  1. Hate and bile? Laughing at the death of an ethereal idea that is a football club does not even come close to hate or bile. Laughing at the death of an ethereal idea does not even come close to extinguishing the very real life of even an insect. Laughing at people who invest so much emotion into an ethereal idea that they believe it actually matters so much that they attach strong emotions such as hate and love to it is.... well it's just hilarious. Get a grip, people live and die every day, football is just a game, football clubs are just a common interest with no real significance in comparison to real life, something to kill time. You are taking comedy far too seriously. This is not a problem, we love how seriously you and others take it, it gives us something to laugh at. Thank you for making our lives a little better, thank you for being a fool. On second thoughts, don't get a grip. You are far too valuable as entertainment for us. What would we do, what would we laugh at if it were not for the likes of you and your melodrama?

  4. Certainly not. The bread was well buttered. I make them the night before (sans crisps; they are added at the time of eating) and they are in the fridge overnight. They are wrapped in cling film and put in my lunchbox, then the lunchbox is placed in the fridge. Upon arrival at work I put the lunchbox in the fridge, removing it only at lunchtime. This keeps the sandwiches from drying out. I don't think so. That would be terrible behaviour. I would hope he would find a pram that was big enough for the amputee to fit in, without having to be squashed.

  5. Ha! Rangers went down the shitter due to alleged tax fiddling. Now their fans are wanking themselves dry at the thought of a convicted tax fraudster (who was part of the previous fiddling regime) taking over. Do you c***s have "mug" written through you like a stick of rock?

  7. How is Cockwomble still in a job? When are the SFA and SPFL going to grow a pair and hammer the bigots on both sides who blight our game? Last Friday the sounds coming from the away fans was a disgrace broadcast internationally, the Semi final was a disgrace broadcast world wide. A few Chelsea thugs on a train in a racist incident is rightly condemned by the English authorities yet there was hundreds of bigots belting out hate songs and the Scottish football authority don't see a problem WTF!!! This is not acceptable behavior in modern day society.

  8. Obviously don't think I'm good enough to blog about this stuff, but thought I would start a wee thread for anyone interested in Czech football, in particular the domestic league. I'll also be writing a wee bit about the fortunes of the Czech national side. Gives me something to do and might also give some folk an idea of the level of the game in far-flung central Europe. Many of my posts will be about Zbrojovka Brno, my local club playing in the Synot Liga, the top level of Czech football. Saturday night sees an interesting game against the hated Sparta Prague, and I'll definitely be trying to cover that. I'd also recommend @Synotliga_EN on twitter which does English-language updates of games. ---- Due to the international break, which was fruitful for the Czech national side with wins over Turkey and Kazakhstan, there was no top league football this weekend. I therefore took the opportunity to travel across the city to take in SK Líšeň against Prostějov in the Moravian-Silesian Football League, the third tier of Czech football alongside the Bohemian Football League. At the end of the season, one team from each gets promoted to the II Liga, the equivalent of the Championship over here. The start of the day saw Líšeň, who by some distance are the "second team" in Brno behind Zbrojovka, lying third-bottom of the league with 7 points from 10 matches, facing a strong Prostějov side, featuring several players with higher level experience, second on goal difference. A half-decent crowd of around 400 saw the encounter. Unfortunately for the home team, they were thoroughly outclassed by a strong visiting side who never looked like giving up their lead, which came on the 9th minute as a nice through-ball resulted in a neat top-corner finish for Lukáš Zelenka, who gave Líšeň problems all afternoon. A defensive error gave Zelenka his second around the 20th minute mark, where a nothing ball was failed to be taken care of by a haphazard-looking defence, allowing the dynamic midfielder to slip in and poke the ball past Bureš into the net. The only significant chance by Líšeň arrived on the half-hour mark, a quickly taken throw was then drilled into the box by David Krška, yet from only a few yards out Jan Sedlák's shot was high and a yard wide of the goal. The chance to seal the encounter, and Zelenka's hat-trick, came minutes later, but the one-on-one was dealt with well by Bureš, forcing an early shot which went wide of the keeper's right hand post. After several reasonably-priced pints provided by the pitchside bar, the second half was a relatively meaningless affair, with the home team coming into the match a lot further, without creating any clear-cut chances and any real threat of scoring. Prostějov, perhaps sensing this, took their feet off the gas and endeavoured to keep as much possession as possible. Their third, perhaps undeserved given the nature of the half, goal, arrived in the 92nd minute. Líšeň, who after for the last ten minutes bizarrely chose to open themselves up to get a goal (why they din't attempt this earlier is a puzzler) failed to deal with a quick break from the visitors on the right flank, leading to a cross which the unmarked Karel Kroupa calmly lifted over the keeper. 3-0 will of course be disappointing to the home team, but perhaps not as much as the manner in which the team played. This being my first time watching Líšeň this season, I can't comment on if this is how the side have been playing in general, but eight losses from eleven is poor form. They will no doubt hope to get something out of Saturday's game away to FC Hlučín, currently 6th of 16 in the table. Highlights of the match are available on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05zc_nmbD48#t=350 Hopefully things can turn around this year for struggling Líšeň, who maintain a nice ground in a leafy part of Brno and are very much a club grounded in the community. A lot of work is necessary if they are to repeat their claim to fame, a memorable run in the Czech Cup 2007-2008 where their defeat of Slavia Prague 4-3 is still one of the greatest upsets in Czech football of the last few decades. If I have time before Saturday, I'll post a preview to the Zbrojovka-Sparta game, as well as other games to look out for in the Synot Liga. If there are any questions I'll try my best to answer them, hope you enjoyed reading and would appreciate comments. Cheers!

