  1. Paul Patons interview fully vindicates my earlier post that we should never abuse players. We have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes.

  2. The 100th anniversary of the war’s end is the natural place to stick a fork in this annual charade; it’s not as if they were commemorating the Napoleonic Wars a century later. But the various poppy organisations have seen the threat and have tried to turn it into a perennial, Sevco-esque, Armed Forces Day shanfest and so it’s only going to get worse and more gammony every year.

  3. Kidd, Robson, Harrison and Brough all worthy of the praise they are receiving for today but Jordan McGhee is the absolute boy, consistently one of our best performers, we’d be well and truly fucked without him.

  4. Not saying I’m ITK or anything but I’ve heard from a respectable source Louis Longridge is URGING Ray to get him. Taiwo and Sibbs are on their way back. Marvin Bartley is signing on a 5 year deal.

  5. Wit are you slavering? All I was stating is that Lewis and Haber are utter rancid. I’d rather bin the pair of them and recall Ohara as back up, at least he tries.

  6. I have to say that`s very much not my experience with Naysmith. Very much the opposite in fact. As an example he was joking with the fans before the East Fife game at Methil saying that his wife was there so not to give him too much abuse. All said with a smile and a laugh. His interveiw yesterday was IMHO very much the exception and not the norm. He`s generally measured and gives a good analysis and any previous points raised re the fans to me were designed to protect the players rather than related to him getting abuse. We`ve had plenty of managers who responded much more to any criticism. Naysmith could clearly have done better yesterday in his post-match interview and in dealing with the press but let`s not over react to something which in my view is by no means a regular occurence.

  10. Glad we had an extra day to prepare against a team that was in Moscow midweek, and we still managed to set up without anyone at left-mid against the most attacking right-back in the league.

  13. FFS what is going on here? Drop Goodwillie, wtf planet are some people on? Drop Currie, omg, think he has been fine this season and as good as any other keeper in this division and as for anyone moaning about his kicking, jeezo, he is probably the best long ball passer we have in the entire team. Some people need to get a grip, can you imagine our team without Goodie well i can, remember the game he missed against Edinburgh, that was evidence enough for me, even Goodwillie not at his best is far better than not having him playing.

  14. Having Ralph at LB makes a huge difference. Not for his individual performance which was good, but having him out the side and no LB cover meant it affected 3 other players playing out of position. Not surprised we look better having everyone in the correct place. Feel we are still weak down the right. Deacon returning will make a difference. Hopefully McIntyre keeps the same defence now and with Curran and C.Miller getting played further forward I would hope to see better service for Kallman and Miller who can (hopefully) start scoring. Assume Ngwatala and Madianga are out of favour with McIntyre? I would have had both of them on the pitch yesterday before Nabi and Moussa.

  18. Harrison has been very good in the last two games and the 3 at the back seems to suit him. I would keep him as back up if not a starter. Irving is a talented laddie who I think will flourish with Bauben beside him; I would definitely keep him for the season if possible. Petra's one of those who is very unpredictable, can be pish and good in the same move! Move him on if we can get better but I think his pace and effort are certainly plus points that can be used when required.

  20. City’s defence wasn’t short, they were missing Danny handling and mark laird, neither of whom are defenders. Anyone calling for Goodwillie to be dropped must be having a laugh (and clearly missed last week when he ran riot). He is missing a few chances but when it clicks he will go on a scoring spree again. Our entire game plan needs to be focussed on playing to his strengths. Get Goodwillie decent service and firing and we will be sorted. It’s the supporting cast that need to up it for me. Mcstay shows flashes of class followed by moments of utter pish, far too inconsistent. Lamont again looks very good at times but disappears completely regularly. The Norwegian lad fades badly after about 60mins, hopefully that will change with games under his belt. Karim is far too greedy at times and tries to be over fancy when simple would do fine. These are all good players but need to show more consistency and play as a unit more. Our midfield got bullied at times again yesterday, after Stirling went 1 nil up there was a spell where they were winning every 50-50 and knocking our boys off the ball with ease. That needs addressed. Finally shouts of ‘f**k off’, ‘get him tae f**k’ etc are not helpful. I understand people are frustrated but after going a goal down the atmosphere quickly turned with Mcstay and rankin getting the brunt of the abuse. (Mcstay was very poor, rankin did ok imo) but not sure how telling these guys to get to f**k helps. We have a decent squad of individuals but Danny needs to sort the into an effective team unit, especially in midfield.

