  5. Helped save an old, fat American guys life at the concession stand at Aladdin yesterday lunch time. Face planted in the queue and stopped breathing, so helped turn him on his back, did chest compressions while a nurse opened up his airway, and then helped put him in the recovery position when we got him breathing again. Was still unconscious when the ambulance came and paramedics took him away, but was breathing at least. Pretty mental and surreal. Only wanted some M&M's and a couple of cokes.

(Good luck lads, will be interesting if he comes up against the same sort of opposition in the dressing room, but Scottish football needs dragged into the 21st century)

  24. Just been to Jimmy's Corner in Times Square for a beer. Couldn't stop smiling the entire time I was in there, just a total shrine to boxing. Could have spent hours just looking at the photos and reading the articles on the wall. Don't think Jimmy Glenn goes in anymore as he's a bit old, but would have loved to have heard some of his stories. Definitely need to get back here for a fight at MSG and go and spend some more time there. Cheap as fucking chips as well

  29. Okay. As I'm not much of an active member on the board these days, I'm quite careful to not get drawn into tit-for-tat. Actually, I've not done an MS Paint drawing in almost two years. This subject, however, has annoyed me and I think it's worth covering. It's all been said in this thread, so I'll get straight down to business and let the drawing do the talking. I call this one 'Caught Brown-Handed'. As we all know, Bobby Skidmarks is a pretty prominent member of our fine community. What many of you don't know, however, is that Bobby is a sex worker. The cold, hard streets of Polwarth are a difficult place to ply his trade. Inflation is rising, demand is shrinking and the area has changed. Times are tough; especially when there are people out to get you. With Red Dots. Luckily, Bobby's pimp, Raul, is an understanding c**t that doesn't give the faintest glimmer of a f**k regarding complaints. Unless, that is, it gets in the way of Bobby selling his Fanny Posters — 'Posters of Famous Fannies'. Regardless, the unfortunate set of circumstances that tried to fling Oor Boab off his sales target, also flung a few spanners in the works. Spanners that were scented, shaped and flavoured like shit. Human shit. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this and that it reminds you to play nice. Thank you.

  34. Howard Dean has pulled out of the running to head the Democrat National Committee leaving Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, as the leading candidate. Here's an excerpt from a column he wrote in his college newspaper during law school. Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2016/11/26/keith-ellison-once-proposed-making-a-separate-country-for-blacks/#ixzz4RlUxpROv He also claimed when running for Congress that he was not aware of the Nation of Islam's anti-semitism while he was involved with the organization. This has been proven false based on several newspaper columns he wrote under pseudonyms which defended specific NOI leaders against charges of anti-semitism.

  35. Not an accident. Trump was meeting with ex-UN ambassador John Bolton earlier in the day. Bolton and others have long advocated introducing the Taiwan situation to pressure China. Chinese people are extreme ethnonationalists and very p***kly on these types of issues. And I doubt there's any way Taiwan would risk pissing off the new President by calling him when he didn't know about the protocol and making him look stupid. When are you guys going to acknowledge that Trump might have a strategy or two that works? I knew right away what he was doing during the campaign when he mentioned letting South Korea and Japan have nukes. He wasn't going to win or lose one vote based on that statement. He was setting the stage for his relationship with China in the event that he won. Same with mentioning defaulting on the debt. China is going to come to the table across from a US President who's mentioned nukes for their two greatest enemies and has made moves towards permanently breaking up their country. Trump has made it a point over and over again to say that China engaged in the greatest theft in human history. He knows how you deal with the Chinese. You have to be firm with them and you can't let them take an inch. Also, forget about fairness. That's not part of their vocabulary. The dude took down the Bush and Clinton political dynasties that were backed with hundreds of millions of dollars, and he did it on the cheap. He took down what was widely acknowledged as the deepest Republican primary field in history. He did it all while the media, his own party, and the richest people in America were against him. And he did it with a strategy that very few people saw as open. Appeal to midwestern, White, Union Democrats and appeal to ethnic minorities as "Americans" with "American" interests, rather than just becoming Democrat-lite and pandering to ethnic minority interests.

  39. One of the main attractions of Trump was/is that many Americans believe he says what he thinks and says what they think. The biggest 'post truth' has been the climate of the last twenty years where ever encroaching political correctness and authoritarian silencing of any personal opinion outside the norm - has presented a completely false idea of what people think And how they speak.

  40. Facts have always been ignored if they don't fit the narrative, or massaged to make them look better, or misrepresented. We had a Labour government in this country (both UK and Scotland) who specialised in it, Bill Clinton and George Bush were extraordinary in their lies to the American people, etc. The reason we are now seeing "expert opinion" roundly ignored is as a result of that. These things go in cycles for a while, and people are fed up of expert opinion telling them what to think / do - and that's all over the Western world. Scottish independence supporters do not believe a thing from the UK government or the UK media, regardless of how it's backed up. That isn't as a result of ignorance or a "post-truth" agenda, it's because they quite rightly see through the aims and agendas of those who are bringing the message to them. The same thing is happening the world over, just manifesting itself differently in other areas - Brexit, Trump, Le Pen. The only people to blame are the so-called "Liberals" or "elites" who have caused the situation with their own lies and policies. Alternative news media is set up (Breitbart, The National, etc) or an existing major outlet is used (Fox, The Daily Mail) and the people who question the "mainstream" opinion now have their views backed up by someone who is also lying or has an agenda to push, but this time the information reinforces their pre-conceived notions. It's a chicken and egg scenario, caused solely by the people who have been in power in politics, the media, big business (e.g. "the elite") for the past 20 years. The cycle is up and as is usually the case with political ideals failing, it's entirely their own fault. The mass media reacting to the fact they elected a man they hate with their biased and hysterical coverage of him, by issuing biased and hysterical coverage of him. Clever move.
