  2. People in town/city centres here in Scotland having anti Trump protests/rallies, what a bunch of losers, he won fair and square. It's absolutely f**k all to do with anyone here it was Americas decision and the main thing, nobody cares. This is the kind of shite social media is bad for, it's created these reactions. A wee gathering with a load of people trying to show how much they care and outraged they are, few photos and uploaded to social media. That's really what it's all about. These people not got anything better to be doing ffs.

  5. I was at the playpark earlier with my daughter and was pushing her on the swings when a boy of a similar age came over to the next swing with his mother. The Mum was about early 40s and probably semi decent in her day. Anyway, the wee boy kept shouting to be pushed higher which the Mum duly did. My wee one asked to do the same but I said no as he was going pretty high. The mum then said to me, its because he's a little wild before catching my eye and saying "Just like his Mum" they then stopped and left. I don't know if she was making a joke or if she's not the Mum or maybe if I've been reading the MILF thread for too long. All I know is I'm going back the same time next week.

  9. Remarkable that he played over 40 first team games for Queens under a couple of different managers without ever remotely resembling a footballer. Naysmith appears to be clear-sighted and decisive, bordering on ruthless. Just what was needed.

  15. There has to be an over reaching future strategy (ie developing youth players and keeping to a sensible budget) but that has to be balanced against finishing as high up the league as possible in any given season because if we are relegated then that future plan is suddenly in serious danger. So there is absolutely nothing wrong with bringing in loan players as long as they improve the squad and don't hamper the development of youth players. In case people have forgotten we are a club who is going to have to battle very very hard to stay in the top division, this season and probably even more so in the foreseeable future, and if we can bring in a bit of extra quality for 6 months going into the business end of the season then I don't see where the problem is.

  17. Are we not all singing from the same hymn sheet. I am sure we all think that we have a great bunch of guys with a great team spirit. We are not thinking that we can afford to sign top class players to replac any of the current players, all we are looking for is a squad that is strong enough to cope with injuries and suspensions in the run in to assure us a place in League 1 next season. Obviously if there are a couple of players in the manager's radar it would be unreasonable to expect names but to kno that there are one or two enquirers going on would I am sure give supporters a little boost.

  18. I think that's part of the problem with MacLean and it isn't his fault. He's just the sort of player who needs a particular type of partner to play alongside him and if he doesn't have that, we're insipid up front. And I can't stand it when he plays up front on his own. It also restricts options: with MacLean a guaranteed pick, we've never seen Cummins and Kane together for any length of time. I'm not saying they're better than Macca but I do wonder how they'd gel if they were both in form and got some experience together. For all the sentimental appeal attached to one of them, I hope we don't go near May or O'Halloran. It's clear both these players will cost a lot of money, and while that might be worth it if we were chasing a Europa League place or battling relegation, they way we are I'd rather we skipped the short-term solution and looked at players who might be here next season.

  26. Oh I forgot to say yesterday that I went into what was the last good bookshop in Glasgow, Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street, and the place had been gutted and everything re-arranged. Ground floor - all cook books and dull autobiographies by twats. First floor - tat, childish bullshit and toys. Second floor - Coffee shop. After climbing to the rafters I was able to find a couple of books in a dusty, faraway corner although they literally don't have a till on that floor though which kind of tells you something. If everyone cut the top of their skull off like a tea pot lid and intermittently jabbed a fork in there I don't think society would be any dumber than it is now. You have all the greatest works of literature in history and what do you go to the book shop for? A latte, a Batman signal projector and a Waboba moon ball.

  29. From what I've seen of Ajer he'll do a decent job for Killie. Personally, I'd have him down as a defensive midfielder than a centre half. Versatile and a good play builder. Good move for both clubs I reckon.

  30. Seeing Ravanelli score a hat trick at Broadwood is one of the most surreal things I have seen in football. Like Duff Man I grew up watching Football Italia and can remember him ripping Rangers to shred back when the Champions League was knew, exciting and unmissable telly. My memory might be playing up but I'm sure he scored all 3 goals in the space of ten mins or so and it was the "perfect hat trick" left foot, right foot, header. The other one that glaringly sticks out is playing Man Utd's entire first team in a pre-season friendly. It was the seasons we hosted the trials under Roberts and I went to the game not knowing a single Clyde player. I can remember over hearing a few Clyde fans saying the Man Utd line up included Ferdinand, Scholes, Van Nistelrooy and Giggs on the way down to the ground and telling them no to be daft. Turned out the only first team player missing was Ronaldo. The same season we humped Celtic in the cup.

  33. Ewan; Rangers died and the current incarnation is a new club. You and the rest of the bigoted Rangers fans let the old club die. Hopefully you all let the nee club you now follow die as well. Get it right up you. Everyone despises Sevco and it hurts you lot every single day. You care very much, which makes it all the more delicious. Sevco and their fans are an utter cancer on Scottish football and Scottish society (same applies to Celtic and their fans). We don't need Sevco and we don't want Sevco.

