  1. In the last three years of footballing mirth from Ibrox way, Sevco have: - Failed to beat the bottom tier title-winning records of both Gretna and East Fife - Failed in three attempts to win the Ramsdens Cup - Been utterly humiliated by Dundee United after a hilarious attempt at building up a rivalry with them. Twice. - Been utterly humiliated on national TV by a god-awful Motherwell twice in last season's play offs - Failed to muster a single meaningful effort on goal in a Cup Semi final against Celtic, your one chance at any sort of glory or relevance. - Lost points in truly comedic fashion to the likes of Stirling, Montrose, Annan, Peterhead, QoS and others. - Watched as a Hearts team with far less resources and a bottleless Hibs side both finished above you in the Championship - Failed to win any cup competitions whatsoever, despite almost certainly having the second biggest budget in Scotland So, please enlighten us. In what fucking universe could your clusterfuck of a football club have even come close to competing with Celtic, had you been in the same Division for even one of those seasons?

  4. Rule No 1 of detecting utter bullshit: go to the author of the source of bullshit: http://www.theguardian.com/profile/lu-hai-liang Well, this guy certainly appears to be a voice of authority on the subject IMO. As noted from his April 2012 regurgitation of largely the same puff-piece blog: May 2014: Riiiiight: anyone else sensing a good reason why our failed journalist and student is desperately peddling yet another, now cheerily optimistic essay on why degree classifications don't really matter? It's a toughie.* *If you got a 2:2 or less.

  5. I'm hoping for at least one signing today, but if it doesn't happen, I still think we'll be ok. I am however, looking forward to a large number of meltdowns on Steelmen Online as random rumour after random rumour gets posted on there. The ball has already started rolling with Ian Black, and i've launched Zaliukas into the mix for good measure as well...

  8. They'd be wasting their time hanging around Palmerston, there will have been nobody there since 5pm I expect. I've been disappointed by the lack of Sky Sports reporters I've needed to dodge all day outside my office though. If anyone's interested I'm now going home after a very long day.

  11. It still makes me laugh that prior to the CVA everyone from the media to Charlie Green told us liquidation is the death of the club. Why else would the papers have the following on the front page? But suddenly, despite months passing since the club went into admit, we hear about holding companies being separate from "clubs" etc... yet it was not mentioned once before the failure of the CVA this was a thing, not once My favorite being the new "club" wasn't disqualified from Europe, the "company" running it had to have at least 3 years of accounts.

  14. I will, i will! It means everything in a football sense, that you cherished, loved and respected is gone. Every fond memory, achievement and moment of triumph is irrevocably tainted. Everything you revere now, consider worthy and respect is based upon a lie, founded on corruption and led by a gutter criminal. The word 'Rangers' and everything associated with it has debased and humiliated itself beyond any possibility of redemption and you should, as i do, feel dirty and ashamed to speak it out loud.

  15. I want the boy from Sandside to get a start on Saturday especially with Lyle out. At his young age , he is obviously raw but the boy has shown great appetite for the game. For a slight build he showed some very good body strength in holding off the challenge before netting on Sunday . He is getting there !

  16. VT always likes to get the last word in. Or the last cliche to be more accurate. Nobody with a scrap of decency would try to excuse abusive behaviour towards a nine year old boy. If it did happen, it is indefensible. If it didn't happen, it's still indefensible.

