  1. Mind when we had the chance to be free from this utter shitshow and completely shat ourselves?

  2. Gerrard's "We're a class above Aberdeen" remark at the start of the season, followed by three defeats in Glasgow to them, including being fucked out of both cups. Absolute peak banter years stuff there

  3. There’s a meeting next week between the eosl and ersjfa management committees I believe. Requested by the eosl. A think this is a positive step and congratulate the eosl for getting everyone round the table at a level below the PWG. Be great if both organisations can work together and resolve the current complete mess and come up with a consolidated pyramid structure under one organisation.

  5. That’s a very closed view prior to any discussion glad you won’t be at the table lol. For me we will only get anywhere if we forget about eosl and ersjfa and look at what’s the best scenario for non league football in the east of Scotland. An all encompassing pyramid including tayside teams should be the goal. How we run it and how we get there should be the discussion.

  6. I am a committed pyramid supporter and I have said before that I would like to see ALL clubs in the pyramid with a clear path of progression. But this obsession with not having to travel further than the end of the road really annoys me. Even with Glenrothes in the EOS St Andrews will have a minimum 20 mile journey for every game next season but we don't make a song and dance about it. Clubs should be looking to progress on and off the pitch as we are trying to do and creating a couple of wee local leagues isn't progression. But clubs shouldn't be moving to the EOS just to avoid travelling a few miles. JC1, any answers to the questions re 2nd new team, pyramid and Breadalbane?

  8. That season was abject misery. Football that was eye-bleedingly bad to watch. But we closed it off by spending 180 minutes ragdolling Rangers and tbh I wouldn't change it for the world.

  11. Are you seriously suggesting the exodus has been sparked by a few posters on an internet forum? If any club committee base major decisions on the future of their clubs on some posts on P&B, serious questions need to be asked...

  12. Teams will play each other 3 times. This should be the end of any pyramid discussions re the East Juniors. Good luck to every club who takes the decision to play in this set up but it's clear that the motives are not consistent with teams looking to push on or develop. Leave them to it.

  13. Will it? I'm a Whitburn man and I won't be back to Central Park until they are in the pyramid. This is a backward step and a half, what a farce!!

  14. As said, if the club thinks that's right, that's what you'll need to do. But I think you will regret this as I just can't see this league having any appeal. This all due to some misplaced loyalty to a "grade"...

  15. The sfa board will be frustrated that the PWG have still not reached agreement on the way forward. A joint approach from eosl and ersjfa to move boundary lines would be accepted if it then allowed progression and agreement of unified structure. A don’t understand why you continually want to alienate the tayside teams. There top sides were good Valuable members of the old super league for a lot of years. Regional at the top tier or two below the lowland league and local as you moved down the tiers at some point all under one organisation should be the goal. What a top product for marketing we would have then.

  16. Very much this. The recent playoff push chat is giving me the fear a bit, we're far from safe. You only have to look at the league table and the form of others in the relegation mix to see it's far from a done deal that we'll stay up. On recent form we should be fine but there's no gurantee we can keep that form up. The good form also just happened to coincide with the return of Dom Thomas, we really need to keep him fit...

  17. The state of that South ‘super’ league ! Thank the good lord we did not stay junior.

  18. That was indeed Aitken. Seven defenders/defensive mids (Scott Taggart on the wing, I mean Jesus Christ, why?), a goalkeeper and Kirkpatrick as a false nine. We would've overtaken Alex Rae's St Mirren with a victory...Lost 1-0, and Aitken called them a Premiership quality side. It still haunts me.

"So it turns out that government whip Mike Freer will be allowed to remain a government whip despite breaking the three line whip he just imposed on himself.... in order to vote against a motion, which was brought forward by his own prime minister, which she says she agrees with, but told her party to oppose." Alexa, describe Brexit to me.

  24. The structure in the long term, yes. For next season, no, would be hugely counterproductive and I think more than a few clubs would be furious at a last minute shifting of the goalposts. Needs to be conferences at Teir 7 next year to get the league's below sorted fairly for 20/21. As has been said on many occasions, Relegating clubs 2 teirs who are only expecting to drop 1 isn't on. We can't shift the goalposts with next to no games to play. Needs to be fair for all, like it had this season. Including the incoming juniors. EoS Premier as planned, conferences at Teir 7 for 1 session to let everyone win their place in the structure for the season after. Has worked well this year.