  10. What makes him exempt from any form of criticism? Even you must see he's been getting it drastically wrong recently. There's hardly hoardes of Sons fans foaming at the mouth shouting for his head every week. We're on an internet forum discussing what has been an absolutely shite two months worth of performances. I'd be delighted to see him turn it around asap but as long as the shiteness continues fans will criticise and quite rightly so.

  21. ...and also because he's missed a fair amount of complete sitters. The recent miss against Stranraer gives me nightmares. Agree that he does good work around the pitch but the chances he's missed have been ridiculous at times. We saw he had the ability to score early in the season but his heed's obviously gone in regards to finishing. Even his goal the other week (his only one in 20-odd games, christ!) was deflected in. Barrowman is a carthorse but at least he has the ability to bludgeon the ball over the line occasionally. Moff seems scared to get in positions to score unless he's done all the hard work himself. Geggan and Falkingham are the two biggest let downs this season. Unbelievable that they've performed so badly after being key players for the previous two seasons. Geggan in particular was crucial last season. This season he's hardly even deserved a game.

  28. I read in a newspaper today that UKIP fully support the retention of a totally free NHS. Possibly one of the greatest policies I think any political party could hold. If all other parties came out and said they would privatise the NHS I still would not give UKIP any support. Why? Because of what they stand for! I don't think you will have the intelligence to understand my point but most on here will.

  38. This is utter genius. Rate dee dee as some of his best work. For observational stuff he's up there with the best of them, just small quirks and detail that's so far ahead of more or less any comedy produced in scotland. I really hate parochial obvious scottish humour, och aye were scottish hehe haggis kilts hate the English, blah blah blah. Utter shite. He's on a totally different level, yes there's the occasional sketch that doesn't work but at least he tries something different. Not just terrible cliched stuff like only an excuse. The way he uses social media is great also. What other comedian produces their own apps?

  40. Not quite in the same league as some of the guff on here, but at one time I was a shop steward and in the middle of one particular dispute we refused to deal with our own manager, so they brought in another one from a different department to try and negotiate. At the first meeting we had with him he introduces himself and says "I've been airdropped in here to try and broker a deal", which prompted the retort from one of my esteemed colleagues of "Who the f**k do you think you are? Rudolf Hess?"
