  1. After 4 months of chemotherapy my consultant told me today that my cancer is under control and I can come off chemotherapy! Have the small matter of a stem cell transplant in April/May time which involves more chemo but for the time I am drug free!

  8. I read this with no connection to the juniors or EOS leagues I do get a wee chuckle reading how the juniors have continued to knock back the opportunity to get involved in the pyramid for years but after there members decide to vote and accept it now after the mass of east teams jumping ship last season they now have a right to decide there own terms and rest of the established leagues have to agree to it shouldn’t it be other way round you get invited and then accept your place surely if what some junior teams think this is a done deal then id be worried as if it was it would have been reported on in every media circuit all over Scotland by now

  11. For heavens sake, what does this particular minutiae matter? You’ve been told what leagues are represented at the PWG and, depending on availability, I’d imagine the individuals concerned may change a little from meeting to meeting, but the same interests will always be represented. You’ve also been told, time and time and time and time again what the hurdles are that need to be overcome but time and time and time and time again you have chosen to simply ignore all of this or to be deliberately obtuse, concentrating on sidelining the discussions as above and offering absolutely no material evidence to support your assertion that the SJFA are “in” at Tier 6 next season. The rules that govern the Pyramid simply cannot - and surely will not - be ripped up at a whim so, again, how are all the problems that these rules will put in the way of your assertion becoming reality going to be addressed to bring about what you claim?; - HL/LL boundary as it affects Tayside clubs feeding into the EOSFL (as per the rules previously and often stated in this thread). How will it be overcome? - EoSFL ‘veto’ on proposals that would bring a geographically overlapping ERSJFA into the Pyramid (as per the rules previously and often stated in this thread). How will it be overcome? - NRSJFA and ERSJFA not gaining straightforward access to the Pyramid but WRSJFA making proposals that would see them gain access (probably unopposed) despite the SJFA AGM resolution giving a mandate of all in or none in (as has been stated previously and often in this thread). How will this be overcome? Please, if you can, be precise.

  12. The ironic thing is they were criticising the slagging of Petra. The person who made the post is a regular on that page too. This forum is much better IMO. The majority of posters - including opposition fans * - have a reasonable knowledge of football and the debate reflects that. Many of the posts on COYB are so OTT that a lot of it just reads like a bunch of drunks trying to outshout each other. Apart from which, I've never been banned from P&B. So I'm kind of biased in favour of this place. * One or two Morton posters excepted obviously.

  17. And the SFA will side with the SJFA. All playground stuff for me. Personally a don’t have any issues with the ersjfa coming in at tier 6 next season as long as there’s a plan to bring us all together under one structure the following season. Would lead to another transitional season as this is but for the longer term good would need to be accepted. The whole episode from associations to clubs reeks of self preservation. The sensible approach to combine all under one banner needs strong leadership by the SFA and there will be casualties as there always is with any reorganisation in any business. Its football we’re talking about here and the focus must be on having a single structure and clear pathway for all clubs to find there level. Let’s create a new association and disband the eosl and sjfa. There are good examples of best practice from both the eosl and the sjfa that should be used in any new organisation. Despite what other people say in this chat it isn’t all rosey in the eosl as it wasn’t in the ersjfa either.

  22. I agree with you, it's becoming rather repetitive. So let me ask you, hand on heart what is it that you seek from Brexit ? Freedom from whatever it is that haunts many British Nationalists about the EU, illusory or otherwise ? Or freedom for the UK to finally become Baldrick to America's Blackadder as we jointly intervene in sovereign economies and undertake illegal military adventures whilst arming despotic b*****ds to the hilt, as long as they are 'our' b*****ds ? I'm almost 63 and I've watched the UK descend into a grubby, greedy, grasping, immoral and corrupt little island. The EU has many, many faults, but it is my firm belief that retaining membership is the best option for the UK, Scotland and my grandaughters' future.

  24. I would personally think a regionalised tier 8 would be better. Just my personal preference, but I don't like too many big scorelines in a division. With a tier 7 division the best teams outside the EOS Premier would be together and the poorest teams are better off together in a regionalised tier 8.

  26. Spot on. The irony is that the SJFA had their perfect chance to control all of tier 6 and below in the pyramid when the LL got set up & HL got included in the pyramid. They could easily have swallowed up the SOS & EOS in the process if they would have played it smartly. They missed their opportunity and are now making excessive demands in the east...

