Can we just accept the following: Houston done a good job for the time he was in however towards the end of his tenure things were going a bit stale and the replacements in quality for Vaulks, Leahy etc were sub standard/not good enough. Hartley understandably felt there was something going on when taking over from Houstie and had a clear out what was brought in were good enough to keep us in the league and pull clear of Dumbarton, unfortunately between Hartleys man management skills being sh*t and our English based Scout (Mitch) the 2 of them made a horses arse of player recruitment. McKinnons recruitment at Morton seemed to have them clicking prior to him leaving and provided he is backed by the board then i reckon he will do alright for starters at least he will have seen the players he recruited unlike Hartley. Long story short we cant do any worse and the only way is up providing the rest of the team get their collective fingers out their arses. Oh and we recruited a team that look like football players but are clearly not.9 points

That's absolute deviant behaviour tbh and I'd rightly be raging if that was a "fan" of Airdrie. There's wishing a former manager well (as a few airdrie fans have done with Findlay) but to hope his next team gubs us is a step too far"In the sea" springs to mind.8 points

Things on the Facebook group don’t normally get to me, but this (from a post speaking about Aitken’s links with Airdrie) has me seething. Why even bother supporting Dumbarton? Why not just follow Aitken up and down the country?8 points

The SFA continue to plumb new depths in their 'custodianship' of our game. The way this has been handled has been utterly disgraceful. I don't particularly think that Gazza should ever have been nominated but to use the man's health as justification for removing the offer, a man who has had well publicised struggles with addiction and depression, is fucking despicable. Yet again, it's another PR shambles of their own making - from Maxwell's insensitivity over the historic abuse to the semi-final fiasco to this, it's just a complete and utter dereliction of duty. And they're held to account to absolutely nobody. It's supposed to be a professionally run organisation but it's operated like a ten bob junior committee. An embarrassing bunch of charlatans.6 points

the reaction to this borderline barely smirkworthy non-story really - well - gets on my tits: no - you fucking idiots - accidentally typing "breasts" is not a "VERY rude mistake" a "VERY rude mistake" would be if it said "her cůnt looks stunning" or "James whatsit is going to be hanging out the back of that tonight, pumping her gaping arsehole full of cum" pathetic drivel by the sort of people who overreact to everything, the twats6 points

It might impact the fervour with which Stevie chases us for it though. Regardless, he's owed it, so we need to pay it. As for that facebook page comment, imagine being so utterly annoyed at someone else's opinion that you actively wish defeat on your team. Minter doesn't even cover it.6 points

I'm struggling to understand why you have condensed Houston's record to just 7 games - is it just to make your point look better? How do the stats look for both managers during their respective times at FFC? How do they look over their managerial careers , I'm sure Houston has won the Scottish Cup at least once.6 points

Apparently the finance director of Patisserie Valerie has been arrested over some financial scam. Have any pie and bovril members ever stolen huge sums of money from their work? Lots of people laughing at this guy on social media but I wonder what would happen if the choux was on the other foot.5 points

Seen on twitter the Chris Mitchell foundation suggesting Chris & Craig Gowans should be included in the Callander. I think this would be a very nice idea.4 points

Again..... And again.... And again.... Why is it so many folk cant see that failure to recruit better doesnt mean that the guys we had were somehow good enough and shouldnt have been punted. The two things are 100% not related in any way. It would only be related in any way if the stated aim of the club at the start of this was to avoid relegation. Then you can point and say "you had the guys for that" If the stated aim is promotion, then the guys we had went from play off final, to play off semi final, to utter shambles and IMO betrayal of Peter Houston. They 2 very clear chances to acheive the aims of the club and failed. Its really that simple.4 points