  17. 1. What suggests to you that a vastly overweight Jamie Ewings will be more equipped to do "something spectacular"? 2. Fair enough, Taggart's been fine and was perhaps harshly dropped but it shows that Barr and Wright are here to play they'll be in the team if they are both fit. 3. See point 2. 4. Scott Brown didn't impress you (over a 78 minute period) and you want Kirky in his place? You'll need to remind me of anything impressive that Kirky has done in the last year and a half. 5. I must have missed the 3 goals we scored against Morton from open play, yet everyone keeps mentioning that we only score from set pieces. I would argue that our defending is more important to get right, we've scored more goals than Hibs & St. Mirren this year and comfortably more than our "rivals" in Morton, Alloa & Livingston (and that's with the toughest opening fixtures of the lot) - how they go in really isn't important. There seems to be a lot of premature dismissal's of some of our squads ability by a few already. Stevie Craig in particular, being dubbed "Chris Duggan" and the likes doesn't really help anything - it's not even true, he's a completely different type of striker to Duggan. We should bear in mind that Stevie Craig hasn't had a full pre-season and aside from a couple of loan boys is the newest member of the squad. I don't think dropping folk immediately after having an average game is the way to go about it either. Yes, we need competition for places and people need to get their chance but with so many new players being put together I think we need some continuity (especially at the back) before we start looking to drastically change personnel. In short, everyone chill the f**k out - we'll be just fine. And FWIW, I think we'll go 4-4-2 on Saturday and I think we'll win.

  18. Standing with your own supporters is hardly the same as standing in front of the away end on your own is it? I'd wager you could not handle this now, never mind as a nine year old. Sorry to hear you were bullied at school tho, very sad ????

  19. Woods was a very good player for us. Really clever midfielder. Possibly the fastest and fittest player last year. The odd error doesn't make him a bad player. Easily better than Rocco imo. I am delighted he is back

  20. That it? A little abuse, and some obfuscation? Disappointed in you, actually. My point, which I'm sure you are choosing to ignore, is not about whether it happened or not. It's about your apparent contention that it's okay for adults to shout abuse at young children at a football match. That, combined with your laughably inane attempt to turn the blame for the boy's tears onto his upbringing, is both pathetic and beyond the pale. Still, at least even you aren't attempting to defend the indefensible. You're in a hole, son. Do us all a favour and stop digging.

  23. Surely when he 'bought' them, the assets did not actually BELONG to Rangers, but were under control of the administrators. And there would be no chance of smoke and mirrors jiggery-pokery by them,eh? The only continuation that is valid after 3 1/2 years is continued grave-dancing, aching sides from laughter and Shull's sodden pantaloons

  25. If this goes to court, some interesting home truths are going to be aired - did he buy the club and its history or did he buy the assets of a company in the process of liquidation? It's pretty certain that The Rangers' status as a new club is going to be discussed in depth and this myth of a club/company divide held up to the light. It'll be there in black-and-white and news sources will be able to report it without fear of legal challenge. I wonder what the various football authorities will say at that point? I can imagine the statement now. 'We grudgingly acknowledge that Rangers folded but we're bending over backwards to recognise some kind of continuity for this new incarnation. Sort of.'

  26. Im assuming if the Viking ever has any offspring, he's going to verbally abuse them from an early age to steel them against getting offended if they ever get shouted at by drunken adults. That can only end well. I expect it'll be part of the school curriculum in no time. This whole incident was definitely not the fault of the adults who (in all likelihood) shouted something unkind at a wee boy. Lord, no. After all they're just "being adults". You know what they say - adults will be adults, the cheeky monkeys. So it must be the parents' fault, clearly. Also, it's perfectly reasonable to expect someone to be videoing every ball boy for 90 minutes. I expect Alloa to make those changes for next time Morton visit, in case we need it for evidence. Yours, Champ

  31. That's about it in a nutshell. I really don't think we're too bad a side but the defending is killing us. Can't really fault the effort they tried their best just up against a team who have recruited well with better resources there's no great shame in that I suppose.

  32. Cawley had a mare on Friday but absolutely no way should he be dropped. I don't get why people think ewings will be any improvement on brown. He has been okay for me, not great, but I'm comparing him directly with danny rogers who was outstanding.

Let's see this shower of scumbags in jail for costing thousands of people millions of pounds and a lot of grief and stress instead of you trying to throw supposition onto it. I see Craig Whyte has been arrested again, great stuff, makes it all the better.
