  1. I think its largely because anyone with even a primary school level of comprehension of economics would suggest that post brexit the damage to Scotland’s economy would not be undone by ‘taking a couple of billion’. Thankfully we have actual adults in Scotland looking out for us.

  2. For goodness sake man, are you deliberately being obtuse or are you entirely unable to follow the logic on this? The SFA proposal (and I think most can see that it's a proposal whose seeds were sown entirely by the SJFA) asks the Lowland League and the EoSFL to accept BOTH the WRSJFA and the ERSJFA as feeder leagues to the Lowland League. For the glaringly obvious reasons that have been set out time and time and time and time again for you, this will simply not fly. Not now, not ever. However, should the west clubs/SFA/SJFA come back with a proposal that looks to bring the west in at Tier 6 and below with discussions on an orderly merger of EoSFL and ERSJFA teams to be had? Well then now you're talking. The disciplinary issues - and they are issues as the idea of fining players in one feeder league and not in another is foolish beyond belief - are real for the east clubs, but it would not be beyond the wit of man to find a sensible compromise on this. Why can't you see this and why can't you see that ignoring these realities and choosing instead to bad mouth the leagues you wish to share a pyramid with can only be counterproductive?

  4. Lowering your self to insults shows you up more than me. I’m only giving my opinion. I don’t want my club to stay where we are, I want them to progress as far as they can go but what I see is an organisation and other clubs stopping them. That’s my opinion. If you don’t like my opinion then block me but don’t come on here with personal insults.

  5. The same EoS Mafia that would of let Clydebank in to it. The same EoS Mafia that would of helped set up an indepedent WoSFL at the same level at Tier 6 The same EoS Mafia that will accept the West Region clubs intact into the pyramid. The same EoS Mafia that wants the West & East Regions represented at PWG meetings. The same EoS Mafia that wants West & East Region representation on the Non-Professional Game Board. Can't really gatecrash something when you're invited to the party

  6. My feeling is that the issue of discipline is minor, and that if that was the only issue then the EoS would get on with it, even if they disagreed with the implementation. It is fairly clear to everyone that the main sticking point for them is the involvement of the East Juniors as a separate league at the same level in the same area.

  9. I've just remembered why I stopped visiting this site. The same Clyde fans (some now with different aliases) spouting the same crap, a lot of it needing an Enigma machine to decipher, doing their best to wind up other Clyde fans. Even when we've got a decent team, on a winning run, they still feel the need to stir things up. I was there on Saturday, and I've no idea what "quite a cancer among the support on Saturday" refers to either .

  11. I'm sure I've read somewhere in one of these threads that Kilbowie Benches represents Clydebank in an official capacity. If so, his tone and choice of words when discussing the EoSFL and its representatives should be pretty disturbing for fans of his club when you consider that the EoSFL and EoSFA boards have been nothing but accommodating to Clydebank when they were holding joint discussions on the Bankies moving to the EoSFL. To have someone involved in the running of the club constantly and wilfully misunderstand or, indeed, deliberately misrepresent the EoSFL's position on all of this is pretty poor stuff. It's been clearly and concisely set out in this and other threads by several posters that the EoSFL would welcome a west feeder league into the Lowland League and that they, and the Lowland League, only oppose the nonsensical idea of a geographically overlapping feeder league in the east - what is difficult to understand about this is, well, difficult to understand.

  12. This thread is like a 'greatest hits of PnB'. I can never remember if we don't celebrate cup wins enough because we can't understand what it's like to be a diddy or if we celebrate cup wins too much because Celtic defines our self-esteem.

  13. Season Ticket prices revealed. Same as last year, free STs for kids under 12 (fantastic idea imo) and the opportunity to pay in installments - which was something quite a few folk spoke about last summer. Good stuff from the club again acting based on feedback from the fans. Hopefully we see a wee boost in numbers as a result...Although performances from those on the pitch between now and May might decide that... https://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/news/?mode=view&id=4001

  15. Dreadful tactics again for me. I like Ray but he’s killing us just now with those team selections. If we beat Alloa and Morton he can play whoever the fcuk he likes in the other games and go for draws but at home against these two he needs to be brave IMO.

  17. I honestly don't know what's so difficult to understand about this or why you are finding it so difficult to use an analogy to establish a basic principle. Winning against an equally matched or superior competitor is a greater achievement than winning against a far weaker competitor. The greater the achievement, the more celebration is called for. Everyone except you and your sisters in blue seem to grasp this. I suspect it's due to the massive inferiority complexes that led you to support these two vile teams in the first place.

  18. The point is that celebrating like a mad thing when you have a massive unassailable advantage over every other competitor is the sign of a no-mark. You lot celebrate like you're the downtrodden underdogs for some reason.

  20. Call me a fantasist, or call me bitter and twisted. Maybe a bit of both, but imagine a scenario where we relegate Barry Smith's Brechin in our last home game and then relegate McKinnon's Falkirk side in the play off final [emoji7]

  21. Anyone see Andy Stirling’s post match interview after the Falkirk epic? Doyle was clowning about with a brush in the background and intervened with some bad jokes. Doyle seems quite a ‘character’ and must be a great guy to have in the dressing room. He may not always be the most sophisticated player but he really does give 100%. And you can hear him always shouting and encouraging his team-mates. I’d have him POY if it wasn’t for one S Dobbie.....

