Once in a blue moon, one of the Glasgow arse cheeks (or a middle of the road English outfit) come calling for a young player with potential (Watt with ourselves, Spence at Alloa, numerous lads at Falkirk for down south) Straight away, this should be seen as a "cash cow" and should be milked for every sectarian ounce of its worth. £80k - £100k is about the norm to expect from either Glasgow half I'd say, and if you were really fortunate, a generous 6 figure sum from an English league mob (see Falkirk conveyor belt in the last few years Leahy, Vaulks to name a couple). There's no dressing this up, you've been absolutely hamstrung on this particular deal and blame can be laid at the feet of GF Locke all you like, but the men in the boardroom doing the dealings with "The Rangers" are every bit more accountable for this shambles. That's my tuppence worth anyway.

Absolutely this. Relegation to the seaside leagues is not a short term novelty it is a full on disaster, our income would fall off a cliff and I certainly don't buy into the theory that we could attract good championship quality players to enable us to skoosh the league. Relegation is a very bad thing.

The club is more stable financially than it's been for a few seasons. JMc is happy with the squad he has but wants clean sheets. Bates was a disastrous deal. Vaughan was a disastrous decision, and down to Locke. There are plans to restore modern apprentices this season with probably 3 and possibly 5. Fife Elite will be be using Starks as their home ground and that brings c.30k into the club. Youth Development Fund being rethought. JMc is very confident in the team and trying to tie down NF and DA right now. DA was only given a short contract because the club weren't convinced about him. He's since played a blinder so they're trying to keep him. Hendrys injury at Forfar was down to the poor quality of their surface. Rod Stewart will not be playing gigs at Starks. I'm sure there was more - anyone else?

These people give me the dry green boak. See the people that wanted God in the schools, mums at home and tough discipline for kids? They're the ones deeming people with terminal illnesses fit for work. They're the ones in charge of looking after veterans (an unfortunate Americanism, btw). As for 'kids these days', among young people we've got declining crime rates (though serious crimes are creeping up in England & Wales, hm, wonder why), declining alcohol and drug abuse, declining teenage pregnancy rates (now very low), declining numbers not in employment, education or training... even though we've wrecked their planet, priced them out of housing and saddled them with massive debts. What nonsense. The second booking represented the correct response to the player's behaviour. The Rangers statement could scarcely have been less measured or appropriate.

It's a bit of a sporting subculture too. People who watch Junior football may be so hardcore they will not entertain watching a game at any other level. Players that leave for Senior football may be viewed as grade traitors.

On a side note, its good to see the club are expanding on the social media side of things. It's an area I've been critical of in the past but we're getting far more of a presence now and making better use of twitter and Instagram. I know it's run by volunteers, but it's a good way to get the word out there.

Gaffer will get funds for January window. JMcG likes the artificial surface that we have but is weary of them deteriorating and becoming shite. My words, not his. He prefers grass.
