You know how Rangers fans like to accuse us of jealousy, well right now, I'll admit to some. I'm genuinely a wee bit envious of people who happen to come from Kirkcaldy and have backed their team for good or ill and turned over a trump card today. Well done lads - it looked wonderful. They earned today's triumph, they value it and they won't forget it. It's possible to envy people the immediacy of their triumph, yet have a vicarious share.

Alright bears, never mind the technicalities and pedantic tittle tattle. How can you watch that and pretend it's Rangers? It must be tearing you apart knowing that when you were SFA members the first time around everyone went up against you with trepidation in their hearts, that can safely be replaced with expectation. The name Rangers used to be revered in the world of football, now it's laughed at. How does that make you feel? Do you think the club holding the current SFA membership deserve to display the badge?

I'm not really trying to compare what McIntyre has done against what Johnston would've because that is impossible. I'm assessing McIntyre and what he has done, against what he should have. That is possible, and it's clear he ballsed up at the start of the season and it's cost us.

When you watch the team does your heart fill with pride or does it feel empty, is there something missing from there? Has the passion gone? Is the journey turning from an enjoyable romp to a painful slog? Do you see Rangers when you watch a match these days or the poor broken imitation everyone else has been seeing for months? Are they worth the slog? They'll never be what you want them to be, they'll never be the all conquering, almighty Rangers.

No that isnt a matter of fact. We probably underperformed but attributing it all directly to the manager is conjecture and far too simplistic. I wouldnt necessarily agree with every decision he made but some of the early criticism was way over the top anyway. Some players certainly didnt start the season as well as they are playing now. In padticular there was lots of criticism of leaving Mitchell out for about a month but he certainly started the season poorly, possibly a hangover from his groin surgery. He is like a different player now. Bringing in Dowie was roundly criticised too but he has been outstanding in the last 2 or 3 months and a big part of our good form. We had a run of three disappointing early season home games (losses to Raith and Dumbarton and the draw with Cowdenbeath we should have lost. If we had won a couple of those we would pretty much be in the playoffs already but the reality is we would still likely be third at best. Hamilton and Dundee have consistently found ways to best us head to head. We are likely going to finish up roughly where we should have regardless of how we got there. Its now about whether we can do anything to raise our game and take good form into the playoffs.