  39. In that case, the BHL is sorted with congratulations to the boss, champion @Cardinal Richelieu taking the title. @die hard doonhamer goes up automatically, finishing a point behind Cardinal, and 1 ahead of @Eednud who goes into the playoff against opposition TBD. In the top league (what's it even called??) @jagfox99 's relegation won't come as a surprise to him, scoring 20/50 through the week. Realistically could be any one of six also going down, with another one in the playoff. Isn't this exciting

  41. Is Sturgeon the first leader of a parliament to be criticized about her pay. Not just criticized but actively used as a stick to beat her with like she somehow can't stick up for normal people as she's on 150k. Lot of shite, she's in the highest position in our national parliament. She would probably get paid more in the private sector using her fucking degree. As for employment statistics, you take London out the equation then Scotland pisses all over England on everything. GDP per capita for England is like 24K? For London it's 40K, it's quite simply in a league of its own when it comes to economic output and job creation, not just in the UK but across the whole of Europe. London skews the figures and makes England look better than it actually is. The funny thing is it probably has a lot to do with Scotland and the rest of England subsidizing London infrastructure for decades and all the politicians being primarily focused on policies that suit the city. Idiots like Ayrexile using employment figures with a miniscule difference of 0.4% as a way of saying the scottish government are doing a bad a job are quite frankly morons. I'm pretty sure that unemployment in Scotland is at it's lowest rate ever and that's with the SNP running the ship through a financial crash and successive budget cuts. NHS waiting times for people being seen within 4 hours is at 93%, it was like 80% when Labour ran it during the BOOM years but Labour continue to spout that 90,000 weren't seen within the time, well 90,000 sounds a lot worse than 93% were seen within the time right ? And idiots like Ayrexile lap it right up. Granted the education system needs work but the government has admitted this and are trying to make it better. At least they've acknowledged it. I can still rember before the SNP took power that the Labour government couldn't even build a fucking overpass without being vastly over budget and time. The SNP government seem to be quite good at capital projects. I'll compare this current administration to the previous one... not Westminster.... and quite frankly it pisses all over it with LESS resources.

  42. Same reason clubs pack their home fans into one stand and give the rest over when Celtic and The Rangers come to town. It's decent marketing in one sense, a nice easy trip to Kirkcaldy, watch your club effortlessly steamroller mein gracious hosts, and then come along and get a chinwag with a genuine club legend and Gary Locke. The fact that it undercuts what little dignity we've scrounged together over the years as a club is neither here, nor there.

  43. What we need to do is bring the crowds back to help boost our income. I think to do that we should sign old memorable dees for free and stick them on the pitch for the last 10mins every home game for the rest of the season. Imagine seeing Tommy Coyne and Keith Wright together again on the Dens surface. Or chic charnley sent off for a knee high challenge on Scott Brown. I'd certainly pay handsomely for that. And it should be a surprise too. Special guest appearances to keep the mystery and anticipation to a maximum. Nelmsy, if you're reading this... make it so.

  47. McDermid told us that if we wanted the manager to remain open and honest, then nothing from the Black & Gold evening should appear on social media - as this is where the weegia get their stories from these days. However, P&B is a step up from social media and I don't believe he said anything too controversial - so some stuff gathered. Worth getting B&G for this event. He feels the criticism that came the team's way following Hampden, Ibrox and Dingwall was OTT. Admits Hampden was a flop and too many players froze. Mentioned Sir Alex called him and said it's even happened to Scholes et al in his time. Stated an inexplicable lack of energy - no fouls/bookings, even guys like Hayes having a mare. McGinn's performance and stats they measure suggested he was very jaded around that time, hence why he was left on bench for Hampden and some other games around that time. Rooney was ineffective in final - Stockley played at Ibrox due to good performances in previous too matches - Partick, Inverness Feels we were the most positive away team at Ibrox this season - did this due to cup final criticism, and feels we may have been better served $hitfesting it and countering, as we got a normally morose Sevconian home support up for it by opening up the game Mentioned Sevco have six times our playing budget - but accepts the challenge of being compared with the Glasgow clubs and mentions the media need us to be either doing very well or very badly. Seems confident we should finish second this season. O'Connor is available if we need a midfield enforcer - but prefers the zip, energy and passing of the current three - Jack, Shinnie, McLean Thinks Shinnie is a much better player than a left back, even though that is why we signed him, and the player himself is loving centre mid Miles Storey still has a chance, but has struggled with the move so far and doesn't suit the team's style as most teams sit deep against us - but would have liked to use him more a sub (e.g. later in games if we are ahead) Craig Storie has been a disappointment of late with a poor attitude in training - still has a chance, but St Mirren loan will make or break him. Some kind of problem with Cammy Smith at Tannadice. Most impressive of all the loaned out players is Harvie at Dumbarton - they chose that club as they knew he'd be defending a lot in a PT team in a mainly FT league - and reports have been excellent Does not feel U20 league is of value as players same guys they did at U11, U12 etc.......feels being loaned out and playing against men is only way to judge them. Would like to be able to introduce some, but asks who they would replace? Thinks youth football is too middle class - no characters or leaders emerging and full of lads being dropped off by mummy and daddy in their 4x4s Will likely add a player next week who will provide more goal threat. Says there's "only so many ways Cardiff can dress up a $hit offer", but conscious he'll do right by club and player, but really doesn't want to lose Hayes Admitted last January transfer window was a disaster - Ward exit not anticipated, Jack injury meant they targeted Tansey, when originally they wanted to strengthen elsewhere. Then Rooney's injury meant the team fell away badly - feels they may not have won the league otherwise, but could have taken it to the last couple of matches. Mentioned being very happy that squad now has so many players of value, as when he came in, McGinn was the only one worth anything Still moaning about the training facilities - stated Kingsford not happening would be unthinkable Says he'll come to natural end at club at some point, but didn't envisage it being soon - although all players and management can get their head turned. Feels AFC starting to look less ambitious would be the end of it - but that Milne and Yule have been nothing but supportive in what he wants to do. Did the prize draw using a tombola at the end - and mentioned that he used it to pick the cup final team.