My stab at the starting XI tomorrow: GK Munro: he played in the last round Munro is away with the u21s so it'll be Fox RB Watson: Fraser is still out CB Morris: an ever-present since he came off the bench in the LC group match against Dundee United, I'd consider resting him for Grivosti. CB Fontaine: captain in Fraser's absence LB Stelios: hasn't played much at all yet RM T.Dingwall: a chance to usurp DKD CM Cowie: an opportunity to get match-sharp ahead of selection for the Ayr match CM Dykes: deserves a go after getting two goals in the North of Scotland Cup win LM Keillor-Dunn: a chance to build up his confidence more with an extended run in the team CF Graham: scored four goals in the previous round but was up front in the two goal-less draws since CF Stewart: a chance to make an impression That would be six changes but with lots of experience still in the team.4 points

Both those comments really got to me! How can you boast about how incredibly loyal you are (and question the loyalty of other fans) and then come out with garbage like that... Apparently I'm not as loyal because I haven't been alive as long as them4 points

Not just moved on. If they couldn’t find anywhere to go (remeber they are homless) then all their possessions were being seized by the police and held. I can’t begin to imagine how cruel you have to be to do this, even if you are ultra royalist these people without a home are still your ‘subjects’, if you can’t swallow seeing how some people live then do somthing about it.3 points

Actually reading it back, the reactions from people aren’t even that bad. No one has really even been aggressive towards him. Some wido just keeps offering to take his season ticket off his hands3 points

I already said that and I have sympathy with him. I saw the documentary on him and I don't particularly dislike him. I don't think his flute playing was sectarian, I think he was just a thicko who had no idea what it meant, just that the Ibrox faithful would enjoy it. Beating his wife is pretty unforgivable but I believe in second chances. None of the above though makes me think he deserves to be in a Scottish hall of fame.3 points

This thread is fucking tragic. Not sure I can take anymore. Can some c**t make up a credible rumour of a signing target to at least take the chat somewhere not focussed on the past? We could dissect this all till the coos come home, but what matters is what’s coming next.3 points

Banned from remaining games against Dundee this season and if Dundee do go down, he gets executed in the centre circle at our first competitive home match of the 19/20 season.3 points

Plus, the players who have a missus are already used to being told what to do by a woman.2 points

I would have zero problem with that at all. To be honest she would have the hunger to succeed because not only would she be the first but would be every other woman's shoe in the door. If she was appointed on merit I think it would probably be the best thing that could happen not only to Dundee but club football.2 points

Which he did to be fair after our poor start, he brought in Bigi and Johnson. We had some pace and movement up front as well as midfielder with a decent range of passing and it led to our best form of the season. We beat Livi, got a draw with Rangers(by far our best performance) and beat Dundee. We had a couple of narrow defeats to Hearts and Aberdeen then suddenly we were back to Main and Bowman up front, a shitfesting midfield with Bigi being made chief scapegoat and aimless balls being launched forward to little effect. Whilst Robinson’s new signings have been questioned, there seems to a real malaise among those who were already at the club last season with most dropping off a level or two from where they were. Guys like Carson, Aldred, Tait, Campbell, Main etc just don’t look to have the same verve they did last season. The whole team really, you watch us back from this time last season- the tempo, intensity and hunger from the players is night and day from what we’ve seen this season. Things just seem to have gone stale at the minute and it remains to be seen if Robinson knows how or if he even wants to try and change things.2 points

No it isn’t. In fact, much the same way the original Gaelic word for Kincardine isn’t Kincardine, it being a cod English affectation of the original. But, carry on as no doubt you know best.2 points

Winning team on the park = more fans. If we can climb the table and perform more consistently im sure the attendances will improve. Although maybe not as much as they would have in past years. It really is that simple. In the past when we have had managers playing a rather turgid style people have commented that it was driving punters away. Yet here we are averaging 4.75 goals per game at Palmerston with the "Deadliest Striker in Europe©" strutting his stuff and the crowds remain the same. Style of play is a complete myth when it comes to drawing crowds. It is down to success on the park, plain and simple. It's been done to death why we aren't a draw to a floating fan but in short it is because we never win promotion, or even flirt with doing so, and we don't often get relegated. We don't usually do very well in the cups, aside from the least important of the three which historically doesn't draw big crowds for anyone. It means that the vast majority of our games have very little riding on them, and that holds no excitement to anyone outside the hardcore support.2 points
