  6. He was seriously unfit/overweight due to a injury he picked up in India last season. By the end of the season he was scoring goals and looked fitter even before that he was a class above on the pitch his "footballing brain" set him apart from the rest of the players on the pitch. He never made it a secret that he was using us to get fit to go back to India to try get a big bucks deal in the ISL but he also stated that he wanted to come back to us in January once the Indian league finished. Going by his posts on social media he looks a million times fitter than when he joined us in March due to his fitness regime to get a deal out in India which despite flying out for a couple of weeks seems to have come to nothing. Really pleased to have him back onboard for this season and feel confident that a fit Chopra can bring joy to the terraces of the dildodrill.

  8. Chopra is the kind of player big Geoff is needing beside him imo. Someone that can bring that bit of magic and looks to get players involved in a match. A fit Chopra coupled with the youth of Duffy/McManus and Geoff could be great.

  23. Was on loan at Airdrie last season and was a class above against us which isn't really hard, but him and the boy Lindsay from Thistle were outstanding.

  24. I say 'Davo' is shite, that's what I say. Also that I don't see why McKinnon would wait until now to decide that when he had plenty opportunities to sign such a player before now, especially with the amount of CMs that we have. Then there's the question of priorities. Lewis Vaughan is injured long-term, Craig Wighton is only here until December and Megginson & Stewart suffered a disrupted pre-season. Surely that is where our priorities should be. Fucking boo, basically.

  35. His goal at Least End was the stuff that stays with you forever. Supernatural save by The Witch, ball to left back and Damian off like a train before smashing it in at our end. Possibly the finest 30s I've ever seen from the Rovers.

  36. Local term. Milngavie is split into named areas. The Village = Shopping prescient bit. The Scheme - Housing estate opposite the fire station. Mainzy -The posher bit of the estate on the other side of Hunter Road. "You know where Mcdonalds is?" - Where I live The posh bit - The way out towards Mugdock. Full of houses with swimming pools and full of private school types. I know nobody who lives there. Aye, so if you ever visit you can now talk like a local.

  38. Definitely need to bring in a centre back now, maybe even two. Hope Duffy doesn't panic and buy the first one that's available and brings in someone capable of playing at this level. A holding midfielder is also a must. Still got no idea why we're not after Iain Davidson, exactly the type of player we need and he can also cover at CB if needed.

  41. Always amuses me when people automatically assume ex players will be a carbon copy, ability wise, from when they originally played with us. There is that possibility that Davo might, you know, have improved since his time with us over 3 years ago. Just saying.

  43. That rather than playing a patient waiting game for his selected targets to become available as we've been told all summer, Duffy is desperately scrambling for anyone he can find because the season's already started and the squad is nowhere near complete.

  47. Hah, this is the biggest lie I've ever heard. Every player who has ever been released from anywhere has played this disingenuous card. Plenty of rubbish small players have made it in Scotland - look at Jamie McCluskey. In fact, McCluskey broke the SPL youngest ever player record, and his record was broken by Scott Robinson. Neither have ever been over 5 foot 7. Some of the best players from our golden era were midgets. It has never been a barrier, it's a complete myth. Robertson may not have developed and that's why he was released, hardly unusual, Ashley Young was released as a youngster and went on to Man Utd and semi regular English international. The kind of people implying that Messi might not have made it in Scotland because he is so wee are deluding themselves, and doing a disservice to our coaches and entire game. In fact, if anything our national team has plenty of small players (Anya, Maloney) and very few tall, strong players relative to other nations. Which is fine, but completely dispels the myth that we favour the latter attributes over footballing ability.
