  1. I'm all for you boys making some noise and it was a very welcome atmosphere today, but you can't start this "players taunted us" stuff. The lads were dishing out abuse to every Alloa player that came within 20 yards of them, you've got to expect it back when they score. We will be fined for failing to control our crowd now due to things being thrown on the pitch. Be loud and supportive but you absolutely cannot be throwing things at players. It's a headache the club does not need right now.

  2. I have no relation to any of the players. I'm very passionate about my team, which is why I read & participate in all the forums and have done so since the first of them, One F, went online around 14 years ago. It doesn't take much browsing to identify folk that have an agenda. Normally it's relatives of the players, which admittedly you could still be. Some are fairly subtle but the majority are as clumsy as a bull in a china shop. You're obviously one of them. Someone who's rarely posted about our club and then jumps in with strong opinions about a single topic stand out a mile. Fans aren't stupid you know. They're quite capable of working out what they think of players and if someone with an agenda tries to manipulate that, they quickly get found out and are ridiculed. As some of the replies to your previous comments demonstrate. Mind you, if you're a fifer troll, as is also possible, then I suppose your clumsiness would be easily understandable.

  3. Maybe some of those criticising County for being unsustainable would like to explain what that means. It’s sustained us through six seasons in the top league. It’s sustained us to a Scottish cup final and a League cup. In the meantime we’ve developed the stadium from. Highland league stadium to an all-seated stadium. The stadium has facilities for hospitality on match days , we have a supporters bar in the ground. The stadium has function rooms used by local businesses and others outside matchdays. The bar functions as a restaurant outside match-days. We have training facilities on site both indoors and outdoors, state of the art gyms envied by many top Scottish teams. Yes, it’s been done with the financial clout of McGregor but not just him. Is this sustainable? If Roy pulls out tomorrow we will still have the facilities. Will we struggle to get back to the top level? Probably, but we’ll continue as a local side for much of the Highlands north of Inverness. Of course Roy might stay and continue the plan to develop the facilities, attract better income streams from non-football sources and continue to develop football in the North of Scotland. I think that will sustain professional football in Dingwall for the foreseeable future and that’s sustainable enough for me. Of course if anyone wants to spout unsubstantiated claims about wages and the amount of money actually puts into his local team feel free.

  4. 83 days until the new season starts, the same time workers in Scotland have to work each year just to pay off the interest on their debts.

  5. AW FFS.... Why did the players have to utterly shit the bed so we have to put up with this shite for another season...

  6. I'm trying not to get too angry here, but I need to let this out. This season we've played not to score far, far too many times. I've lost count of the amount of posts I've put on here saying 'it felt like we were playing for a 1-0 defeat'. That's bad enough against St Mirren, Falkirk, Livingston or whoever, but there are two things that have me seriously doubt Stevie's managerial ability. The first was the Cup final. A one off occasion, a great opportunity for the players to make themselves heroes. Instead we play the most timid, gutless football possible, barely lay a glove on Inverness and lose in 'heartbreaking circumstances'. We deserved to lose. Lets not kid ourselves. The second was today. After a pretty lively first 20 minutes we became more and more negative, and it felt as if the subs were designed to make us weaker. Calum Gallagher does a job up top. It might not be pretty, but he can be effective. So we move him wide (where he can't play) and then hook him, when Nisbet has done absolutely nothing. Then comes sub two. Andy Stirling off, Liam Burt on. Stirling's a creator, a hardworker and a guy who actually has the ability to put his foot on the ball. I like Burt a lot, but not a chance I'd have hooked Stirling for him. Then it's time for the pièce de résistance, as Grant Gallagher (a guy who is not up to Championship football) is brought on for Tom Walsh. I thought Walsh looked livelier today when we played him through the middle than he has done since about November. Who'd have thought that? Oh, aye, all of us... Considering it was late in the game, with things balanced delicately, I thought it was a huge risk at the time, that left us looking at extra-time with three (THREE) defensive midfielders. Boof, Alloa equalise, and we're left with a ragtag bunch of mismatched players scattered across the pitch. From that moment onwards we were down. I gave us no chance in extra-time, and as soon as Kirkpatrick rifled in the second I knew we were absolutely finished. We looked hilarious trying to attack the game, genuinely we didn't have a clue. It was hoofs to Mark Stewart, or crosses out of play. There was no cohesive gameplan. Don't get me started on the bringing every single body back at corners patter either. How do we actually expect to get out? We've done it all season, and it drives me crazy. We haven't scored in 13 home games this season (according to my quick maths). That is absolutely embarrassing. Right now I would probably be pleased if Stevie walks, but that's my emotion talking. Whether he stays or goes we need a manager who is prepared to build a team capable of doing something going forward, on next season will be just like this. I'm off for a strong Ribena.

  8. Hard lines lads. If it’s any consolation I’ve just worked out that you’ve managed to oversee the relegation of at least 7 other sides with vastly superior resources to yourselves over the last 6 seasons. Quite impressive.

