For those Dees who might be interested, the latest Pelé Podcast is an interview with Colin McMenamin. There is a fair bit about his time with Dundee, which on the whole he seems to have really enjoyed. There's a special mention for Messrs Melville and Brannan too. https://t.co/DbkngNxuhd4 points

Alright troops, I've recorded a podcast with well-travelled striker Colin McMenamin - CLICK. We spoke for well over two hours so I've had to divide it in two. The first part deals with Stenhousemuir's current season before he looks back at his teenage years and his move to Newcastle. He talks about three-and-a-half years at Livingston and then gives us the real money - Gretna and Dundee. Part two will be released tomorrow. They're both pretty excellent, plenty of great stuff in here. All thoughts and feedback welcome. Follow Tell Him He's Pelé on Twitter and like them on Facebook.3 points

Nothing against the hibees, but if the choice is a soppy fucking ballad vs a vigorously chanted GIRFUY, I'm choosing the latter every time.2 points

I'm sure most posters will be unperturbed by this as they think Waghorn is shite. Plus we have other penalty takers.2 points

You simply don't know that. If one penalty was given, you don't know if you'd even have had another decision, or if ICT would go and score three goals. So stop with pish like this. Especially when most Aberdeen supporters seem to be admitting that you were pretty poor on the night.2 points

Dare I say it - the outcry from Aberdeen over Collums performance - McInnes publicly criticising, captain criticising, prominent Aberdeen supporting pundits harping on about it, petition signing and a full day of local radio talking about said decisions and the petition. Very, very OF-esque.2 points

Dear throbber,Thank you for your recent application. The standard of candidate was extremely high and on this occasion you have been unsuccessful. The deciding factor was the practical test in which the two other candidates were more successful than you in moving the couch. Please do not make any further contact. Thank you for your interest. Just as long as the penalty isn't taken by the person who won it. I doubt Scottish refs are that good at spot kicks.1 point

The point that's being made is that they were all injured early doors after Houston signed them. Including Miller.1 point

Of course Aberdeen getting pumped by Caley Jags is extremely amusing and has absolutely nothing to do with 'protecting the duopoly'. What's amusing is to see the Aberdeen fans going tonto on the match thread and, rather strangely, a few Applepines in a rage about something there too. They just got handed the Premiership title but are still arguing and fighting. Then there's the Jambos clearly unhappy about getting papped oot by Hibs and questions being asked about Neilson's future. Then on our match thread The Killie fans aren't taking things well and have roped in an angry mob of assorted diddies with pitchforks and flaming torches while the Dee boys are acting the billy big baws about ripping us a new one and they haven't even got to the 1/4 final yet. The whole board is awash with anger, bitterness and recriminations while we Bears remain calm, cool and phlegmatic. No wonder we're the people1 point

UK premiere has always been the rule. It's been pretty clear for a while. Seems like a good place to ask this actually. What about something like a Better Call Saul where the initial air time changes week to week and it's on an on demand network? Where's the line drawn there?1 point

Maybe we should use them to absorb the the tears of the away support when the game gets postponed at 7:15pm1 point

Finished it last night. I first watched in 2013 I think but just kept dipping in and out of the first two series as I found they dragged a fair bit. Eventually persisted with the second series and once I hit the third series I was glued to it. I'm not sure I'd put it on a par with The Sopranos but it was brilliant all the same and as has been said several times in his thread, Ozymandias and the last episode of the fourth series are two of the finest episodes of television ever made.1 point

I watched the highlights of the 2-2 Paul McPake derby the other day. I challenge any Dee to watch it and not do a sinister Dr Evil laugh as they go 2 up and start singing "Dundee FC, you'll always be shite", completely unaware of the horror that is about to unfold before their eyes over the following months. Absolutely glorius.1 point

He's a friend of mine, he's decided he'll give me two red dots a day to try and wind me up. I'd hazard a guess that around 80% of my red dots are from him for no reason other than it was me who posted. I can assure you, I'm absolutely raging about it. Pretty sure I'll kill someone soon.1 point

Jordan Kirkpatrick has 7 goals in 68 appearances for us (if his Wiki is up to date - he's played 107 professional games and scored 8 goals). Why do you think he's all of a sudden going to start banging them in? I have more faith in an injured Fleming finding the net than I do a fit Kirky.1 point
-
The proof is he canny get a game ahead of people carrying injuries! Why risk putting Gallagher (one of "Aitkens boys") out for the season if you've got a perfectly fit and fired up central midfielder on the bench? If Kirky was a goal keeper then that comparison would be fine. Jamie Ewings covers about 13 yards every game, it's obviously better if he's fully fit but he can get by without being the epitome of fitness. Kirky doesn't have the luxury of only having a small area to look after, he'll have the responsibility of creating everything that goes through the middle and I just don't think he's up to it right now.1 point

Not just cheats. Proud cheats. Adds an extra layer of scummyness. But if Bob wants to pretend he isn't being laughed at then that's his right as a crazy person. His transparent attempt at a wind up tells a slightly different story though.1 point
-
That's my point, Lindsay is a completely different player (a much more defensive style player) and he offers more in an attacking sense than Kirky has done in over a year. I think he's uninterested because he's unfit and doesn't ever do anything when he gets put on the field. I'm going to take a wild guess here and assume that our manager feels similar. 2 goals against rock bottom Alloa side who we beat 5-0, who didn't even have a manager at the time, is a decent contribution but it remains his only contribution in over a year. Trying something different doesn't mean throw anyone on the pitch and see what happens.1 point
-
Lindsay is 100 times more effecrive than Kirkpatrick has been in over a year (he was posted missing for the majority of last season too) even without Jamie finding the net. Tweaking the team a little I'm all for, pinning our hopes on an unfit, uninterested central midfielder would be the worst thing to do. Bring back Stevie Craig...1 point

Great film and a great result as Clach and Buckie were the real forces in the HL at this point in time. That's Boby Bolt lifting the trophy at the end of the film, joined Caley from Rangers in 1948 and around 2.23, the grandstand shot includes Dan Lowrie who was President of the club in the early 70s, not long after I had started watching the Caley1 point
