  1. That's a bit of a strong word for one fan to use about another. Particularly when the fan in question is an inoffensive little guy who's been following Falkirk for decades. I made a post recently, in response to Shodwall I think, in which I explained the reasons why the likes of FFCTV have to be so tactful when interviewing managers. I'm happy to dig that out and post it again if you want. In the meantime, what exactly has Lewis done to be deserving of the word "coward"?

  2. You really should have a think before you post. Slating Fitzpatrick for posting stuff like that after what he has been through, very poor stuff.

  3. Tony lost his young son to the same illness that killed one of my family members in the same year. After What Tony has been through I don’t think he needs to justify anything he puts out on social media, despite how some people want to interpret the content.

  4. We all know what Tony went through it's something that never leaves you. If that's how Tony deals with it who are you to judge ?

  5. Just a wee throwaway poorly conceived jokey comment. You clearly know him personally so apologies for any offence caused. I'd not want to do that job and if someone is being a cock to a volunteer when they're a relatively well paid employee then it really doesn't paint them in a good light.

  6. On Sportsound Hughes rules himself out of the running. Jobby doesn't. Despite having the chance to bin the idea. Mmmm.

  7. I don't think you can blame the BoD for letting Hartley sign the players he wanted. Hartley is an experienced football player and manager and the BoD rightly assumed him and his scout would be better at evaluating players than them. There would be uproar if the BoD had stopped Hartley from signing the players he wanted.

  10. Let me put my colours on the mast right now incase that wee bit of ITK is right. Leaving all the daft patter aside, i was positive about Hartleys appointment, happy with what he did last season, and behind his project and genuinely excited for this season. Wont deny any of that.... But at this moment I am fucking SHITING MYSELF that we take Kenny Miller. A fucking moron of a man. I will be seething if we appoint him.

  11. This 100%. I genuinely can't believe folk are saying Hartley was wrong to get rid of x, y and z. We were utterly atrocious last season and each and every one of those players deserved to be emptied.

  13. Thanks, that's what I expected. It did seem a strange statement - you were almost wondering if there was going to be a follow-up saying they were going to try and fulfil the Scottish Cup tie in a few weeks, or similar. As you say tragic that a club dating back to 1880 - claiming to be the oldest in the Borders indeed - has ended like this. Think they may be oldest SFA members in the Borders, too. Participants in the first-ever rugby 7s... winning the inaugural Border Cup... death of Bob Mercer... nursery of Bobby Johnstone... players capped for Scotland Amateurs... Stirling Albion 20-0 Selkirk... Developed a nice little ground with the pavilion, terrace and stand - granted the floodlights weren't paid for. That's a lot of history, a lot of passion, a lot of people long-dead - and living. R.I.P. Selkirk FC.

  16. Fitzy is one of the nicest, mildly spoken men I've ever met. I'm a firm atheist but if he wants to post this religious stuff on his personal twitter that gives him strength to get through something truly heartbreaking that happened decades ago then he can do it all he likes. It's his faith to express however he pleases. I can't even begin to imagine the agony the guy has gone through and has lived with for all these years yet is still an absolute gent. If his faith gives him strength that he'll be with his lad again someday then who are you to try and take that away from him? Also, hark at the guy yammering on about our former captain, cup winner and legend being a 'loser', possibly posting from his mammy's basement for all we know.

  20. Exactly this. Many fond years at Ettrick Park as well and so many people in the town affiliated with the club in some way... but somewhere along the road Selkirk FC lost its identity in the town and there should be people involved in the committee over the past few years having a long hard look at themselves. Thinking back to 10 years ago...albeit struggling in the East of Scotland Premier and battling relegation most seasons, a team of Borderers won the Image Printers Cup. You had families down watching, Youths and Vics involved as one big committee and the bar in the club would run on a Sunday with the big screen up attracting plenty of punters. The Lowland League has turned out to be one slow painful death for Selkirk FC. Chased a dream that was never going to happen. Still can't believe that the committee didn't see it coming and put anything in place to stop this. From what I've heard they foolishly followed a chairman who seems to have been involved with the club to try and enhance his own personal business gains. Not sure if any action will be taken legally in regards to that. Anyway it's done now and fingers crossed there will be an amateur side and Youth set up going strong by the end of this season. It's always been a challenge competing with rugby in the town, but they and the cricket club have offered their changing facilities to help out in the current plight. Hopefully the community pulls together and we don't lose football altogether in Selkirk.

  27. Saw wee Lewis from FFC TVs post on Facebook. If he doesn't like someone he must be an utter p***k, given he's the mildest mannered guy in the world by all accounts.

  39. To be honest Fitzy is part of the problem. He is a club legend and a fans favourite but he spouts some amount of pish in the media. We have not replaced Brian Caldwell and have struggled since his departure.
