  1. He'd be flying at you really fast and you'd get excited about the pizza getting there real soon and then he'd turn off at a bizarre angle while trying to throw you the pizza but it wouldn't have anything like the required distance on the throw and would land about 6 feet away from you.

  2. It's funny, your board who appointed Ian Murray didn't deem it necessary to give a call of courtesy to our Chairman when you wanted Ian Murray. You spoke with him unofficially and once the deal was done the official approach was made. No tears from me, he'd have gone anyway, but it's funny that you're disgusted with such actions. Some might call it karma, eh @Div?

  3. Is it so hard to understand that there are good (LTHV / Leith / Hawick) and poor (Tweedmouth / Ormiston) EOS sides and there are good (East Superleague / top half East Premier) and poor (South division / amateurs) sides moving over? Yes, there will be both "dross" and good sides in the division, but that's the whole point of a transitional season. The "dross" sides drop into EOS Division 1 and the good sides form the EOS Premier (or whatever names the divisions will have from 2019). People who are pointing out that the likes of Bonnyrigg will thump teams like Tweedmouth with double figures might be right, but they are highly unlikely to be in the same division for more than one season. After one season, the better teams play each other and have the chance to move up to the LL, while the poorer sides can just enjoy their football at their level against each other. Exactly the whole point of a pyramid!

  5. The worst thing about the "Banter Years" is Celtic fans thinking everyone's on their side now. I'd happily see both clubs, and fan bases, hurled towards the Sun.

  6. A few years ago I started to get some pains and tingling in my hands, went to the doctor and he said probably a trapped nerve in my neck but just to make sure he took some blood for tests, couple of days later called back for another set of blood tests as apparently I had high blood sugar. Go down to the Doctors’s and new set taken, nurse then said “you have a very low blood count “ . So put on iron tablets and told need to go for further tests including endoscopy and colonoscopy. A couple of weeks later get the colonoscopy and endoscopy done, Doc comes around and tells me “ you have cancer of the colon” I didn’t really know what to say apart from “ok what happens now “ All I can say is that by the time I got home with the mrs there was several messages from specialist nurses and doctors on my phone. Pretty much a conveyor belt and fast [emoji106] Couple of weeks later surgery done and home a few days later. About a week later I had a call from my consultant telling me that they got everything and no need for chemotherapy or radiotherapy, to say I was ecstatic was an understatement. 4 years later still clear [emoji106]

  18. I’d say so. I’d go for naming the 4 stands Cox, Shankly, Steel, Gilzean. The most expensive hospitality suite named after George Anderson. Then Cowie, Scott, Wallace etc. Kosta & Wighton food stall in the away end. A bit of topic, do you think Yenited have played their last ever league game at Dens? I think so.

  19. I love it that whenever an SPFL fan comes onto the Junior forum and slags off Junior football for being parochial perma-diddies with delusions of grandeur so many Junior fans go in the huff and red dots come out along with a vociferous defence of "the grade" but, at the same time, are happy to belittle the East of Scotland league members. Hypocritical little snowflakes aint they?

  25. Wonderful move for Jack Ross, I wish him all the very best. Sunderland are a huge club in that piss poor league. He’ll be a major success there no doubt. He’s left us as an attractive proposition for any new manager. When he took over we were far from that. Perhaps the aforementioned Gordon Ross might be worth a shout, whoever he is.

