  1. It’s breaking my heart watching scum like Haber and Paton playing for the club I love and not giving a f**k. That coupled with guys like Dallison, Lewis, Harrison and ToE, who are clearly junior level at best, being given contacts means it’s very, very unlikely we won’t finish bottom this season. I am also shocked that Hartley and now Mckinnon have Fasan as their first choice. Nothing against the guy but Stevie Wonder can see he’s not good enough.

  3. Our second son was born on Tuesday just after 2am, delivered by my wife. She was walking around the room and saying that she was having a strong contraction, her waters broke so I pushed the button for assistance, I hurried to the door to get someone and as the midwife came in she screamed that my wife had a baby. I turned around and she was standing with him in her arms, visibly in shock and shaking. I freaked out a bit because this all happened within seconds. Both are fine and healthy thankfully!

  5. We're missing Dyl... but in the words of Blake in Glengarry Glen Ross "I'm going anyway" ... Does lightning strike twice? It does for Edmund. He's top dog again. And I'm sure he's "stoked". I'll be severely disappointed if he doesn't post a video / picture of Lizzie Birdsworth (the original one) saying "YOU BLOODY RIPPER!". Congrats also to Helpma ... another expat ... who has scooped his first ever second. Whoever said there isn't a Scottish brain drain is quite clearly talking cobblers. Oh wait. Forget what I said about a brain drain. Two more ex-pats ... MSU and Dublin Magyar are down. The dullards. Peasy23 is in the play-offs (if it, ahem, apPeases you Peasy23 for my earlier sleight ... the only Juniors game I've ever attended was at Petershill). In the SWL, it's back-to-back promotions for the hottest ticket in town, Christophe (shame his leadership skills in the cup were somewhat lacking). Another re-pat expat - Caspian Chris - is up into the Premiership, and yet another expat (although he might live here) - German Jag - is in the play-offs. Seriously ... what is it that draws expats to an Australian quiz on a Scottish football forum? At the other end, LincolnHearts and BWV (ex-pat) are down. And despite a season's best from me on Friday, I'm still in the play-offs. And so to the BHL. And quelle surpris, it's another ex-pat in top position. Well done to Ross. (arggghhh) - another founding father - who has yodelled his way to the top of the league. Tynierose is up and Leedsy (ex-pat) is in the play-offs. So it's over to the King of the Ex-Pats ... @SlipperyP ... for this weekend's play-off question.

  6. How quick will the club announce that McCann has been sacked? I’d rather it was sooner rather than later. Let the fans have something to be happy about on a Saturday evening for once.

  7. My book now has a cover. A part of the story is called Things to do in Tesco When You’re Dead, set during the night shift, so it’s in keeping with the story. Should have a physical copy to proof read in the next ten days. 238 pages. £9 a pop over there. $11 over here. Ebook to come. Ridiculously excited.

  9. Murray may as well not have been on the park. Did absolutely nothing. Not convinced he’s suitable for wing back, but definitely not RWB as it turns out, right footed or not. Flanagan was the only positive of the formation offensively, because get this, he’s good in forward areas. Pretty sure what we gained from having him there was balanced out by the amount of time Montrose got behind him. Maybe we could get revolutionary and try him on the wing. Nisbet has played centre forward, RWB and central midfield in the past two matches. No wonder he played like he didn’t know his arse from his elbow. Vaughan at times our deepest player, forced into sitting midfield. Milne contributed pretty much nothing. Bene/Davidson lumping the ball forward at all times. The list goes on, really. If you want to play 3-5-2 at least play players in appropriate positions. Wedderburn in midfield, McKay in defence, Watson RWB. Cuthbert has surely now blown any hope he had of the job, but why we’re in this position is the first place is entirely the fault of the board. Three weeks before even interviewing is bonkers. What a mess.

  10. I'm not sure why there is as much hysteria about today as there seems to be. For me there have been definite improvements in last two games in terms of general shape and defensive concentration/dicipline. Yes, mistakes are still being made and we lack quality in key areas but there are definite green shoots in terms of chances being created. Utd scored with their only two real chances today and neither were the fault of our centre half's who were generally comfortable throughout. Had we started with Rudden playing centrally and Lewis on from the start instead of Haber, I suspect it would have been a different result. Hopefully McKinnon seen that. Fasan is a bit of a liability though. I'm quite confident we will beat Alloa given the last two games to be honest.

  12. The signing policy you’ve mentioned is the exact policy that has saw Hearts top of the league and in the quarter finals of the cup. It’s about knowing your stuff and be capable of spotting a good player that Levien clearly does. Personally I’d always go for the tried and trusted at this level whilst taking a couple of chances per year on players from abroad and down south. The coaching and tactics at 1st team level at our club appears to be horrendous now. Weeks later I still can’t get my head around McCann’s tactics against Aberdeen. He said on the radio they had the best wingers in the league and as a result his tactics were to set up the team in a narrow formation to restrict the ball getting out wide. Surely you put a man up against them rather than leaving them acres of space. McCann left the players hung out to dry at the final whistle today. Shaking the hands of the Hibs staff then head down and straight up the tunnel leaving the players to take the flack, which never materialised because I think most think it’s the tactics 1st and foremost that are horrendous. He simply has to be sacked over the weekend.

  17. Playing a board game last night and she had to finish this advertising slogan, "I can't believe its not........" After 10 minutes of, " what's the name of that butter, is it Flora or what's that other butter called.......... " I actually can't breathe for laughing. She plumps for "I can't believe its not Utterly Butterly", therefore including the right word and another companies advertising slogan. My lungs hurt today from laughing.

  23. Benburb are very quietly and effectively going about their business, and it hasn't gone unnoticed in Rutherglen. When we played Benburb on the opening day of the season, we were very pleased to get the win as they appeared to be a good side that day. Eight games on and seven wins for them has proved that to be correct, and their win over previously unbeaten Rossvale was another big win for them today. When you take 25 points out of the first 27 on offer, you could be excused for hoping to be more than 3 points ahead, but fair play to Benburb, they are staying on our tails. The same goes for Cumbernauld United as well, only six points behind us despite us winning our match up there as well. The bottom three look in real trouble already though.

  26. One of the worst performances I’ve ever seen from us. Why were we so negative? That Dundee United team were there for the taking and we stood off them. Can’t blame McKinnon for the team but you certainly can for that god awful formation we tried to play. Paton is atrocious. Not one player was good enough with maybe Petra. That brings me onto the fact he was much better through the middle yet today he was punted out wide again today. Least said about Fasan the better. He’s utter useless. Dallison and Harrison are League one standard at very very best. Never believed for a minute that we would actually get relegated but now I’m not so sure.

  27. And to think some on here thought there was a half decent squad there! Gutless, shitebags who simply aren't good enough, another example of thinking players from the diddy leagues down south or abroad will stroll it up here. We're in a worse state than when Hartley left and McCann's arrogance and self confidence is fooliing no one....except on board unfortunately!!

  28. I'd be offering contracts to any free agent who has recently played at upper league 1 level or higher. I honestly believe you could pick a random selection of players from league 1 and they'd be an improvement on what we have.

  41. Catherine decided to take a header off the bed today when she tried to sit down on it by jumping in the air and didn't realise it would shoot her away like a bouncey ball. Bloodied nose and lots of tears and screaming. Lunatic. Fraser is getting stronger every day. Long way to go still, but tomorrow he'll be two weeks old and is back over his birth weight and has no tubes on him now other than his feeding tube. Wee fighter.
