilst driving to games (including Home games in my case). Tam and Stuart have their faults (especially Tam constantly talking over everyone and living in the 1950's) but generally it is a good show. For the first time ever I had to switch it off on Saturday due the bumbling, boring, repetitive, inane laughing Chick Young. The guy cannot string one sentence together never mind a paragraph. He shoots off at more tangents than a mathematician and lives in the past. We have all heard the same stories every time he is on air. No intelligent insight and cheap innuendo that he was a player in his day. Get this guy out to pasture. Glad I do not pay a license fee to pay for his wages.4 points

I think May looks done tbh. I'd hate for him to come back and be a failure. Let's just keep the memories.4 points

On the basis that they mouth off a lot in the Press & Journal? They were just the same last year and couldn't take it when Cowden stood up to them and weren't intimidated. Came across as a right bunch of bawbags who couldn't face up to their failure on the day that mattered.4 points

Sure we will find out in the playoffs. Ayr have hit a brick wall quite clearly and their small squad which granted has 2 or 3 good players has had its best period. Inverness may be tough but over two legs I see us beating them too.4 points

It’s a playoff final against Annan that’s keeping me up at night. Haven’t lost to them in ages but their style of play - and the officials’ inability to keep on top of it - gives me the fear. Hopefully we’ll have nicoll back to put that Neanderthal Wallace back in his box4 points

The last 18 months since sacking Houston have been a nightmare... 1. The return of Rory Loy 2. Removing the youth academy 3. Naming Muirhead as Captain 4. Not owning our own club logo 5. Fans being called racists 6. A player mocking a disability 7. This so called Brentford model 8. Turning on Lee Miller and Mark Kerr 9. Paul Hartley 10. Mitch “The Scout” 11. Tapping up Ray & lying about it 12. The “Our Time” slogan 13. Getting beat by Stenhousemuir We are due a Netflix documentary soon cause we are so Sunderland.4 points

IF we do manage to stay up I really hope it isn't celebrated too much. We need to remember this isn't the Championship and that this season has been an absolute failure from start to finish. By all means we should be delighted to avoid a crippling relegation should it happen but it's not any sort of achievement to be shouting about IMO. The sooner we can get to May and bin off half our squad the better.4 points

Probably best not to discourage the Orange walks as it becomes abundantly clear if you see 1 that it's the only exercise they get.3 points

To begin with, yeah. We need to establish ourselves as a championship club - which we haven't done for over fifteen years! Once we're established then you push on to the next level. Top four could very well be an unrealistic target next season, depending obviously on who leaves and who comes in. Our budget is still very low in this league. People seem to forget that, and a poor home crowd at the weekend reminds us just how fragile our recent success has been.3 points

I never said it was. I said the fans groups were as bad as FPS in that they want to be a closed shop and were full of their own self importance.3 points

Emphatic 8 which is the equivalent to an old 4 or something. Joan of Arc and author wrong. Sharing a cup sounds dreadful, get it sorted Adam. Playoff style question, closest gets the glory. Or could have 5 playoff questions, say for example all related to distance or age, for everyone unit they’re out by they get a mark, least marks overall wins. A winner must be declared!3 points

This is miles too harsh. We massively overachieved in the first 15-20 games. Then we got worked out and it's been a struggle. Last summer you'd surely have said avoiding relegation would be a good season? For me that makes a playoff spot fantastic (even if it has come after a shitey few months). Promotion was unthinkable in the summer. That's way beyond a 'fantastic' season; and actually would probably go down as the greatest in the club's history.3 points

In what way in particular? Basically curious if you're about to out your missus as a massive bigoted roaster3 points

The fatal flaw in using Young plus anyone as stand ins is that, whilst appreciating the subjectivity, Cosgrove and Cowan are/have been mainly likeable at times of their careers, an essential factor for the host in the format working. However Young is an obnoxious little shit despised by most so the programme's on to a loser from the start.3 points
-
I know that loads of people on here don’t particularly like Cowan and Cosgrove on the show, but I have never, ever considered switching it off. Coming back from the match at Dens I had to, just had to, switch Off The Ball off after a couple of minutes. Utterly dreadful. Who thought it was a good idea to put Chick Young on the show, and even worse give him a female co-host to try his macho stuff on. Absolute nightmare today.3 points
