  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xw_F8K5j-s I bloody love this team. It's sad that this will likely be the best group of players and team spirit we'll ever have.

  2. As I'm sure you all expected, J_Stewart's summer has been #qual so far. Staggers in Galway and London the start of May, and the weddings last weekend and the weekend before got it off to a good start. Of course, there's plenty more coming up for someone as #DECE as J_Stewart. Got my end of season doo with the #LADZLADZLADZ from the football team tomorrow (being an insperash leader, I'm player/manager, natch) where we're obvs going on an all day #sesh. Weekend after it's off to LADsterdam for a stag weekend, then two weddings back-to-back weekends will close out June. July will start with the football team Casino Night Fundraiser (I could just donate all the cashmoneys myself because I'm v.v.v well off, but the younger boys need to learn how to sell like a #boss...like their #boss - J_Stewart) so as you can imagine, J_Stewart will be looking #absoswoon in my tux. Weekend after is another wedding, as is two weeks later. Week after that, up the road to the homeland for the local Gala Week where we'll get abso seshed in ironic fancy dress like the absolute #gentz that we are. Sure, I could go to Ibiza that weekend or Thailand or the Bahamas, or anywhere really as money isn't an issue, obvs, but us DECE bois never forget our roots, and it's good to bring a bit of #DECE back to the highlands. #realtalk. Obvs got the annual Club DECE trip to Marbs mid-August (#Marbs2k15), kilt fitting for my own wedding the weekend after (when you've found the #solid10 for you and feel dem feels, you just have to go for it. #realtalk), then a week in #Vegas for another wedding the last week of Aug / first week of Sept to close out the summer. Likely catch up with C. Haz while we're there if I've got time. Will probably play a wee bit of his set for him again like I did last year (http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/202508-club-dece/page-73#entry8493006). You're welcome Calv. So, pretty HUGE summer for me. some might think it sounds too difficult being as #DECE and popular as I am, and you might think it'd be hard to keep up with #standard DECE activities like #lifting #nutrition and #grooming, but as we all know, DECE never sleeps and the the pursuit of #dench never ends, so don't worry, I'm still making all dem gainz in the gym and the kitchen, so many gainz. Doss Betas might also be thinking "fucking hell, that's a lot on, and you have your own stagger in October (to the v.v.v DECE city of Berlin) and wedding in December to pay for, aside from finding the time for it all, how can you possibly afford it???". SAKES DOSS BETAS, stop making me repeat myself, you all know the drill by now, I'm J_Stewart, and I can afford it. So, wee update there for any of the #topboiz that aren't on the Club DECE whatsapp group (can't be many now, so much #qualbantz), and for all the jealous betas that come in here on the reg to see what the #legendz of Club DECE are up to. To paraphrase the Geto Boys - Damn, it feels good to be a DECEr.

  4. They are both everywhere, yet no-where. Much like gravity they permeate through every fibre of our being. Omnipresent forces that existed long before you and shall continue to exist long after you are nothing more than a faded name on an ancient census record.Even after the last crop has failed. Even after the last river has been poisoned. Even after the sun collapses in on itself and supernovas. Even then Club DECE shall remain.

  8. We've a few key players to replace much like most sides in the division. We don't have Peter Houston tasked with sourcing these replacments though, which works in our favour.

  10. Going back to the drink thing, pre-drinks is a fucking terrible term. You're either drinking or you're not. Pre-drinking is before you drink. If you drink, then it's not pre-drinking. It's just drinking. That can get to f**k.

  11. This. All of it. I've loved Reilly as a Queens player. I think we've been a much better team with than without him over the last three seasons. His attributes are clear and as outlined. His energy enabled us to play higher up as a team and went a long way to enabling us to dominate sides in a lot of matches. We'll miss him badly and I'm more worried to lose him than I was 41 goal Nicky Clark two years ago. However, he'll do we to make an impact at Hearts. He did go off the boil goalswise latterly and he'll be playing for a stronger side in a much tougher league. I really really hope he makes a success of it, but it'll be difficult.

  13. I'd agree with that. Just hoping that we'd be looking to bring in some better players to replace them. Not loaners, though; that's shite. Hetherington's worth keeping anyway IMO.

  16. Did he? I thought he'd been there longer Ok, replace that with, "Fowler will know people who know him well from Killie"

  17. All speculation anyway. Certainly trust Fowler to know the type of player we need. Time will tell.
    1 point
  18. His record doesnt inspire much excitement. You'd have to think, though, that Fowler would know him well from Killie. Of course, that could be the only reason we're being linked with him!

  19. Ngoo would do well in the Championship IMO. He gets a lot of stick from some Hearts fans, mainly because he was honking in the LC Final against St Mirren, but there were some games for us he was unplayable. Scored a few good goals and was pretty strong. He only really went downhill when we went to 2 up top and tried to shoehorn Sutton in alongside him, a partnership that suited neither of them.