Prices held from last summer, instalment option for fans who can't afford the one off payment, Under 12's in for free and if we get relegated they'll give you a £25 hospitality voucher as compensation (which they really don't have to do). Not only that, but they've put some expected FAQs at the bottom to try and explain the decision making behind it. Excellent stuff.

  25. Absolute nonsense. Pre-season aims exceeded = a successful season. It will be a bit disappointing but the League is a marathon not a sprint, being a contender means absolutely nothing. Clubs with bigger budgets generally, on average, will outperform those with thinner weaker squads. If we do indeed have the second smallest budget in the Division the Ayr finishing top half is outperforming. They key will be if we can stay competitive in this League for a few years now in a row - that is more important to this Club's long term future than the outside chance of double promotion. That's not saying we shouldn't aspire to compete at the top of the Championship and go up, but we need to build firm foundations over being a flash in the pan.

  27. DT's goal tonight was our 50th in the league this season. First time since 2013/14 and peak Muzz-ball that we've scored more than 50, that season we got 65. In the interluding years we've managed 27, 46, 35 and 36. With 52 now only Arbroath (58) and Raith (65) have scored more. Ross Forbes' goal tonight was also the 50th of his career. Given the nightmare he had on Saturday it was great to see him looking fired up again today, played apart in two goals and scored one. The ideal response to selling one at the weekend. Calum Gallagher's was his tenth of the season. I know he isn't the most graceful player around, and I know he takes a lot of stick, but ten goals in 26 starts (quite a few of which have been wide) is a decent return by anyone's tally. In fact his goal return since being moved up front in January last year is pretty decent. DT's strike also means that, even if he plays in every game between now and the final day and doesn't score, he'll still finish the season with a one in two goal record. 13 (and ten assists) in 21 games so far. 13 goals is the best league return for a Dumbarton player since Bryan Prunty's 14 in 2011/12. Imagine we had a goalkeeper and some defenders

  28. Yes. FoM WAS a major issue in the poll - to our chagrin. You have really dropped a bollock when you said: It is a disastrous policy that means we can never have full employment. No. We have low unemployment rates and, pretty much anyone who wants a job can get a job. This may change if we have a no-deal Brexit. The only people who give a shit about FoM are those who don't like 'the wrong type of person' living in their community and they are, almost exclusively, small-minded c***s.

  29. As I said on the other thread, the EoS have both compromised and proposed alternative solutions. The SJFA are the ones digging their heels in and stopping their members from being able to progress into the pyramid. EoS have in the last year: - Accepted 26 Junior teams into their structure, relegating most of their existing membership in the process - Said they support the West Region moving over at Teir 6 and would be happy to help set it up - Said they support the North Region moving over at Teir 6 - Said they support the makeup of a Tayside league at Teir 6 for teams who cannot play LL football - Said they will accept remaining South of Tay Junior teams into their structure, further impacting their membership. - Set up and chaired a meeting of the two associations to discuss, which we are told the SJFA had little interest in. They have said they will not accept a competing league in the same geographical area in the East, with teams in separate structures single digit miles apart, as there is no need for it and makes no sense. And they have questioned the separate discipline rules (though I suspect you solve the duplicate league's in East issue and the discipline one isn't a showstopper). They have, as best I can tell, compromised and accepted more than 80% of what has been asked if them. They are asking, quite reasonably as we all know it's a stupid idea, that the SJFA compromise on less than 20% of the proposal, namely not to have a competing geographical league at the same level with teams in it ineligible for promotion to the level above. The SJFA, conversely, have seen the EoS (and LL/SoS) agree to 80% or more of what they want, but they want it all. They won't do the sensible thing and say "you know what, the issue in the East is fair, let's put that on hold till we can talk it through further and get a solution for the season after next, without holding up the West, Tayside (ERJFA structure already changed to support it) and North if they want" As far as I can see, the league's in the pyramid are open to change, have proven it consistently and have accepted a great deal of what is proposed without issue. Progress is entirely in the gift of the SJFA, all they need to do is accept the east is a legitimate issue, put it on hold for further discussion, and the West and Tayside could be on board for next season. Why anyone thinks the EoS is "blocking" this, or that an objection on the grounds that having 2 feeders in the same region (one of which with near half the teams who can't be promoted) isn't legitimate, I can't fathom. The SJFA could resolve this tomorrow, by showing the same level of acceptance and compromise as the league's being blamed for holding this up. They only have to concede one issue to further discussion.

  37. The poster who said Hastie is the new Ross Forbes looks to have nailed it. Remember folk on SO were saying Forbes would play for Scotland one day? Lolz! Hastie should be going to wherever the money is. If he can get himself a deal in the MLS that's worth over $200k a year, he owes his agent a gammy. He's had a purple patch in his first 10 games of his Premiership career and looks to get a lucrative move on the back of it. All the best to him.

