The summer is always full of gossip and speculation, I am taking the 'long view', in that I would hope by the start of the season we will have a decent squad. It seems to me we are due cash for Reilly, McShane, Holt and Durnan, plus last year we had our highest average home attendance for years. I'm hoping there is a modest 'war chest' available to Fowler, who will use his experience and connections to attract the necessary decent players. I'm also hoping a few of our young players will break though like Reily and Holt did (and neither of these were overnight successes), what I saw of Hooper and Aidan Smith last year I liked. It will be another tough league. Unless Rangers reappoint McCoist, they will be stronger, and I would make Hibs favourites, they won't have the bad start they had last year and I think Stubbs is a good manager. Falkirk will have the cup run money available to strengthen the squad. Hard to anticipate what St Mirren will be like, I'm guessing 'middle-of-the-table' this year. Raith are similar to us and quite capable of matching us this year, and I expect Livingston to be a lot better this year. Morton will bring more to the championship than Cowdenbeath did. Which leaves Alloa and Dumbarton as the 'strugglers', but both of these teams have shown they can survive in this league and don't buy into the 'sacrificial lambs' narrative. Can't wait for the start of the season!!

Sparky is no great loss in my opinion. When we got promoted to championship Hartley punted him probably recognising that as much he was a solid player he wasn't going to be good enough for the step up. I thought he struggled at times last season and looked out of his depth at that level playing in midfield and it looks like Lennon didn't push the boat out to keep him. Definitely better midfielders out there that will be available, wish him well but not devastated that he has left.

That was phenomenal last night. Took a dip in momentum after a good start but from I Broadcast onwards, it was just unreal. Never seen the Barras as jumping as it was for Girls & Boys. That was something special. Plus they played Stereotypes, which was just fantastic.

As time has gone on, their followers have started to realise that, without the regular freak show, the outside world really doesn't regard them as relevant. Indeed, take away their ex-business partners, and what are celtic for, exactly? Coupled with the predictability of their domestic domination, it is starting to eat away at them. Look at the acres of empty seats they have been playing in front of. Belts are being tightened, which makes a return to European relevance even more unlikely for them. That many celtic fans - on here and elsewhere - continue to whistle past the graveyard pleases me mightily. Aye, just have patience, lads. Benedictus did a good job for us last season. No frills but good in the air and formed a fine partnership with Ben Gordon (mind you, Ben has been so good for us that pretty much anybody could form a good partnership with him ). I thought Bene actually improved with the ball at his feet as the season went on although you wouldn't say that was his strong point. Should be a good signing for Raith and all the best to him.

Have just cane across this thread and would like to share my story. I am a 43 year old police officer who also suffers from depression. I was in a destructive relationship where I was beaten by my partner on a regular basis and as a man it was hard to admit this was happening and I went further and further into a downward spiral. I made 3 attempts on my own life and was disappointed when realising I was still alive. I finally got out and met my beautiful fiancee who has helped me to see I deserve love and to be alive. I use my experience to make me not only a better person but better at my job and how I deal with people. I am still on medication but in a much better place. Pretty sure he scored against us in the defeat to Dundee at Dens two seasons ago, which ended our unbeaten run and set us on the dismal three wins in twenty form period. I remember being pretty surprised that he was only 16 - had a fantastic game.

I'M FINALLY UP TO DATE WITH BREAKING BAD!! So what the f**k are we talking about in here?!?! This thread has been like the fucking briefcase in Pulp Fiction for me, constantly gazing upon its orange glow without ever once peeking in or knowing what was going on. Let's talk Breaking Bad, motherfuckers. I have mixed feelings on being caught up. It means I don't have to avoid spoilers on here and Facebook at every time, I can look stuff up online and just generally talk about it, but on the other hand... No more Breaking Bad til Monday What a fantastic show though. Enjoyed the first season but wow, season after season it just gets better and better - seasons 4 and 5 have been amazingly good. The end of season 4 The train episode The approach the show takes to "good" and "bad" characters is really interesting; the shift in the main character from protagonist to antagonist. At this point I don't think Walt can be described as a good guy. The character development (well, certainly of the main characters) on the show is fantastic; Walt's journey from the pathetic chemistry teacher in the first episode to a potential drug lord has been frightening. It's a little like The Sopranos, where Tony was never really the character you were ultimately rooting for. I really root for Hank. Quite like Jesse too - obviously he's had his dodgy moments but he's almost going in the opposite direction from Walt. In the beginning he was happy to take Walt's money for the RV and f**k people over whereas now he's a lot more conscientious. Saul and Mike are the best characters in it, and Walt is obviously a fantastic character too, but you couldn't say that you're always genuinely rooting for him. He's been too much of a c**t. Interesting to see how the drug business takes its toll on Walt and everyone else as the effects ripple. Anyway, now that I can Google the shit out of it, I've found quite a few cool things.
