  2. I find it a little disappointing that that the alleged racist abuse is being used as point scoring by fans of other clubs but I guess that is the nature of the beast. It’s no great surprise that it is fans of Morton that are doing the bulk of the finger pointing. It’s almost as if they are taking pleasure from it all because Falkirk pinched their manager a few months ago. Also disappointing is the reaction from some Falkirk fans. Yes, the allegation remains just that until demonstrated to be true (or false) but by trying to infer something from the lack of verification on social media is deflection. The appropriate response shouldn’t be “well, nobody has said they heard anything” but should be to maintain an open mind until the full facts are available no matter how unpalatable they subsequently may prove. The claim that the whole thing is a fabrication created by the Falkirk board to detract from on field problems belongs firmly in the land of tin foil hats. The truth of the matter is if this allegation is subsequently discovered to be true then it doesn’t mean that Falkirk Football Club have an inherently racist support. Do racists exist in society as a whole? Sadly, yes they do. If racists exist in society then you are going to find them in football grounds unfortunately. You are just as likely to encounter a racist at Cappielow or Firhill, or anywhere for that matter, as you are at the Falkirk Stadium. It is, IMO, right that the alleged incident is highlighted. It should be vigorously investigated and if found to be true then the perpetrator(s) should be subject to the strongest, appropriate, sanction. The incident should be seen as a reminder that while things aren’t as bad as they previously were racism hasn’t actually gone away. It’s still there lurking within the hateful, ignorant and inadequate. It shouldn’t be used as a point scoring exercise between rival fans.

  3. Agreed, and it's fairly undemocratic to bankroll a campaign with Arron Banks funny money, to discover that Cambridge Analytica used mined personal data to wilfully attempt to skew the result, never mind a litany of half-truths and downright lies peddled by the Leave camp and the rabid right-wing media. The 2014 Referendum, whilst not perfect, was a model of probity by comparison, and on a far more representative turnout than that of 2016. May is trying to railroad the country into backing a shit deal on the disgraceful premise that 'people just want us to get on with it'; well I'm sorry Theresa, but we've arrived here only because of an ideological schism in your party, one which is routinely rejected in my country, a country which voted 62/38 to Remain. When my grand-daughters' future is being put at risk I'm not disposed to indulge in Marquis of Queensberry niceties about democracy when we are all at risk from a cabal of duplicitous right-wing b*****ds. b*****ds who are now being flattered by Trump's attentions - need I say more ?

  5. Quite. You can unequivocally condemn racism whilst still waiting for proof of an incident occurring. When something like this comes up, people are (rightly) very quick to come out and condemn racism, then when someone points out that even an alleged racist is entitled to due process, they are somehow an apologist or similar pish. Racism is for p***ks. Once guilt has been established, the person involved will be a p***k on that basis. Since I wasnt there, I am happy to wait until the relevant authorities have investigated and established the full facts that apparently not one single poster on here is in possession of. I do not however, currently trust the issuers of that statement to deal with the matter properly and fairly. As I said previously, they have chosen to piggyback personal agendas onto an issue of racist abuse. That is a fucking disgrace and they should be ashamed of themselves for that.* *keyboard warrior found.

  6. Sad to see so many pages of people on here lining up to effectively point and laugh at an instance of racism. Since racism has no place in todays society, it should correctly be seen to supercede any trivial (by comparison) club allegiances. It is completely irrelevant who it came from or which area of the ground. Once you step outwith the law and lines of decency it no longer matters which team you support. Who it came from is a scumbag and a criminal, unfortunately able to spout such views in any public setting until dealt with by the authorities. Hopefully they will be and promptly. The clubs statement is absolutely fucking rancid. To dilute the anti racism stance that should be a standalone conrnerstone of the way we operate by bolting on some cheap shite about "growing abuse" etc is opportunism at the really nasty vindictive end of the scale. This on the back of Langs "keyboard warriors" chat. Wonder if any of them were ever present when Fulston came face to face with the fans..... Then they would know what an easy ride they get. Perhaps its time for our fans to turn nasty again and let them see. So far, what they have suffered is nowhere near commesurate with the f**k up they have presided over. Since I am convinced they are standing in the way of a potential takeover, they now have a lot to answer for. I hope the SPFL f**k them over with the McKinnon thing now so we can hold their feet to the fire.

