  2. He has. I was in most of yesterday; it's a long time since I've seen so much hilarity from a bunch of footballers. The boys look to be in very good spirits. Hopefully that pays dividends tomorrow.

  3. I'll be disappointed if the crowd isn't over 6,000 for each of the next two matches tbh. This level of Juggernaut is exactly why Ray ditched Morton and we can't let him down

  6. Imagine being so craven and spineless that you are desperate for a horrible crime(s) to be true in case it damages the chances of a country being able to govern itself one day. Surprised you can even leave the house such is the massive shitebaggery you display. What a horrible little cretin you are.

  10. The next couple of games will tell us whether we're in a classic Dundee-shiting-the-bed scenario or have indeed turned a corner. Classic Dundee-shiting-the-bed scenario has been around for donkeys years. I first experienced it in 1989-90, where after a truly dreadful season we somehow strung a few good results together in the last few games and started clawing back a sizeable gap to St Mirren. Getting our hopes up we duly played the vital game against St Mirren at Dens, scoring in the first minute, before missing a penalty after 15mins, then shiting it to lose 2-1 and be effectively relegated. The classic pattern will therefore be a hopeless home defeat to Motherwell, then a pathetic surrender to Accies. I feel weirdly optimistic. I'm not liking it tbh.

  13. This morning, a group of Americans and I were making small talk while waiting on a meeting to start. The topic of my accent came up, as it often does when meeting people for the first time. I was born in Scotland, grew up in England, spent time in Australia and have lived in the US for over 25 years, so admittedly, it's tricky to pin down. As tends to happen, one guy told me with pride that he was "Irish." I've heard this from many, many Americans over the years and while most just want to acknowledge our shared kinship, I had a strong feeling this was the type to give me a lecture me on British foreign policy. So,I got in a preemptive strike and asked him where in Ireland he was from and when he moved...because I couldn't detect an accent. Of course, he'd never set foot in Ireland and would probably struggle to find it on a map but having to admit this pissed him off a bit more than I really intended. Anyway, the conversation moved on to safer ground and the next question I got from the group was another perennial favourite "So, who do you support - Celtic or Rangers?" I launched into my boiler-plate explanation that other fitba teams are available while wondering if anyone in this group would come out with the "You support a team called Fücker?" line. Out of the blue, up pops Paddy, determined to reestablish his Gaelic credentials. "Now see...this is what annoys me! You don't even know how to pronounce it. It's not Seltic, it's KELTIC!" It'll be a while before I'm back over so could one of you let the Weegies know they're doing it wrong? Thanks.

  14. Rossiter is a total non-starter. Robinson has already said that if he is to bring anyone in it will be a striker or a left back. This is likely just Rangers fed speculation to stoke up SPFL interest to take him on loan. I've been unimpressed by him any time I have seen him and his injury record is appalling. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a Championship team like Dundee Utd or someone take him. The news regarding Turnbull is unexpected and a massive boast. I genuinely think we could have a top player on our hands. Wednesday was the first time I have seen Jake Hastie for a prolonger period too and I was really impressed, his ability to beat a man is great to watch. How refreshing is it to have young boys from the Motherwell area playing for the jersey? Honestly give me that over Vanarama non-entities any day of the week. Wednesday reinforced to me the point that in terms of techincal ability our Academy is producing some very good players. In terms of technique I think they are often better than the standard of player we have been rectruiting in the last year or so. There are some hidden gems for sure but I think the majority of the time the boys from L1, L2, Conference usually have better physical attributes more than anything else. My point is I think we should be trying to introduce the young guys earlier than we have been and supplementing these players with the natural attributes some of the boys elsewhere have. There is obviously some exceptions to this rule but generally speaking I think our youth are more techincally gifted than the level of player we are able to bring in. Robinson can obviously point to the success of the young boys, Campbell and Turnbull but I genuinely think the likes of Turnbull would have made an impact last season. There has obviously been rumours about his relationship with Robinson, not sure how true these are to be fair. Interesting to hear Carson on the Si Ferry Podcast saying that him and some others had actually stressed to the manager last season that Turnbull should be in the team. I know there is a fine line managing young players but I would just like us to push these guys into the team a wee bit sooner.

