  2. Wee update on Orlaith-Rose, 13 days today, and still being tube fed, her billiruben is creeping up again so we expect her to be back under lights again, setting her back for another few weeks. A long road again it seems to get her home, just want the wee doll out of hospital and with her family!!

  3. Aye, going to both semi finals and the final next Saturday, costing a fair whack but fair looking forward to it. I've been a fan of the contest since I was young but haven't been able to make the trip because of uni exams in May so this is my first contest, pretty buzzing for the whole thing.

  6. Either side could win this game if they score more goals than the other team, or if they win on penalties in the event of a draw. I just hope Dundee United win because I support them.

  7. That's shameful journalism. ' Gers blow £70m for same results' indeed. We won the bloody Ramsden's.

  9. Sorry, can't agree with that at all. He's done absolutely nothing to suggest that for me, nothing whatsoever. When have we tried anything different at all this season? It's 4-4-2 no matter what. He had 4-5-1 almost forced upon him at Easter Road and it worked a treat, so he decided to approach the next league game in the same manner - 4-0 down at half time at home. What else has he tried? For me, there's an absolute catalogue of errors for Murray this season. In no particular order: "First and foremost" the squad size The timing of dropping Ross Laidlaw Failing to sign a centre back in January Failure to sign a winger of any kind at any stage to give competition to Cardle and Anderson His merry-go-round of strikers - it's not all about who scored last which is why we've been 'treated' to Baird and Spence chasing their own first touches all game on several occasions when it's clearly, by a long distance, our worst partnership 4-4-2 no matter what Square pegs in round holes - the Dumbarton game for instance Failing to even attempt a shake-up for the majority of games e.g. swapping Anderson and Cardle for 5 minutes, push Thomson forward when it's not working for Booth, etc Insistence on playing players, e.g. Cardle and Fox, when completely off form The difference in attitude between Cup and league games A completely and utterly criminal failure to address set-piece problems - just how many did we lose? Probably the pettiest of my points but his post-match interviews really do not suggest he knows what's going wrong at all - accept this could be a public facade but it doesn't inspire confidence after yet another defeat when he just repeats that "we're disappointed as we want to win games of football" Four points from twelve games (a third of the season) against the top 3 A complete failure to handle the behaviour of Calum Elliot with referees. A complete failure to address the shocking defending which saw us leaking 3-4 a game EVERY game A complete failure to address our woeful away form - seven points from our last thirteen away games. THREE WINS IN TWENTY The last few months have completely drained me of any hope Grant Murray is the man to take us forward. He's given us a moment we'll never forget, but it's also a moment that shouldn't be allowed to hold us back. He built a good first team this season at the expense of a squad but the worrying thing is, as pointed out, we haven't had a bad injury record at all this season. We lost our first choice goalie for much of the season but the man Murray signed as back-up and the man Murray brought in to replace the back-up were nowhere near upto it. We lost our first-choice centre back for much of the season but the men Murray signed as back-up, and indeed Murray's other first choice centre back, weren't up to it. We lost Elliot for a spell and Smith and Spence, who Murray signed, weren't upto it. There's the shell of a good team but if I were a Watson, a Cardle, a Moon, a Baird, I'd be looking elsewhere as they certainly don't deserve to have a team with as poor a record as ours. A shell is not enough. Let's try to keep what good we have in the playing pool and get rid of a manager who has completely failed to take us ANYWHERE since his appointment - we finished seventh under McGlynn in 11/12 with 44 points, and we finish 7th, in a weaker league with a better squad, with 42 points in 13/14. Someone else has to be given the chance to improve on that.

  10. You might have a problem with it if you were going and also taking your wife and 2 or 3 kids. Yesterday's Welsh Cup Final prices were Adult £8, Senior Citizens £5, Under 16's £1. See, I can do ridiculous comparisons too.

  11. The season is done now and we can fully assess our achievement. I've been accused of being a happy clapper this season as, for me, it hasn't been all doom and gloom. However, we have finished 2 points clear of relegation. 2points, or a Jason Thomson dive (that's for all them Cowden fans who'll be spewing the day anyway ) I'm sorry, but that isn't good enough. add in our form since December and we'll be lucky to not do a Morton next season! As most of our squad are out of contract we have an opportunity to rebuild. I wouldn't clear out as there a few gems in there but the squad as a whole lacks balance, experience and a bit of dig to get us through games. I would say the club would be best taking the hit and coming to a deal with the Managerial team to move them on. We have time to go through the process of identifying a new manager who can build a decent squad for next seasons championship. I wouldn't say Murray is a total failure, he isn't. However, looking forward, the probability of us being cannon fodder with him at the helm next season are pretty high. There are some decent managers out there who could do a much better job with what we've got and what we could have.

