Brexit healthcare worries for Brits in Spain https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47214093 "When I voted to leave I didn't think it would change anything for my rights to live here. We like it here and we don't want to go back but if I don't get my pension we might not have a choice." Ha ha haaaaaaa.14 points

So, let me get this straight. Hibs are a shambles of a club because; 1.We've let a manager go who was underachieving, lost the dressing room and may or may not have made his position untenable with actions and behaviour against the executive team 2. We've had a lengthy interview process in order to secure a new manager suited to the club 3. We've offered terms to one person, who, for whatever reason has decided not to accept the terms of the deal(one of which maybe, despite a handsome salary wanted extra to stay in our lovely capital city) 4. We've offered the same deal to another individual (of similar credentials to candidiate one above) who has accepted the job and is keen to get started. f**k me there are some fucking roasters on here including some of our own. Heckinbottom may or may not work out but to suggest Hibs haven't gone about this process in the correct manner is nonsense.12 points

https://www.dumbartonfootballclub.com/news/?mode=view&id=3946 A really good statement from the chairman here and paints a much clearer picture of why we are where we are. It's good to see him calling out the owners as well.11 points

Ranger's history was an absolute disgrace to decency. Fucking dogshit of a club and fanbase. A shameful history that should be a massive embarrassment and should have those involved begging for forgiveness is instead held up as some sort of grand institution by their horrible fanbase and bought and compliant media. Zero sympathy for Rangers. Utter filth who deserved to die. A vile, scumbag institution who promoted hatred and bigotry and tried to bully Scottish football alongside Celtic. Sevco have picked up right where the dead club left off. HMRC are absolute heroes for their part in killing Rangers. The roaster element/percentage among their, and now Sevco's, fanbase was/is far in excess of any other team save Celtic.11 points

So the Lowland League and Highland League and SPFL, who were unwilling to move the Boundary when Montrose were in danger of being relegated out of League Two (Montrose who are a long standing full member of the SFA and SPFL with a long history in the senior game, a loyal and decent fanbase and an excellent ground for their level) are suddenly going to change it because Lochee and Broughty Ferry want it changed? And are doing so in a cloak and dagger way without making anything public or consulting with clubs who may be affected? All without any leaks to the likes of the Courier or the Press and Journal? Can you see why maybe people are just a tad sceptical?10 points

Can we just remind ourselves of KB's contributions on the subject 10 short months ago when it was apparent Clydebank were joining the EoS, he understood it all then, he pretends not to understand it now. Maybe it's because the piper is now playing a different tune.10 points

People bringing up the fact that Heckingbottom failed at Leeds. You know who else failed at Leeds? Brian Clough. Back to back European Cups inbound for the British Isles’ first side to enter European football.10 points

Crowds have gone the same way across all of Scottish football. The standard issue is subjective. The junior game i grew up on was blood and thunder but now it’s a different game. I also think many clubs have lost their local identities due to changes in the community. Growing up arthurlie were part of the community throw Shanks and the Kennel Meat factory but those business have gone and replaced by houses with Barrhead becoming a commuter town with people coming from out with the area not having the same affinity to the club. Joining the pyramid is not going to cure these issues but they could well help change the view of some people. Clubs need to do more in the community to get fans back along with improving facilities.8 points

Hope we get promoted and renew the artificial surface just to wind up all the roasters tbh.7 points

Allowing a different league in the same area has now bearing on the EoSL? As pointed out, it will have an impact on scheduling to start with. Second, there is no point of a pyramid if you still accept different leagues covering the exactly same area. For months now I have asked people like yourself for a valid reason why there should be 2 different leagues in the same area & why they can't just join the same league. I have yet to hear one. And don't tell me that "juniors have a different identity than seniors" pish, because you know just as well as I do that that's not the case.7 points

No they aren't, they are standing up for a decent football pyramid. There is no valid reason at all to allow ERJFA in the pyramid next to EOS, it's just not a reasonable demand from the SJFA.6 points
-
Nope thats just common sense as lothians/fife etc already have an established pathway for acess to the pyramid. As has been said numerous times theres no valid reason for one part of the country to have two leagues but the rest one. Sure the ERJFA has clubs outwith EOS territory but thats still some twenty or so clubs within EOS territory & a solution can be found for the clubs outwith EOS/LL territory6 points

Lang is obviously a woman of high principles who sticks to what she firmly believes in......well at least for 3 or 4 years. She could be Prime Minister. The piece interestingly highlights where we were when she came on board: with a Scottish Cup semi-final looming against Hibernian and a play-off place to be won as the season reaches its denouement, she would love to see the her home club progress with its largely homegrown players. And contrasts (not) nicely with where are now : Out of Cup to Stenny first round, a relegation play-off place to be avoided , with largely free agents & loan players and no homegrown players. Although it's not all down to her , it's a pretty damning reflection on her reign .6 points

