  12. Aside from the winter he signed Baird/Kerr, almost every one of Houston's signings made us worse than the player who left. Rankin replacing Vaulks was the biggest example of this but there were plenty. Houston was an excellent in game manager, seemed a good motivator and his tactics were very effective as he kept it simple and everyone knew their role. His major failing is in the transfer market.

  13. Rudden is only borderline good enough for the Championship IMO although there is good potential there. The **** have Hardie to recall too. It would be madness for them to take Rudden back. He is nowhere close to being good enough for their first team squad. I would like to see him stay on but if he is first pick every week I will have more serious questions on my mind than anythong about Paul Dixon.

  17. Not sure what people’s expectations of signings are in this window. It’s difficult enough to do any business in January, never mind the state we are in and the other teams position in the table versus ours. The Dixon signing, does sound like a Houston signing. However the issue when Houston signed these players is that you felt they weren’t going to win you the league. We are in a totally different position now where an average championship player might help us stay up in the end.

  20. Sorry, what? If real win their game in hand, there will be five points separating the top four. Real have lost five times this season, including to Levante at home and 3-0 shoeings from Seville and Eibar (population less than Stirling). Barcelona lost to bottom of the table leganas. I can't think of many games that have been over after half an hour. At the other end of the table, big clubs like Bilbao, Sociedad and Valencia are really struggling whilst Sevilla have put together a very entertaining side at the top. Also, it's incredible what Simeone has done over the last few years at Atleti, normalising them as domestic and European challengers with what they are up against.

  22. Not a compelling argument against to be honest.Shankland scored a shed load in league one last season and is doing so again in this league too. If a striker gets the service he will score. I would imagine Henderson will be on a lot of Championship club’s radar though.

  24. Kidd is a very average player who lacks pace athleticism physicality, arial ability and offers no goal threat. All of the abovePetra has, Admittedly I don't know how well he can defend but given the fact that Kidd certainly can't then if we bring in a more natural winger then Petra at wing back might be worth a shout.

  25. It's been clear for a while the big man isn't quite the required standard for what we need at the minute, but I had a lot of time for Bowman. I'll wonder what would have happened if he'd taken and scored the penalty against Accies on his debut. McGhee ordered it off him and it took nearly six months to get his first goal. One thing you can't level at him was his commitment. He'd always give 100%. It's always seemed as well that anytime he'd get a couple of goals in quick succession, he'd soon pick up a knock or a wee injury. It's the right thing to move him on and get a replacement in, but he'll go with my best wishes. The seethe he generated from the cream buns will live long in the memory. Awra best Ryan!

  26. Are you for real? I'm dumbfounded that some fans expect us to be signing players that the likes of Ross County and Dundee Utd will. We are in a mess and if McKinnon signs some average players for this league then that is already an improvement on what we have

  31. There's a theory that they deliberately make Christmas Cracker jokes shite because everyone reacts the same way to them, therefore it brings people together. Similarly, Turkish carpet weavers always put a deliberate mistake in, because to produce a perfect carpet would be an affront to Allah, since only He is perfect. Likewise, all those spam emails you receive from Nigerian princes with £20m to give away. All the grammar and spelling mistakes are deliberate, because people who don't notice them are more likely to for for the scam anyway, so it saves them much time. Please remember all this next time you inform me there is more than one Christmas island, that Hokkaido ISN'T the highest scoring Japanese island because the second K is worth no points - or one of the countries with a Z has recently changed its name. Or that I simply chose the wrong Bond film as the correct answer for Dr Christmas Jones. With all that in mind, cup results to follow

  33. 1) The UK isn't a democracy. Currently, only 650 of the UK parliament are elected. A further 793 are unelected, and all acts are officially brought into law by another unelected "sovereign" 2) The UK is part of Europe. It can't vote to leave a geographic entity. The referendum was about staying in or leaving the EU. 3) At the very least, there is a philosophical argument that there is no God, and the various belief systems all appear to have contradictions when you compare them. Which God are you asking us to thank? Apart from these three major flaws, I think you have the basis of a great post there. Why not work on it?