  12. I think there may well be but he clearly couldn't give a f**k, he either needs to pull his socks up of have somebody knock some sense into him. He was fucking garbage at the beginning of the season and didn't look like he was even pretending to try. Somebody on here said he'll be in the juniors in 3-5 years, they're absolute right, I guarantee it. John McEnroe said in an interview I remember that when he watches the elite boys tennis he can tell by the kids attitude, and attitude alone, who will and won't make it. I will not be happy if he's still at the club next season. You only have to look at somebody like Tade to see where hard work, ambition and determination can get you even if you are have weaknesses in other, more technical areas. If Murray is in charge at the start of next season we won't finish above 8th, at a push, unless he signs a team who have quality enough to get results despite him. Our problems are two fold really, 1) We have a squad with some players who simply do not perform to the best of their abilities, 2) We have a management team who let them.

  13. Sorry, hang on a minute. You're going to have to clarify, because that sounds like everybody, from Craigie Boy and Chuckie, through Ally and Imran, Durrant and McDowall, all the way down, through the "footballers" like Cribari, Peralta, Daly, and the rest, to the kit-mans boy. Mugs then, Fucked now, Figures of Fun Forever.

  19. I'd give Murray more time to prove that he is learning from the mistakes that have been made this season too. If we are as pish as what we have been since the turn of the year come November then it may be worth looking at making a change.

  20. There are very few fans who actually support the club, never mind the manager. How many of those 3500-4000 fans at Easter Road have been to 10 games this season?

  21. Next season's final table in the Championship could look like this (with apologies to Kilmarnock, Cowdenbeath, Ayr, Stranraer and Alloa). 1/ Hearts ----------------------- 2/ Falkirk 3/ Kilmarnock 4/ Rangers ---- ------- ------- --- 5/ Dumbarton 6/ Queen of the South 7/ Livingston 8/ Dunfermline Ath ----- --------- ----------- 9/ Raith Rovers -------------------------------- 10/ Alloa Ath That is without a 25 point deduction A 25 point deduction for Rangers when they go into administration would probably mean Alloa would finish in the play offs and automatic relegation for Rangers, real relegation not removal. Now each way Rangers are f***ed, unless the SFA and the league can find a way of changing their own rules again, such as not giving Rangers a points deduction for entering administration for a second time and changing the playoff system to two games rather than the current three to have a team finishing 4th in the Championship winning promotion. Of course just hypothetical, completely embarrassing for the club with the 2nd biggest wages in the country if this does happen, imagine if it did.

  23. 7th, the Ramsdens cup and a Scottish Cup QF is a decent season. The alarming run of form and absolute garbage we have served up in 2014 is why we should be looking to change. Next season has potential to be brilliant..... if we are competitive. I can't see us being unless there are some drastic changes. Murray has done a decent job but we look out of ideas and motivation. Time for a change.

  24. Possibly. Under Mcglynn we had an unbelievable team spirit and work ethic. Alas, that was coupled with some pretty primitive football. Murray has kept the latter, lost the former, all with a better squad.

  26. Yeah I was right in the midst of the scoreboard end of fans (not my usual spot I might add, I usually sit nearer the middle) and from there it seemed fairly quiet at other areas throughout the game. Felt like it was only us singing in extra time aswell. I appreciate it might be purely the perception I got from where I was. Think I'm just worrying needlessly though. I won't be at another game until the Final, and Im away on "holiday" on Wednesday morning until Saturday night, the realisation that it'll be under 7 days until the Final when I return from that trip is fucking terrifying me

  27. I actually thought there was a fantastic atmosphere at that game. McDiarmid gets flack for being a soulless lego dome or whatever but that's mainly due to it being less than a 1/3 full most weeks, when it's nearing capacity i think it's one of the best grounds in the SPL for generating noise. I had to sit in the north stand due to the east and Ormond being sold out that night and it seemed like a good portion of the stand were getting right behind the team despite most of them only being casual fans. Suppose the real difference was at the end, i slumped into my chair "on the verge of tears" if you will and one of the casuals that came along with us just sort of brushed it of with a "nevermind" as it obviously didn't mean as much to him, he still knew plenty of the songs however so i wouldn't worry about people not getting involved.

  28. Yeah I know, but at some point of this Final we'll have a low period and I think it would make a huge difference to the result if the fans got right behind the players at that point. Throughout the whole time I've been going its always made a difference when we make noise to support the team. I just worry some people without much attachment won't be as willing to give that sort of support. As I say Im usually wrong, and I don't any experience of how neutrals react in Finals

  29. As far as I can see, from his tactics, some of his team selections, substitutions, inability to correct or even see basic mistakes, and his utter lack of reality in his post match talks Murray has next to no managerial ability. Sorry Bert, not your fault, but make way for someone who knows what they're doing eh? PS - You too Paul Smith, I cant see what you bring to the club.

  38. I wouldn't be opposed to us bringing in a few more part time players to bolster the squad. If Alloa go down I'd hope Grant Murray was standing in Ben Gordon's front garden by the time he got in from the game. Outstanding defender who won't/can't go full time.