  10. Thought I’d give a perspective from someone who follows a team in England - Morecambe - that has traditionally been non league but then got involved in the Pyramid. Morecambe is a town of about 30,000 people and the average gate tends to be in the 1000-2000 range. The 1974 FA Trophy win is definitely the biggest triumph in our history. It was before I was born but my dad, uncles, aunts, cousins who went to Wembley that day all remember it and treasure that trophy. Equally however other highlights from our non league days include FA Cup runs with three third round proper appearances over the years being particular highlights. In 2007 we came 3rd in the Conference and won promotion to the Football League after a playoff win at Wembley (giving us a 100% win record at Wembley!) We’re punching above our weight somewhat in League 2 and avoided relegation by the skin of our teeth this year. Suspect we’ll be back in the Conference at some point before too long. So what are the lessons for the Juniors? Pollok who I follow owing to living on the southside, are a club that reminds me a lot of Morecambe. There is a great atmosphere whenever I’m at a game and I enjoy Junior football. However I can’t see any reason why I would enjoy it less if Pollok were in a pyramid. The Junior Cup is a trophy with history, that everyone wants to win and I think the nationwide entry is an important part of that. Whatever else happens to the grade I think it is essential that the Junior Cup survives and ideally expands to take on other Tier 5 and below sides. When Junior clubs were admitted to the Big Scottish it was a missed opportunity for the SJFA not to invite representatives from the leagues to enter but that’s past now. The important thing is not to lose the cup as the grade loses members. I’d hope a nationwide non league cup is on the PWG agenda and that the history of the Junior Cup means it is the chosen means of delivering that nationwide cup. In terms of the Pyramid there are good and bad things about going up a level. Morecambe are now very much the smallest fish in the Football League pond and we are highly unlikely to ever win the EFL trophy for League 1/2 members, it also doesn’t have the history or romance of the FA Trophy. But one day we are likely to drop back down to the Conference and while I’ll be sad we don’t see as many big name games, there’ll be a run at another FA Trophy win on the cards. The pyramid in England has enabled us to join the Football League when we had some good times and strong teams but will also give us a place in non league and an exciting cup to try and win when we inevitably struggle in future. I want Pollok to win more Junior Cups but I also want to see them do well in the Big Scottish and draw Premiership teams and I’d be excited to see how they got on in the Lowland League and League Two, even if that only lasted a few years and then they dropped back down a level later. I just can’t see how merely being in a League that is part of the Pyramid system could affect my enjoyment of Pollok games in any way?

  13. Hopefully there aren't too many losses up at the Global Energy Stadium. Every staff member I have encountered couldn't have made us felt any more welcome, especially in the aftermath of the 4-0. People forget that outwith the 11 diddies on the pitch, there are genuine, hard working people at the club who have to exchange pleasantries with opponents on a frequent basis, especially after a defeat. It's tough at the bottom but when we headed up in April for our "crunch" game, the PTFC media team received the best, if slightly underprepared, welcome but I hope every one of those people keeps their job.

  14. Doon we get. Shitebag tactics from a shitebag gaffer in charge of a shitebag squad was only ever going to end one way tbh. As for those wee bawbags we are bending over backwards to accommodate with singing sections and what not. Away ye go. Absolute wee bams embarassing the club with their antics.

  15. A comedy exit in Europe at the earliest opportunity, to the weakest opposition imaginable. A failure to reach either domestic Cup Final. A 3rd place league finish. Given the resources involved, a hilarious picture of staggering underachievement. What a season. Let's all laugh.

  16. When Dundee were plummeting down, United were consistently in the top half of the league, qualifying for Europe, getting to semi finals and finals and winning the Scottish Cup. Dundee have finished 10th and 9th and have finished no higher than 5th (once) since the early 60s. I suppose it's all relative. As I've said before, they'd be delighted to finish 9th in League Two, as long as United were 10th. It is all they care about. Until their club achieves something of its own, they will always be the Fun.

  18. What a load of bollocks. County’s owner has been nothing but great for them. If McGregor wants to pump about a million a year into them so be it. I’m sure we’d all like someone like him at our own clubs. Nothing like kicking someone in the balls when they are down aye. I can understand ICT fans but a wee Perth Sainteeeee FFS. Hopefully yourselves or ICT get up next season, not at my club’s expense tho. I think it’s good for the game and prefer to see top level football spread throughout the country rather than the 40 odd miles between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

  19. Our last home game before we won the cup in '91? A 3-0 win with a striker getting a double and a defender getting the other. The last time a team went for the double-treble, they lost the cup final to a team who finished the league season in mid-table, managed by a guy in his first full season in charge. You may as well pick your spot for the victory parade on Sunday lads. Our name is on the cup. #omens

  20. From what I’ve seen Kelty have shown class both on and off the pitch. They’ve never complained about joining a league which they’ve proven to be too good for or playing teams they’re a good bit stronger than and haven’t insulted or put these teams down. Having left the Juniors there were a few insults thrown their way but they’ve never bad mouthed their old grade. Well done to Kelty for the brave step they took and how they’ve conducted themselves, I’m sure EK and Spartans will be looking over their shoulder next season.