  38. At this point it's really just a massive shrug whether he stays or goes. He clearly a talented boy but he's definitely struggling now teams are putting 2 or 3 men on him. Seems to be the difference between him and Turnbull there in that you couldn't get a touch of a beach ball in a phone box with David Turnbull. If it's anything like $235k a year on offer I would honestly not be surprised if he goes. That's MENTAL money for a boy who's played a handful of games.

  39. I believe that they have already stated such at the PWG - but why can't the SJFA come out and say that they are willing to negotiate full access to the Pyramid for the west region and will facilitate negotiations between the ERSJFA and the EoSFL to allow them to come to a merger arrangement suitable for all? This is what you and your club and all of the west clubs should be insisting of the SJFA. It is, after all, the SJFA who wish to join the Pyramid at this late date and who should, therefore, be willing to understand the parameters by which they can do so.

  40. I'd agree, a better performance upfront without a doubt but woefully complicit for their goal. I thought at the time it was Crane who'd allowed their player to rampage down our left and cross for the goal but the highlights show it was BJ. He had ample opportunities and a good few failed attempts to stop his man by fair means or foul and couldn't manage it. Barjonas is decent on the ball (sometimes) but fairly weak when not in possession, he's certainly no Regan Hendry. What a very different season this might have been but for two knee ligament injuries! Edited to add regarding the reserves last night, We thought we were in for a torrid time last night against Stirling Albion, especially when they went 1-0 up in less than a minute and nearly added a 2nd a couple of mins later. Once the kids got into their stride though they looked unstoppable and only poor finishing kept it to 9! In fact 7-3 at half time wouldn't have surprised anyone watching. Jack Smith looked dangerous every time he got the ball, he's quick has a decent touch and the only reason he had a quieter 2nd half was they put 2 men on him every time he was in possession. Likewise Kieran Bowie who at 17 has massive potential a well taken hat trick and his 2nd was a real joy holding off a bigger centre half before blasting past the keeper. Stevenson took both his goals well as did Tait who slotted into the bottom corner from outside the box. The two trialists looked decent and it was no 14 who got on the scoresheet too, he replaced Smith who looked to be in a wee bit discomfort from a back problem. Looks like Smith and McGlynn are rebuilding a decent team virtually from scratch after it being decimated by Smith and Cuthbert.

  46. Heres another one for you… Again my old department. Essentially the team I looked after were support/admin for a large salesteam. The sales guys are out on patch trying to win orders and hit their targets. As the salesguys have pretty heavy targets they also get some pretty sweet rewards, commission, company paid holidays etc The team I managed were based in an office dealing with After Sales customer enquiries but on a salary only. This as you can imagine riles up the office team who feel they also do a good job and deserve an extra reward. At every appraisal I did with them they would moan about not getting ‘perks’. I’d remind them that they did not have targets or the risk of working in sales where guys are given the sack regularly for not hitting targets. Also if people want to do that type of work they should apply instead of working in admin. However a couple of girls in the office were going great guns all the time about not getting any rewards so eventually I took the request to one of my managers meetings with our Directors and suggested it might help morale to give them something and after a particularly good year a few years ago there was some money in the budget to be used as a reward. I think due to taxes and maybe terms of employment the team weren’t allowed to be just given money in their wages as reward. However, and this is where it got interesting. The Director responsible for my department sent an email out saying “in light of a great year, please keep this date free for a day trip”. However the day of this trip was to be a Saturday as we couldn’t do it in work time. No one was told what the trip was, just to keep the day free and to let him know if they could attend. Now I’m not one for any works events during my own time. However, we were given plenty of notice and it was intriguing so I was up for it. I was sure booze would be involved with it being a Saturday so decided I’d give it a go. The other two girls who had done the lions share of the moaning quickly dismissed it and said they weren’t giving up their weekend(they didn’t have kids either) to do something work related. Leading upto the event there was rumours of what it would be and these two cows kept laughing at everyone else and making snide comments about doing something crap like going bowling or paintballing. At any opportunity they would say things to the rest of the team like “can’t believe you are going to spend free time at work”. When they were corrected that it wasn’t actually “work” they would respond with “well it might as well be”. The day before it at work we were told to meet at the Train Station early the following morning so it immediately took a more interesting turn. You could also see the two that had decided not to go were already regretting their decision and started asking lots of questions as if we knew what it was. “remember text us as soon as you know”… So the few of us who decided to go met at the station the next day. Turns out we got first class train tickets to London. Met the Director who got us p*ssed in a few pubs. He then took us for lunch up the Shard(oh yes Kenneth!) for a slap up meal in a private room. Everyone was then given £250 gift vouchers. Few pubs after it and then back on the train and home for 6pm(I should say I live in Leicester). Turned out to be a great day out. Monday morning back at work, everyone who had gone was buzzing and the two who hadn’t gone were visibly livid. The only let down was they were give then £250 vouchers as well which I think they had been raging about since the Saturday as they had been texted to say we’d all got them.