  20. Why do folk give Kincardine the time of day? Chuck him on ignore and don't give him even a single fraction of the attention he craves. He's a jakey thieving trampy jakey c**t. He's a White Lightening soaked scaff who brushes his teeth with gin and gargles with Kestrel. An odious, reeking bin of a man with a toilet for a soul.

  21. What will damage the independence movement will be arseholes loudly proclaiming this to be a plot and conspiracy the entire time. The media will have a field day giving as much attention as possible to the cyberda contingent and making the argument that the Yes campaign is willing to prioritise the reputation an already irrelevant man over the safety and consideration of women. Regardless of whether he deserves people’s support, Salmond clearly doesn’t require your support.

  23. Just to also clarify some of the issues that keep arising on this site. We are at present looking to arrange meetings with our council regarding every issue that not only away supporters but our own supporters feel are important for the club to move forward. We will continue to push towards putting plans in place so that Huntershill can in time be a ground that every supporter looks forward to visiting. We ask for everyone’s patience for the remainder of the season and in time we hope that the council will agree to our proposals and help promote Rossvale fc within the semi professional level of Scottish football.

  27. We got slaughtered when we signed Shankland too (fat and shite) from what I recall. Worked out OK. Kerr was past it. Adams wouldnt last 3 games. Bell an average League 1 player at best. Gary Harkins on the other hand was going to be a superb signing. Moral of that fascinating story? That you generally need to wait and see!

  34. That's it in a nutshell I'm also not really one for 'making an example' and harsh punishments. They will have shat themselves enough and it would be harsh to stick the really damaging 'criminal record' noose round there neck for the rest of their lives for being a wee dafty at the age of 16 (and I'm not saying it isn't potentially dangerous, I'm just making the point that 'danger' wasn't the intention and at 16 they are daft enough not to think about things like that. Most of us will have done something reckless at that age, most of us are lucky enough to get away with it though). That said, I really hope we can accrue costs from somewhere - it's a shiter if it is not insured. P.S I'm off to change my laptop screen saver...

  39. I think you are well aware of the point I was making with that statement. It is a logical conclusion to draw. Let me make my own view perfectly clear. I am well aware of the the President's statement above and your own opinion on amateur status. You are perfectly entitled to your opinion. For me the opinions that people form aren't the crux of the matter. I am a realist and look at what actually the situation is. I was originally against signing loan players back in March 2000. When we brought in Paul Walker and Kevin Finlayson that was a huge leap for me and I wasn't happy about it. That is when we broke our amateur status. We were no longer fielding amateur football teams. People can say that we weren't paying them or any other excuse that appeases their own conscience but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the Club and the objects of the Club. Playing professionals is not maintaining the objects of the Club - to maintain amateur teams of football. At that time, there was no relegation from the bottom league. There was no real threat to our Club. That was the time, for me, that we moved away from the amateurism that the Club forefathers envisioned. Queen's Park are my Club and I support them through thick and thin. I was not happy with this change but it happened, I accepted it and I continued to come and support them. This is something that others should think seriously about in the coming months. Things change, not everyone agrees with or likes change. Whether this is your thoughts on Hampden Park or our amateur status, things will inevitably change Anyone who doesn't see that coming is burying their head in the sand. The Club needs all of its supporters (and a few more new ones) to stick by it through this difficult period and help it survive and evolve to be a senior football club in the south side of Glasgow and be an alternative to Rangers and Celtic. A place where parents can bring their kids to a safe and welcoming environment to watch football for the love of the game. I am not greatly educated and do not know Latin but if we need a new motto then I suggest that - "for the love of the game" (and not in pretentious Latin!)

  40. I see what he's trying to do, but if the suggestion is to start with that set up from next session, effectively bringing teams from the ERJFA in and placing them above teams currently in the EoS league and relegating current EoS teams 2 levels instead of the 1 they are all expecting, then it's a complete non starter. If all we are talking about is a structure, where all teams below the premier play in conferences for another season next year to sort out who goes where, then it could work.

  42. It is easier to present a united front when it is defined in terms of what you are against. The Brexiteers are against the EU, against the single market, against the customs union, against free movement, against May's Deal. When they talk about what they are against - they are agreed. Whenever they talk about what they are for - they are not. People voted Leave for completely different reasons. As long as they avoid the detail, they can pretend they did so for the same reasons.