  20. The two aren't really comparable imo. The Wire is more of a social commentary (albeit it a very cynical one) offering many different perspectives, where Breaking Bad is more like a joyride from the perspective of Walter White/Heisenberg. I preferred the wire, but also really enjoyed Breaking Bad.

  21. How is Agnew switching the ball onto his left foot, or moving his body shape to allow him to receive the ball with his left foot, any slower than a right footed player doing the same? Got to disagree about keeping Fleming over Agnew. I like them both, but for me Agnew is the superior player.

  22. Meritocracy. Hire people based on ability. If the person doing the hiring is racist, sexist, whatever-ist, then deal with them. Don't introduce another problem to try and get around them.

  23. Would be a disgraceful decision to let Slater go and replace him with a Hearts reject.

  25. Vigurs had some good form playing off the striker in a 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1 in County's first season in the top flight. I think anyone would assume that's his best position, given his height, technique and lack of quickness. However, I've long maintained he is best on the left of a midfield four or five. When he gets back I think he's pretty good at helping out the left-back - there were countless times where he helped Marc Fitzpatrick and Scott Morrison out of a hole. The problem is he doesn't always get there. The reason I think he is best on the left is because he has the tendency to wander inside unannounced and unmarked. He overloads other areas of the pitch and his technique and vision made that a huge asset for County when they finished in the top six. His vision plus Ivan Sproule's darting runs was a brilliant partnership, with Richard Brittain, Rocco Quinn and Paul Lawson holding the centre. I remember Derek Adams switching Vigurs to the right flank to cut inside in a home win against Celtic and they didn't know how to deal with him picking up all sorts of pockets of space, Vigurs made the difference in that game, going 0-2 down and winning 3-2. IIRC his best form for Motherwell in 2013-14 was when they put him on the left rather than playing him in the centre. He plays too many 'Hollywood' balls in the centre to be a reliable central midfielder. Ultimately, he might be too similar to Stevenson but given the latter's injury record he would still probably be very handy to have.

  26. Knox, Gray & Norris were a soul funk power trio active in the late 70s. They enjoyed little commercial success outside their native Canada but "Blow the roof off this place" and "Funking time again" both appeared on the soundtrack of Shaft sequels. The band split and Norris went on to a short stint as bongo player for Earth Wind & Fire

  27. He meant that's what the thought / hope was with a lot of fans prior to the signing of Scott Fox. It would have meant now Brown & Fox competing but who knows who Jim has in mind as the second keeper. Vigurs is a left-footed midfielder. We played him for the majority of his time on the left wing, but he's not a "winger" as such. He much prefers to cut into the middle and drive towards the goal or drift into the middle. He'll need an attacking left back behind him to offer real width, but then he's not the best at covering back so an attacking left back would need a midfielder with a good vision for danger to then cut in and cover!

  36. Should do an ok job for you, Walker wasn't really given a chance after DJ got the No1 shirt but looked ok from what I remember a couple of seasons ago. McKenna prob wasn't good enough for the Championship but should be fine at a lower level, did pretty well in his earlier games but wasn't consistent and dropped out of the team only getting the odd sub appearance.

  38. Look at someone like John Knox in Scotland, Savonarola in Florence or the Lollards in England. Troublesome religions take a while to bring to heel. Do it wrong and the populace can be against you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacquerie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peasants%27_Revolt Peasant revolts can be very very troublesome. Perhaps its missed in the TV series but Cersci built up the faith militant to be her tools, but she thinks she is Twin reborn but as smart as she is, she is nowhere near as clever as she thinks she is. The faith militant gets out of her control far too quickly for her to organise resistance to it and Tommen is to much of a child. There are one hell of a lot of people and not many Gold Cloaks more over in big rebellions commoner troops cannot be relied on. The Tyrells and Lannisters are still to busy playing games to have worked out they need to work together. The tools the Tyrells have a slow working, food. Things are moving too quick for that and they dont have the manpower (in the book they are engaged in a seige of Storms End). Power is always much more a figment of the imagination than it seems (ask the communists in East Europe in 89), this is a key theme of the book and TV show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpL6Fwu0wkw The swords of the Lannisters and Tyrells are suddenly in the wrong place and not enough to affect the outcome of this. That is the point, Cersi lost sight of what power really is.

  39. I'm pretty sure the same 15 people proudly announce they've got into college at this time of year, every year, for the last 5 years on my Facebook. Please give up and stop wasting everyone's time and money. I'm all for free education as a stepping stone to university, but the same people going to college time and time again only to drop out after two months enrages me. No doubt they'll be posting in November saying their college is a 'joke' for kicking them out after not turning up for weeks. Glad to get that off my chest. Hopefully I'll be relatively hate free for the rest of today.

Women and black people should be interviewed for every job to give them more opportunities at managerial and boardroom level apparently. What a load of pish. Best person for the job and that's it. Why do people always feel the need to bring race/gender etc into everything?