  27. Personally I would allow the Eastsuper winners a pass to club 16, instead of your best 6th place team as a gesture of goodwill. IMO a true amalgamation needs to give the ErSJFA something tangible. The rest I have always agreed with.

  28. Evidently not a hinderence seeing as you get better results playing on your bowling alley than the bigger pitches in the rest of the league. It's almost like Alloa are the worst team in the league, shocking.

  30. I find it difficult to call into question Scott McDonald's contributions in a Motherwell shirt. From his emergence under Terry Butcher, his contributions to dragging us out of trouble under Maurice Malpas, the scenes of Skippy Sunday and then scoring again when Celtic visited on the opening day of the following season. He was a massive player for us in his first spell. On rejoining us he played a crucial role in surviving the play-off's and then was often quoted as a huge influence on Louis Moult's success at the club. There were rumours he threw the toys out of the pram when he was denied a move back to Sydney ahead of Mark McGhee's meltdown at Ibrox, he later said McDonald was injured as he'd been 'carrying the rest of the team', but even then he still knuckled down and helped the team somehow finish 9th. Sure he was offside about 90% of the time, kicked up about missing his 'dream move' to Rangers before joining Celtic, had an unfortunate knack of scoring against us with them and kept us waiting for the duration of pre-season on multiple occasions, meaning it took him a few extra months to actually be match fit, but there were a lot more positives than there were negatives.

  31. Well BM like it or not you're the man most associated with driving the pyramid forward on P&B in the eyes of a lot of people. And yes you have a readership. 2 West club officials think you're great and another 2 think you're a boring cnut

  34. Just worth a mention, if we do manage to bring someone in short term and secure our safety, Gary jardine should be high up on the list of managers to bring in long term. The job he did at Edinburgh city and what he is currently doing at civil service is excellent.

  35. Probably based on the financial figures he stated. And the fact probably 100% of our players are based around the central belt, when your drop into the lowland league you are then competing with a big pool of clubs already based in that area for these players. It has been stated on here we already struggle to attract players, what hope would we have in the lowland league with less money. The pull just now and the swingin factor between a player choosing us over one of these teams at the moment is our league status.

  36. Even just saying it's contributed is quite a bold statement. Clubs who moved have their own reasons. They won't be the same for every club, but I'm pretty sure none of them will have (partly) based the decision on what's been said on P&B. And it's easy to just lump us all together. I don't agree with @Burnie_man (and others) on everything. We agree on a pyramid, our wish to have all current junior clubs included & that it's undesirable to have 2 leagues covering largely the same area. But we disagreed plenty of times on various details. That's a part of a healthy discussion... I'm not anti junior, I still enjoy watching junior football. I'll probably go to another juniors game on Saturday and I'll likely be at Beechwood to watch Talbot v Lochee in a few weeks. I do have my questions about how the game is run & I am critical of this new set-up in the East. At the same time I've also criticised the SFA on their handling of the pyramid. I have a strong opinion about this because I enjoy watching football at this level and have a lot of respect for plenty of clubs. That's why I want a decent set up for all to play in and I think a decently structured pyramid incorporating all current "grades" is the answer.

  37. Exactly, and I think this is similar to a point made a few posts earlier - who outwith West Lothian will ultimately care about the winners of an isolated, all but cut-off local league that is likely to see interest even from West Lothian locals dwindle further when it transpires they're going to watch the same few teams face each other week after week after week? It really is beginning to take the shape of a glorified amateur league. What a disappointment. Surely there will be at least a few teams that will want to escape this madness and head to the EoS, thus making what is being proposed all the more unpalatable?

  38. Isn't local interest in derbies enhanced by not playing the same teams all the time? The excitement of playing local teams isn't the same if they are the only teams you play. Just my opinion of course.

  40. It doesn't really matter which brand of Tory wins a GE, we're still in the same situation effectively. IMO the only thing approaching putting this shite to bed would be a 2nd referendum, and even then you'd need either wide to win very convincingly. The absolute #scenes though if Remain won 50.5 to 49.5 thanks to an overwhelming Remain vote in Scotland. Fantasy stuff of course but it would be fucking glorious.

  43. Thanks again for the comments and the feedback. It's always interesting to read what we can do better going forward. I'd probably agree with the comments about the Alternative Timelines section about Albion Rovers and the Scottish Cup - it was brilliant fun to record and seemed to flow very well but it missed the mark on the show itself and came across as self-indulgent. Nevertheless, there's some great stuff coming up in episode three and I hope to see you all there!