  25. What do you mean by "in limbo"? That they can't get promoted? A bit strange being concerned about that since teams in the top junior league can't get promoted either... They'll be playing in a competitive league against teams in their region (same as now) with the chance to move up to the League above (unlike now). They'll be in various cups (same as now) but not the Junior Cup (unlike now) unless of course if becomes an all-in non-league cup like the FA Trophy. Where to start? Even when Kelty were in the Fife Leagues they had more than 30 at their games. Obviously they got more v Hill of Beath or when the Pars weren't playing. Since becoming a bit of a force in the Juniors their crowds have been decent IMO. They do have a lot of sponsors - many local firms sponsor players, advertising boards, the bus etc, as seen by their trophy tour to local businesses on their social media channels - and one big sponsor who put a lot of money in but also are able to provide jobs/training to players which is a big advantage. They have also had good managers in recent years. Fife Council own the pitch and so installed the astroturf and it's a community use facility. The club themselves put up the terracing, social club etc and have secured funding for the new stand and disabled facilities. Fife Council don't own the pitch - or anything else - at Cowdenbeath's ground so I'm not sure why you think they should help. The football club don't even won the ground, so you seem to want Fife Council to be helping a privately owned Motorsport company with no community use aspect to them at all.

  28. Yeah but one of you threw a drumstick at Alloa players heads. Guys like Moonster, Snudge & BBPF did what you did a generation before you, get behind the club, making noise, bringing flags, being boisterous, but they never got into fights & they never threw things at players. I’d be surprised if you get in with drums again and you have no right to be hard done by, you took it way way too far (nothing personal against you of course, you’ve been let down badly by your pals)

  29. Echo all the comments about the tits lobbing stuff onto the park, get that to f**k. Easy to see based on their twitters they are all rangers and Celtic fans wanting to create a green brigade/union bears type thing. Two of them standing down at the railings blocking views and ignoring the female steward who was telling them to move on. Shat it when the male steward came over, wee tough nuts. I’m willing to bet a lot that they couldn’t name half of our team ????

  30. Having to fundraise 30k in one effort suggests not only are the club chucking too much money on players, they have done so for so long they are having to make up for decades of neglect. Of course if you are in a league where everyone is striving to improve off-field you are far less worried about losing competitiveness when spending on facilities, junior clubs are now feeling to affects of their failure to introduce any form of meaningful ground regulation after accepting clubs as members, it's nuts that super league clubs with 6 figure playing budgets are being held to the same standard as amateur clubs. As for his 'wouldn't change the memories for anything' I have no idea how he can think like that. I'd suggest he's not talked many fans of clubs who have gone close to/have gone bust, it's a fucking hellish time and the small benefits of overspending are nowhere near enough to make up for it. It's utterly bonkers thinking and to suggest it's ok would certainly see a 'bringing the game into disrepute' charge against you and your clubs financials gone over rigorously if the SFA were serious about financial responsibility.

Dimps' peccadillo was way down the offensive scale when compared with some of the dross that appears on this and other forums on a regular basis,so,rather than languishing in a home for the terminally embarrassed (definitely not the Towers ) he should be back here regaling the troops with his ready wit and Talbot Tales. This forum needs a strong and reasonably sober Dimps, so get yerself back online, big chap.

  37. You’re a bellend. What McGregor’s built up in Dingwall for County is very, very good and has not only benefited County but I’d imagine the development of the game up in the Highlands. Only a bellend couldn’t see it.

  38. So we have a shareholder, of over 30 years, who invests his own money, get over it. It's not like MacGregor is borrowing money from the bank that we'll not repay, or taking money of cash strapped local councils, again never to repay? We also have other shareholders who invest into the club too, most expect minimal if any return. What kind of fool expects to make money out of their local football team?

  39. Totally agree, the SJFA should remain for those clubs who for whatever reason want to remain loyal to the grade. They cannot exist within the Pyramid.

  41. Sheep - you'd be better asking what the benefits are of Bo'ness staying. Remember the juniors are supposed to be negotiating to enter the pyramid the season after next anyway. It is going to be very difficult to deliver that in the east. If you are worried about the cost to your team of going now, how much more will it cost of you end up in tier 8? How much more will it cost to stay where you are and not go at all - perhaps whilst others move over anyway? How does not going at all impact the contribution of Bo'ness Utd to the new set up at NP when they can't get their licence? The option is to try and get into a WoS league. Will that be feasible? You'd be passing a team like Camelon or Dunipace from further west as they travel east. There may be some rationalisation but there are already 64 teams through there. For me the question has shifted from what's the cost of going to what's the cost of staying. Obviously for me that question shifted ages ago as I'm a passionate advocate of the pyramid for all its imperfections. The best way to influence is from within. And I understand the value supporters of junior football place on its structure and history. But I don't want my club stranded for either of these things.

Foaming at the mouth **** in the stand because Morelos has just missed from 4 yards and Doogie Imrie has scored right after to put Hamilton 1-0 up. That’ll be quality viewing.