  29. The interview with Steve Conroy was quite something. Absolutely unbelievable line of questioning. The line “Do you think it’s a concern that there’s more Rangers supporting referees than Celtic?” was a particular low point. Sums up this country.

  30. I was on my stag doo when we got pumped off Alloa and that idiot got sent off. March 2014 or if you prefer nearly 5 years ago when not 1 single player probably is still at either club. Fail to see how that match helps to make your point or is relevant. I could bring up this game if we want to talk ancient history.

  31. This was some day. I spent it with my Edinburgh-based Aberdeen supporting pals, at one of their flats in Leith. We turned up around half 1, with about a billion lagers. Twin screen setup, one for FIFA, one for the buildup and both Scottish and FA cup finals. It proceeded as you would expect. We all know what happened in the game. Scenes. Scenes. Scenes. As they cleared the pitch ready for them to lift the trophy we thought we’d take a trip to enjoy it with the locals. Some pub at the bottom of Leith Walk (no idea of the name) was sloshing out the Prosecco on the house, so we dipped in there for a couple of pints and a singsong as they lifted the cup. Magic. Skipped back up to the flat to finish the lagers and watch the FA Cup final. Dreary match livened only by Alan Pardew outing himself as a nonce with that dance. We weren’t caring. We were flying on the fact that the **** had been skelped. Out into town about 8, had to get a taxi up Leith Walk, passing pubs FULL of people, spilling out onto the pavement and roads. Fantastic scenes, pure joy. Went for karaoke at Electric Circus. We got a private booth so we could be Dandies again. All the hits, all the big ones. Brilliant. By this point I could barely see, and got KB’d from Hive. Somehow managed to get into Sneaky Pete’s, and boogied until frogmarched back to my partner’s flat at the top of the walk. Rolled out of bed the next day to watch the parade go by. Rounded off a super weekend supporting the Hibees. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. f**k THE ****

  34. 40yr ago then When was the last time Morton sold a player for hard cash ? also are we talking Alan Mahood, Brian Reid era re selling a player model ? Id guess we have made more money in transfers post Bosman (rough guess Id say around £3M) than we did pre Bosman and probably the same with quite a few clubs, so I dont know how you can blame Bosman. We used to be kings of taking 50k or so for our players whilst the likes of yourselves, Airdrie and even Raith were getting six figures.

  35. Had this at my work last year. This big girl who moved into our team about 6 months beforehand and was completely fine, all of a sudden one day absolutely reeked of fish (aye it was coming from down south) which stayed for months. She’s got severe anxiety or something which is why she was moved into our team in the first place. It got so bad that one day I walked down the canteen which is separated to our office by a hallway, and I could tell that she had been there. Complaints from the boss were taken however nothing was done for about 9 months. 9 months of coming in to do a shift and smelling fishy fanny. If it was one of my colleagues I was closer to I would obviously have just told them, however I think if anyone had actually said to her she’d have burst out into tears in the middle of an office full of hundreds of people. After finally being told off for it, it went away for a good while but it’s been coming back. To be continued.

  38. So pretty much we have 1 region on juniors having a meeting about a PROPOSAL so surely the rest of the junior regions will need to have a meeting and draw up a PROPOSAL unless 1 region makes the decisions in juniors so that the elected members can take to the PWG group or whoever and show that PROPOSAL who will in return debate and either agree to the PROPOSAL or decline it and hopefully that board (PWG or whoever) has a counter PROPOSAL and only when both sides accept it will they be admitted into the pyramid system unless it’s too much common sense

  39. Like interpreting scripture, defining what exactly is meant by 'Leave' is beyond almost every UK politician and pundit so your suggestion that voters should have migrated to the Liberals is utterly fatuous. Meanwhile back in the real world, the only clear 'leaving' is being conducted by UK-based companies, head offices, jobs, EU nationals, etc., and absolutely all of it caused by internal divisions in the Tory Party.

