I call it Derry. I also call it Bo'ness instead of Borrowstounness, and Caley Thistle instead of Inverness Caledonian Thistle etc ... Nowt to do with politics etc. It's just quicker to say. This leave me more free time to get on with the things I enjoy life. Although admittedly much of that saved time has now been lost writing this post.8 points

The quicker entrance to the Scottish Cup for junior teams is removed the better. Junior clubs want the best of both worlds.7 points

I think he is. We played a reserve friendly last Wed in St Andrews (v Dundee Utd) and not far off half the team was made up of trialists with the other half being former youth players. Dumbaya was fast, keen to get forward and composed on the ball. For me he was easily the best of the trialists and looked worth a punt. I think the news about Aero broke the following day so it wasn't a surprise that we gave him a contract. I like the fact that McKinnon evidently recognised RB is a weak position for us as he's not the first trialist I've seen play there. I thought he had a decent game today too, as some of the posts from folk who were at the match confirmed. From what little I've seen I think he'll do a job for us. At 31 he's probably not a long term signing but he'll hopefully be good enough for the rest of the season.6 points

I'd quite like Eleven to win them, as I hate indirectly funding the shite that is English football with my subscriptions to those services. I'd cancel Sky and BT immediately.5 points

In our work today there were a number of workshops to discuss stress in the workplace and how to deal with it positively. Seeing it as an ideal way to spend 30 minutes away from my desk, my boss and I signed up for it. Started out really well, the woman taking the talk obviously knew her stuff, and some of the hints and suggestions she was providing on ways to alleviate stress seemed pretty decent. The second part of the session had the group shutting their eyes, palms on our thighs, listening to her talk very gently, telling us to picture a happy place in our mind, blah blah blah. About five minutes after starting this I could hear the guy across from me snoring, quite soft at first, but gradually getting louder. My tongue is sore from biting it, trying to stop myself from laughing. In the end I couldn’t hold it in anymore, tears streaming down my face, and just burst into a fit of giggles. The poor guy was completely oblivious to having fell asleep. Howling.5 points

Watching Bates Motel on Netflix, the modern prequel to Psycho. A film that my wife had no prior knowledge. We have two young sons. She said the most fucked up thing that I've heard her say.... "When they grow up, I hope the boys are as protective of me as Norman is of his mum".5 points

I'm sure we've had this exact same discussion before, but the point of any league is to be a league for clubs at that level, and to provide the opportunity to progress. For some clubs, reaching Tier 6 is in itself an excellent achievement, whilst some clubs will see Tier 6 as a stepping stone on the way to Tier 5. That's true of every level of a football pyramid. Alloa are in Tier 2 of the pyramid right now, but their aim is to stay in that league rather than win promotion to Tier 1. Licensing is not for everyone - the point is to ensure that certain standards are met at particular levels of the game. The standards required for Tier 1 and Tier 2 are higher than for Tier 3 and Tier 4, and likewise those are higher than for Tier 5. There are still certain standards required at Tier 6 (eg an enclosed pitch), but those are not part of the licensing process. If a team gains promotion to a level with higher standards, they have to make sure they meet them. Asking teams to meet the standards for the league above doesn't make sense - the natural extension of that is that every club should be aiming for a Gold License, since that's what's required in Tier 1. After all, the whole point of the pyramid is for clubs in Tier 7 to be able to progress to Tier 1.4 points

Hibs do pay the living wage m8. We just don't feel the need to be part of the Living Wage accreditation scheme, as we believe the living wage is a right, not something to gloat about. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/14306415.Unspun__A_living__wage__nightmare/4 points

Tade is probably my favourite footballer ever. He wasn't anywhere near the best in terms of footballing ability, but there was something brilliant about having a forward who was more like a professional sprinter barrelling after clueless centre halves. Capable of ripping five players, doing a step over then shanking it over the bar. I still keep tabs on how he's doing, and he's currently in Israel and was playing with Antony Martial's brother and Yossi Benayoun after alledgedly getting a Romanian bird up the duff according to Google translation of tabloids. Man, myth, legend. Never change Greg.4 points

Absolutely. What an afternoon that was at Lochee - delighted with the draw. Streetlights came on midway through the second half it was so dark. If someone cannot enjoy the Lochee's and Bank o' Dee's then I frankly don't know what they are doing supporting a team like Ayr.3 points

Lochee-peak romance, I can't remember being so relieved at a final whistle in a long while, I enjoyed my day out at Lochee, maybe Rangers and Celtic fans will moan about having to play cannon fodder like ourselves at our own less than salubrious ground in the future.3 points

He's got a personality to be fair just doesn't shine through because of his English. The undisputed thing was decent but would of loved a gloves are off. Do we know why there has been no presser this week? Press conference is always the Thursday so will be tomorrow. A Gloves Are Off would have been shite when one of the guys has poor English. I don't understand the constant need for every fight to have 'needle'. Organic needle is fine but when they start the shite like Fury/Wilder it just becomes embarrassing. The build up to this has been low key and a breathe of fresh air to be honest. No bullshit.3 points

Ok so there you are, Grierson isn't going to be the new manager at Kilbirnie, and more than likely wasn't ever in contention nor wanted to be. Let's start the countdown till your wee dreamworld makes you try to convince us all that he was rejected by Kilbirnie.... [emoji99]3 points

It's ironic that five fuds who made a model and set it alight are being held to account quicker than the ones who cut costs on materials for profit or the ones who allowed people to live in a giant firelighter of a building ignoring warnings that it was unsafe...3 points

I absolutely despise this "move if ye hate yer job" patter. It's never as simple as that. People have responsibilities that require a wage, that means people need to take work that's available, even if they know it isn't what they want to do. You can't just sit waiting for your ideal job to turn up, and even when it does the chances are there's about 300 others after it too. Zero hour contracts all but remove any chance of folk with few qualifications of getting guaranteed work too.3 points