  7. Obviously we're dealing with fucking imbeciles here but what level imbecile do you have to be to broadcast it to a stadium full of fucking people? I thought booing a Falkirk player at Hampden was as low as we could go as a support but f'ck me this is utterly depressing - I hope the culprits are identified, named-and-shamed and fucking prosecuted. Absolute c'nts. And if any of the culprits are reading this then I'd like to wish them a sincere and utterly resounding f'ck you !!

  9. It's an interesting list that and it covers a number of different thoughts I have around the current squad. Main - Keep. He looked back to something approaching his best on Saturday and really deserved a goal. I don't think he's a 25 goal a season striker but he general graft and work looks a bit more useful when he's up there with a poacher. i.e. Danny Johnson. McHugh - Not fussed. I think he's had games for us where he's been absolutely class. The cup game against Hearts when he scored that outrageous volley is one that sticks out as I think he must have won about 50 headers up against Hearts array of giants. However his disciplinary record is woeful, once he's been booked we should just hook him as he loses the heid for 10 minutes afterwards. Bowman - In the bin. f**k me I'm tired of watched someone who seems to base their entire game around failing to trap a ball before chasing it towards a corner flag at breakneck speed. He's had a couple of purple patches with us but they seemed to coincide with Moult/Main being in form. While I think the furore around the Cardoso incident was spectacularly over the top, he's doing my tits in as he still jumps in to every header with his elbows round his ears. Frear - In the bin. I suppose us playing systems that don't require an actual winger has somewhat shackled him and he can't really be faulted for that. However, in the case for the prosecution, he's an imposter. If he plays a game and doesn't go past his man in the first 5 minutes just hook him as he's a man short. He rarely looks like he's bothering himself. Rose - Keep. I like big Andy Rose. I think he's underrated and, according to some of the shouts in the Cooper stand, he's shite. I think he does an absolute power of work in midfield that goes unnoticed a lot of the time. Bigirimana - Keep. Absolute #baller. ATS - In the bin. I know we shop in the market of guys who are on trying to get their career back on track but he seems to be less fit than me. I don't really think we can justify keeping him on when we really have no idea what we've signed. Tanner - Keep. I'm pretty gutted about Tanner's repeated setbacks as he has shown how good he can be. When we managed to get Bigi & Tanner in the same team some of the play around the edge of the box was absolutely delicious. Also delivers a wicked set piece and absolutely hates Dundee Football Club. Cadden - Keep. I know he looked to have plateaued somewhat but he was coming on to a game at right back. The mixture of him and Grimshaw (more on him in a minute) was excellent as it opened half the park up for Cadden to run in to. Seems to suit his game more as he isn't capable of using skill to beat a man. Grimshaw - Keep. I wasn't sure on him for a while but recently he's arguably been our best player. I think we can now see why he captained a Manchester United youth team and had actual money paid for him when he left us. Very tidy, looks like he would tackle anything and recently his mazy runs are what make my Saturdays worth leaving the house for. Mbulu - Keep. He looked assured at the weekend and has something about him. I don't think he'll quite eclipse Kipré but his inclusion added something that we've been missing for a while. If Dunne's back on Saturday I'd like to see what a back 3 of Dunne, Aldred and Mbulu were like. Gorrin - Keep. The pile on was a bit OTT tbh. I thought he was quite good on Saturday and Michael Stewart has said that he wasn't really briefed on things so he didn't know what role he'd played. I thought he looked tidy and quite a cultured player. More of the same would be lovely, thanks. Newell - Honestly forgot he even played for us until he was mentioned on another thread last week. I think tests have come back and have confirmed that his legs are, in fact, made out of cardboard and sellotape. Loans: Aldred - Keep. A total warrior and looks more at home in the middle of defence where his entire remit is to heider anything that comes near him. Big fan. Sammon - I'm playing 7s at the Oriam on Friday so if he wants a lift through he can hop in. If not then I'm firing up a GoFundMe to build a giant catapult to launch him back to Gorgie. In. The. Bin.