  41. What I believe Falkirk are trying to achieve is comparable to what is underway at Motherwell and St. Mirren. ………and at Hearts and Dunfermline without Administration Procedures achieved under single person Majority Ownership. A measured exchange of collective additional financial assistance in exchange for shares. I've spoken to and with those involved at Motherwell and St.Mirren, and historically with those at Hearts and Dunfermline. Community Ownership ( not Fan Ownership ) DOES NOT mean that 'fans' take ALL decisions. An appropriately constituted Ownership Model will be in place, where individual fans AND any other club stakeholders will take collective ownership of a definitive number of shares. Should they own sufficient shares, they would appoint an Executive to run the Football Club on their behalf, with perhaps a couple ( of appropriately qualified / and hopefully democratically elected representatives ) sitting on the Executive Board. Community Ownership is not about Playing Staff and/or Managers, it is a simple way of ensuring that grievous decisions regarding a Football Club cannot be made by a single person, based on their own person circumstances. Community Ownership Models can ( should ) also include an 'Asset Lock' which ensures that the Stadium, Ground, Car Park or any other notified Assets cannot be sold, unless certain pre-determined constitutional conditions are met. What Community Ownership does NOT provide ( unfortunately ) is a panacea for all the financial issues at the club. Dundee in Scotland, Swansea, Portsmouth, Stockport and Notts County in England are examples of when 'fans' have voted to accept selling collective shareholdings to people or organisations promising; a moon on a stick / finances to advance the club ( delete as appropriate ) What is without doubt is that 'fans' will come together to 'save' clubs. Indeed I'm sure Bryan Jackson has stated that the fanbase is the BEST option when looking to exit an Administration. Good luck to those at Falkirk for acting in advance.

  44. I genuinely don’t think any Airdrie Fan really cares but it’s good that it irritates you. I’m happy to acknowledge the liquidation; a warning to us as to what could happen again. What you believe a football club is as a concept is pretty interesting. Do you go with a Franchisee model where we were Clydebank in a previous life or is it the people, Supporters, Stadium etc? If Annan have our league membership does that mean it travelled via Gretna and we can lay claim to 3 championships and a Scottish Cup Final?! If so... I’ll be sure to give Annan a wee cheer and support the new Franchise at the same time..... if only just to annoy you [emoji815]️

  46. Oh, I seem to have hooked school bully on my line! What exactly is it that you had against Mclean? Was it, just like every bully, you pick on the youngest & weakest? Was it that he had the audacity to respond to one of your taunts from the sideline? At every opportunity you’ve made some bizarre comment on here about the boy. That enmity you accuse me of is most certainly all yours. So, let’s focus on yourself, Andrew Cochrane, father-in-law of Willie Gibson. We at Peterhead FC would liked to have welcomed you into our family but you made that rather difficult owing to your unacceptable conduct at matches. You stand at the corner of the pitch nearest the pie stall, wearing your QoS jacket, shouting derogatory comments at players. Not much wrong many would think, but when it’s Peterhead players and filled with antagonism then it’s rather unacceptable. How many more Peterhead players shouting back at you to shut up will it take until you cease with your abhorrent behaviour? I wonder if Willie’s continual drop in performance is attributed to his embarrassment at you shouting at his teammates at every match? I read with astonishment your recent comment about an Albion Rovers supporter haranguing the officials and you having to explain to your 6 year old grandson “that was not the way fans should behave and that that fan showed his club in a very poor light”. It was rather ironic, as throughout that match, you perpetually harangued the Peterhead players while you sat in your Glasgow Rangers top. Your conduct was more akin to that of some young, low-life at an Old Firm match, not that of a mature man related (loosely) to a Peterhead player. Furthermore, that post is so hypocritical it beggars belief. Let me ask you this question. Have any of your grandchildren ever asked you “why are you shouting BEAST at that player”? You even seemed proud of doing so in your posts on the Clyde and Edinburgh City threads. How hypocritical can you be? But, more importantly, how dare you conduct yourself in a manner likely to bring the good name of our club and supporters into disrepute? Your conduct is that of a repugnant, odious and embarrassing individual who should have no place around Peterhead FC. My season ticket and match day ticket purchasing fellow supporters have another issue. On here your weekly posts include your travelogue. Who cares? Well, strangely we do. When a non-supporter is receiving a players travel expenses and gets into all matches by a complimentary ticket, we feel aggrieved. Why should us that have followed the club through thick & thin pay the price to allow a Queen of the South supporter free access and travel to matches. Oh, and let’s not forget free accommodation on a Friday night at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel, paid for by Peterhead FC. It is grossly unfair, especially when it is a players relative, one who disrespects our club as you do. I’ll conclude by advising you that I’ll be at Balmoor next week for the Edinburgh City match. The big question though is, will you?
