  1. One man's ego trip and determination to cheat by spending beyond the club's means while screwing the fans.

  2. I love the records idea of a good story... Absolutely no evidence he considered buying motherwell. A link to a story that confirms Boyle had never spoken to him. And now apparently he's a Motherwell fan?

  6. Sorry to butt in, being an Ayr supporter and all, I just wanted to say well done to the hearts board for getting the share certificates out. My late father and his family were all jambos and seeing as he wasn't here to do it I bought shares in his memory. Whilst it wasn't a lot, it was nice to get some confirmation. Well done Ann Budge. Now enhance my investment and win the league!!

  12. May as well try to drag in as many teams as possible, has he had anything to do with Cowden, bought a program and not told the SPFL about it?

  20. Thanks for the feedback on big Zander. Looks like my hopes of him stepping up for next season are now slim. You never know, he's still young I guess and learning his trade! Btw - this whole 'stick all threads relating to team x in one big giant thread' idea is absolutely garbage. Defeats the whole point in having threads and makes the forum difficult to read.

  27. Yes, I'm one of the older fans. No, I'm not friends with any of the movers and shakers. I don't personally know Gilbert Lawrie or the Hosies. Lastly, I'm not defending Brabco. If you reread my first post tonight I talk about remaining vigilant and set out the circumstances under which I would support the move. Under no circumstances am I suggesting we have blind faith and simply accept what we're given. However, what I am speaking up against is the blind cynicism where certain Dumbarton fans are always looking for problems and conspiracies. I judge people by their actions and, as a long time supporter who has seen many charlatans come and go, I see our club being run relatively well at present by the Lawries, Hosies, Jardines and Findlays of this world. Until they do something to undermine that they will have my encouragement and support to explore relocation options in the long term interests of our club.

  28. 'too small' is just a polite way of telling a youngster that (in their opinion) they're not good enough. The only position where being small is a real hindrance is centre back but it's rare you'd play that position anyway unless you were at least average height. In short, the 'he was released for being too small' line is almost certainly not the real reason. Why would a club release a player which they thought had the talent just because they weren't tall? Defies logic. Celtic just misjudged the guy's talent, or he was a 'late developer' and needed first team football. If they had something against small players how did Forrest and McGregor make it through the youth teams?

  30. I always find it utterly depressing when a club release a young player for being "too small".

  36. Don't really see why Lawell's comments would be controversial, TBH. It's a question of - would you rather that everybody in the league plays by the same rules, or would you rather ignore the rules in exchange for a series of large cash payments? The first option there is called "professional sport". The second option is called "corruption". There's really no getting away from this: deliberately ignoring the rules - or turning a blind eye to other people doing so - out of self-interest is corrupt. It's the heart and soul of corruption. The question we all faced when Rangers died was, would we rather have a corrupt game and more money, or a fair one with potentially less?* I think we made the right decision, and it looks like everyone else except Rangers fans agrees. I wonder why that is? *As is routinely observed here, Celtic stood to lose a lot more than the rest of the top tier clubs... And they still made the right choice IMO.

  39. I would agree that no Muslim, Druze or Christian Israelis were offered citizenship - mainly because they are already Israeli citizens so don't need to be offered it. Why would any Palestinian in the West Bank want Israeli citizenship? You can't have an independence movement while at the same wanting citizenship from the country you want independence from. Israeli did actually offer citizenship to the 300,000 Palestinians in East Jerusalem but most rejected it as they don't want to be Israelis. Yes, they actually rejected the chance to vote and fully take part in Israeli life - the thing which you seem to be suggesting they are denied. Your ignorance and the incoherence of your argument is truly astounding. Just to sum up for you this hard to grasp point: Palestinians don't want to be Israeli - they want to be Palestinian.

  40. Rangers fan makes a point and he's immediately got hordes of P&Bers shouting him/her down no matter what was in the post. (not as bad as it used it be, seeing as most of the trolls have moved on and only the dregs have remained) In return most Rangers fans have given up trying to debate when any thread concerning Rangers turns into a shltefest.