  28. What a comment. You need to settle down and many on this thread need to chill out. Yes we’re relegated. The board, the management team and the players all have responsibility in this. But the nonsense comments in the emotional aftermath need to be wound in. Every new manager inherits a team and evaluates it to continue success or bring success. Archie did but he took us up when Ratnamara left we where struggling for form. Archie brought us up and I’m amazed at the fickle comments on here. I remember fans rallying behind the great response the team had when Archie took over and got us over the line. He then improved the squad and we were a premiership side. Secondly Archie then for 3 straight years improved our position in the premier league. He recruited well for a small budget in league. Not all players work. This year especially but he’s a fairly new manager. We played great possession style football pleasing on the eye. We all hailed Archie for his work. But again many forget the great work he did and we all rallied behind. Nobody is perfect. You guys have weaknesses in your jobs? I know I make mistakes and if every time I had a bad year I was fired and didn’t have leaders who believed in me it would be seen as unfair as how would I grow and learn in my career? Cut the man some slack. He took us to the top 6. The first time ever and best table position in 30 years. Lambie loved him and saw in him as a player, a captain and now manager something special. He’s had a poor season but there is validity to his post match comments regarding injuries, lack of continuity and he even admitted that he shoulders blame. But the comments from fans on this forum are a disgrace. I won’t beg for him to stay. He owes us little for the great memories he’s given usover years of loyalty. If he goes or gets fired he may well think he deserves it. But the over the top comments I’m surprised at. He deserves some support and I for one will get behind him if he stays on. He deserves that chance and support if board decides that. If he doesn’t I get behind the new guy but everyone needs to stop with the negative and frankly uneducated comments. I’m sure there will be many changes but if Archie stays and makes them let’s get behind the team and club to give us best shot to give us a shot in getting backs next season. I like the board isn’t make jerk decisions. For me that’s maturity and good leadership. Happy if you disagree and throw abuse my way but I own and run a business with many employees and think Thistles board and Chairman are doing things the right way.

  29. We seem to have upset the Sevco hoard so much they are now dreaming up make believe scenarios where Slippy G is running Scottish football with his tie. I'd say the stupid c**t has one of those ties with an elastic band. Absolutely fucking delicious

  32. Very tempting. TRS is coming home. On another note, why do I keep seeing the phrase 'Hated, adored, but never ignored' on the St. Johnstone Banter FB page? We are not The Rangers. Nobody hates us, really. And we are almost universally ignored.

  33. I agree, yes. It's all relative though. Murray was offering up contracts of £150-200 to part time players and having them compete against full time players earning 3 times that amount. I don't see why he couldn't build a similarly well organised side at a lower level. Agree though that it looks like the Rovers budget wouldn't stretch near Murray. Hope it works out for you boys.

  34. In honour of Ibrox loyal I've made up my own story. It's the Scottish Cup final and Steven Gerrards Rangers are facing Hibs. It's the climax of an amazing season which has seen Rangers fall just short of the title by 15 points. The cup final begins at a frantic pace which is surprising given Rangers run to the Europe League 2nd qualifying round when they suffered a narrow loss to Admira Wacker Módling of Austria. The opening goal comes though through the usual double act for Rangers - Djimi Traore with a dinked ball over the top to Fernando Torres to slot home. Hibs though would bounce back with former Ger Darren McGregor bulleting home a header from a Anthony Stokes corner. Stokes of course just signing for Hibs the day before the final as an amateur purely to wind up the oppostion. The scores weren't level for long though when Jay Spearing fired home a screamer from 25 yards to put Rangers back ahead. However disaster soon followed. A penalty given against Martin Skrtl despite the best tie moving efforts of Steven Gerrard saw Kamberi equalise before Scott Allan scored a last minute free kick which Brad Jones fumbled over the line. The match finished 3-2 to Hibs and Gerrard must wait to win his first trophy as a manager. The match ended with 20000 Hibs fans on the pitch all doing an aeroplane celebration across the Hampden turf towards the Rangers fans.

  35. Yes, and then he had us flirting with relegation a couple of times then eventually relagated us. He isn't a new manager anymore and has been around long enough now to ken the score. Comparing the every day persons job to that of the business of football is silly but for the sake of the discussion let's go with it. If I repeatedly made the same mistakes year on year which then eventually led to my work going on fire I'd be sacked. A disgrace? Wind your neck and and don't be such a happy clapper. Most on here have been pretty objective and fair in their comments. Again happy clapper nonsense. We've just been relegated after a meek display so sorry if everyone isn't all "Yaaay get behind the team guys!". Please do quote the "uneducated comments" though.

  37. I know a little- eileanach relatives - but I've never felt the need to properly learn it, as I reckon its use would be pretty minimal living in the Lowlands as I do. I'm all for preserving it in its traditional heartland, but it seems a wee bit daft to make the likes of train station signs bilingual in areas that have never been Gaelic-speaking...our local one had the wrong Gaelic translation up for about a year before anyone bothered to complain. It 's interesting that the translation of Kilwinning also happens to be the mindset of some of the locals:

  46. The East/West split should be along Junior lines, they have that part right. The EoS themselves state they cater for Lothians and Stirlingshire so that should be the western boundary. Just needs formalised.