  10. Let me endorse that, but from another angle. I'm of an age that well remembers the UK joining the UK and all that has happened in the intervening years. And I also well remember what the country was like at that time; a flatlining economy, a decaying industrial landscape and a much more insular society than that of today. We didn't go abroad, or at least very few of us, and our minds weren't nearly as broad as they are today. That is, those of us who recognise that the EU of 2018 is far from perfect but who are also of a mind that you don't move house because there's a crack in the bathroom ceiling. Be under no illusions, the EU has been a force for good for the people of the UK. No wonder our continental brethren shake their heads and quietly despair.

  14. Feel shite for Dennon. Nobody should have to put up with that. The club should really treat the incident in isolation and be big enough not to lump it in with the general malaise at the moment. The vast majority of fans at any club are perfectly capable of directing impassioned displeasure at their team without resorting to racial abuse.

  15. As said before, the statements an absolute riddy, to liken racism to shouts about Craig Campbell is absolutely tragic from the club.

  17. I agree with you here actually. Its a nice idea and ideally would happen but racism is a crime and we all have the right not to be exposed to it and also a rihgt to expect the Police and security personnel put in place by clubs to deal with it as such. There is a bizarre set of expectations applied to football fans that doesnt exist elsewhere. Where does it end? Should I attempt to separate teo lager louts scrapping outside the game? Naw. In some circumstances I personally might intervene, but as I keep telling the wife when she starts her road rage pish, never forget that you have no idea who you are to get involved with.

  18. Really sobering statement from Lewis. Obviously it’s an individual (or individuals) that are responsible for this but I still can’t help but feel ashamed to be a Falkirk fan today. What an absolute embarrassment this whole season is.

  26. This nonsense about decent fans hounding the racists out really has to get wound in. I shouted some complete bellend down at Stark’s Park in 2006 when he was abusing Marvin Andrews. I was nearly ejected myself for making a scene about it, labelled a grass when what I actually did was challenge him, not grass on him, and had about three years of guys clipping my heels and having words in my ear on the way out of grounds, and being told to watch myself coming out of pubs. Why on earth should any “decent” fan put themselves in the position of fear and alarm when there are folk employed to deal with these things? Maybe nowadays these things are taken more seriously, but from experience, doing the right thing just wasn’t worth it for me.

  27. Against my better judgement I thought I would try and talk some sense into them. They genuinely don't think they've done anything wrong, and anything they have done wrong is fine because they make some noise at games. They'll be banned soon enough if they keep up that shite. Disheartened to know that I'm a Tory now though. My whole life has been a lie.

  29. I never thought I'd be sitting at the end of November thinking "Thank f**k Nisbet has signed a new deal. Hopefully we can get Flanagan tied down quickly too". For all his criticisms, Smith did make some excellent signings in the summer. The only one who has been underwhelming is Milne.

  32. They could have issued a statement which stuck purely to this subject, stated that they had received allegations concerning racist abuse against Dennon Lewis emanating from that specific area of the ground, and asking any fans with information pertaining to that, to contact either the club or preferably the police. But as usual they couldn't help themselves.

I get we probably need to do one because McCrea sponsor it but it doesn't make it any less awful that we've now had 2 player of the month awards forOctober and Novemberwhen we've picked up 1 point over those 2 months. Anyone bothering with the Meet The Manager night next Tuesday? 6pm in the Alan Rough Lounge. I might head along after work, make a mental note on everything that is said and then use it to moan like f**k when results don't change immediately.

  44. Totally with you on this. No idea what's been said, but I doubt it's invented. I'm also not buying the "If people heard it they'd have MMA'd the fan instantly " line. Most folks keep their heads down to avoid confrontation. Completely unacceptable from whichever Neanderthal has gone down that road. and hopefully a lifetime ban as well as any criminal conviction. Don't ever want to share a stadium with racists. But that club statement. Conflating a serious isolated incident around alleged racist abuse at the weekend, which is a serious police matter, with unsubstantiated insinuations of this being part of something more sinister vis a vis the squad and club officials as a whole is despicable in my view. Horrendous and yet another PR disaster this season, which creates a them and us mentality. I think the fans have been reasonably behaved this season given the disaster it's been.