  21. Fickle reason if true! By definition depending on the opposition, a fan may not turn up if his/her team are to win/lose by a landslide. So they should only turn up if they think there is a chance. Surely fans should be turning up as they wish to support their team whatever the outcome.

  23. Went to this one today, fair to say it was a clash of styles. Bonnyrigg are really effective, they got a lucky break for the first goal, and capitilised by getting a quick second. BSC battled back well and played some decent football, but Bonnyrigg were well drilled and knew how to play to their strengths. I was impressed by parts of both teams, the young midfield of BSC, and the forward line of Rose. Overall it was a good game, and fascinating to watch.

  27. A decent performance and then an interview like that.... Benefit of the doubt and a couple of weeks worth of slack cut. Openly admit I have been hating him in a Falkirk top but if someone feels that they need to publicly discuss their health issues, however veiled, in order to justify their performances, I will shut my mouth and back off. Best of luck Paul Paton.

  30. At least one minterific banner of questionable spelling held with misguided pride. Six ex members of the forces marching out to the centre circle beforehand to lay wreaths of poppies. Two will be visibly disabled but in the "oh that brave wee soldier" way without actually giving us someone with Simon Weston style disfigurement; lest people start questioning the validity of ruining lives for the minor gains war brings. Loudly singing about Irish footballer, who has never played in the Scottish league, James McClean. Camera will find one middle aged wummin crying. She will milk this video later in the night at the bingo to get folk to buy her drinks. In four months time we'll find out the guy they hired to play the bugle never got paid.

  42. Maidstone United 2-1 Macclesfield Town (FAC1) watched Maidstone loads at their old London Road ground way back in the 80's, and also football league games at Dartford, but never been to their new Gallagher Stadium until today first game i've not had to drive to for absolutely ages (can make the trip by train), so managed three pints of Spitfire before the kick off... as this is borderline medway towns, there were the obligatory fat, sour-faced biffas drinking pints of lager with blackcurrant tops... ground was pretty fucking smart - one open side awaiting development, main stand and home terrace were great fairly poor game, but the train travel and associated boozing made for very fine trip indeed - i'll be back there before too long...

Very comfortable win for Cove who were miles ahead of Forres and if it were not for some great saves from Forres keeper they would have won by a far larger margin. Second visit to the new ground and still not managed to get a beer in the bar or a programme.

  44. Stevie is bumping his gums on Off the Ball at the moment. I only heard him for a minute or so before I got home, but he's already mentioned that he wasn't happy with the decision, didn't like being told over the phone (where he namechecked John Steele by the way), and thinks it wasn't fair to be sacked "after a wee blip". Also mentioned having 'eight' players out injured for his final game (did not mention that he signed them) and the fact "we stayed up and made it to cup finals". He's having smoke blown up his backside about the great job he did, in a league where we "had no right to compete" and where he was regularly tipped for "plenty of big jobs"... Listening to him talking like that makes me delighted we got shot. There's saving face and there's coming across as deluded, at the moment he's trying to totally re-write history.

  45. See when I was a wean I mind folk playing "house" and being "mummies and daddies" and that sorta caper. There was no-one shagging. This is going to be exactly the same but with the acceptance and equal provision given over to same sex couples. It's kinda weird that you think any education about LGBT issues is based on sex and not sexuality. When kids do get a certain age and sexual education comes along then they'll discuss homosexual sex alongside heterosexual sex. Now I was a horny as f**k teenager but when the teacher brought out weird anatomy dolls to show us what a cervix was and how a penis enters a vagina I didn't get aroused or want to shag a mannequin. I doubt the same talk featuring an anus will suddenly have made me want to shag my mates.