There is no part of Gorgie that corresponds to a "nice day out". If you are at a football stadium in Edinburgh, you are miserable. Unless you are watching Hibs attempt to defend a 2-0 lead against 10 men with 3 minutes left on the clock. Then you are about to be enjoying life immensely.6 points

It seems quite clear to me that two posters on this thread (Kilbowie Benches and Lochee Boy) are engaging in an ongoing campaign of misinformation in pursuit of their own ends. I used to find it funny, but now it's just incredibly tedious. I only hope that anyone who might conceivably have influence in the decision making process regarding the shape of next season's Tier 6 is taking note; as IMO these two characters and their outpourings are strongly indicative of how they, and others like them, will operate within the pyramid ie to it's detriment, and quite deliberately so. Their twin objects being obfuscation and stasis.5 points

Three wonderful sides. Genuinely not a clue which side would better the other, because they were all very different. The mid 90s side was just a proper footballing side. Ball playing defenders in Mio & big Buff, wing-backs who'd get up and down all day long, wonderful technicians in Lambert & Davies, alongside the energy of O'Donnell, and the best front two I'm ever likely to see at Fir Park in Coyne & Arnott. McGhee's first side was just explosive. The plan was to get the ball down, and have you tucked away within half an hour. When it worked, it was an absolute joy to watch. The front three of McCormack, Clarkson & Porter just had the perfect balance of everything you'd want in forward players. The McCall side is probably Scottish Football's version of Kevin Keegan's Newcastle side of 15 years previous. Full on, baws oot, you score three, we'll score four. Gave us some brilliant football to watch, but just missed out on that defining triumph they should have got. I'll always look towards the mid 90s team as the no.1 for me, but I think nostalgia and the fact I was of primary school age makes them seem a bit more magical. Spent hours in the streets pretending I was Tommy Coyne or Dougie Arnott.5 points

It's to my continual disappointment that the camera cuts away as Higdon goes to find him after he scores that overhead kick, because the look on McPake's face was fucking beautiful. He'd clattered into his back early doors, had given him some shit, then didn't get another kick at the ball for the next hour, only for the big man to pull off a move like an elephant on a trampette and make sure McPake knew what time it was. McPake was garbage.5 points

A love of history, surely doesn't equate to wanting everything to endure, as proven by the example you provide yourself, rendering the wider point, unadulterated pish. The scale of debt at Rangers probably did mean fans were powerless to prevent liquidation when it arrived. Fans however were not blameless in it reaching that point. There had been stupid triumphalism as the unsustainable nonsense carried on. When belts needed tightening, we got 'We Deserve Better'. When warnings became louder, we saw them shot down and when it all kicked off, we got the impotent spite of 'Sink Us and We'll Sink You'. You end the paragraph by implying some sort of wrongdoing on the part of HMRC, rendering it arguably quite the pishiest paragraph of the lot. It's rivaled however by the final paragraph, with its claim that more wallopers follow the OF simply in line with the fact that more people do, thus ignoring the very specific and deliberate appeal that those clubs have for the emotionally immature and the nastily prejudiced. Reading it back, I actually think my initial assessment of your post was wildly flattering.5 points

We are delighted to announce that Mick Kennedy and his backroom team from colville park have decided to take the Darvel job , he will remain at colville to the end of the season and take over the role for start of new season . This is a massive appointment for us and testament to the work that has happened of the park over the last few years that we can attract someone of Micks calibre . welcome to the club mick and all the best for rest of the season at colville4 points

How about the £400.00 unreceipted expenses they can claim EVERY month on Food!!? FOOD FFS. (This is in addition to overnight/dinner expenses) In how many other jobs could you take the missus for the monthly ‘big shop’ at Sainsbury’s and say at the till, ‘it’s ok hon, put your purse away the Governments getting this one’!? Why should the taxpayer stump up for their breakfast roll or a fish supper!!? Greedy, gluttonous Pigs the fuckin lot of em.4 points

Agreed. For all our on-pitch issues Brabco (and their legacy) are still the biggest challenge facing this club. The work that John Steele and the directors are doing is nothing short of admirable given the circumstances, and quite a few of our supporters on social media should maybe think about that when they start calling for them to be sacked because the kitman resigned, or because they're not throwing their own money at players. It's a shame that the guys on the pitch haven't performed this season. If they had then, coupled with a transparent and decent board, we'd all be feeling pretty positive - despite the challenges that are ahead.4 points

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, “If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately”. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died from lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me “Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through.” I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your posts gave me cancer anyway.3 points
