  1. This is my first post so go easy I'll help you out, Football in Scotland is full of local football associations where volunteers ensure that leagues are run. Each one of those leagues is full of people who have a very good grasp of football rules, some more so than others and they can rattle of an obscure rule at the drop of a hat. Why don't you try and look up to see who is on the committee of your local football association and ask them if it is the same club according to football rules? As one of those people who helps to run a local football association as the league secretary I can tell you now according to football rules they are not the same club. Anyone can set up a football club, join a local association, which is then affiliated via that particular national association to the SFA. Clubs at Amateur and Welfare FA level are just that clubs, however if they want to progress to Junior or Professional level where money changes hands they have to become a company. Apart from Brechin City, every other club that I know of in Scotland is an incorporated company whether that is a Private Limited Company or a Public Limited Company, the club is the company and the company is the club under Scots Law. If the club goes out of business, the club which is the company dies. It is that simple. (If a Mod wants me to provide proof about being an Association Secretary, drop me an email and I will be more than happy to respond)

  2. You shouldn't be so down on yourself. I'd argue your views were spot on pre liquidation. because you believed liquidation wouldn't happen, you could be honest. Now that liquidation is happening, you're having to grasp onto every corrupt rule change introduced under a veil of secrecy, just so you can hold onto those titles and keep counting. The sad thing is, pre liquidation, you predicted others would do this very thing.

  3. Reading youngsy's indefatigable quest for the proof (am I alone in reading his posts in a Bomber "show me the deeds" style?) is a great way to get over the Monday morning blues. Its like a child who refuses to believe the tooth fairy doesn't exist and won't budge on that viewpoint until the government, the UN or NATO release an official document on the matter. Only the child never believed in the tooth fairy in the first place and left loads of scribbles in crayon to such effect in his desk for others to find.

  5. Can we knock the keeper thing on the head, Lee Robinson is a top class keeper at this level while Young Ross is a novice, with the run in now fast approaching we cannot afford to put a rookie in goals no matter how good last weeks performance was, he will, bearing in mind his age make mistakes and costly ones at that which in the long run will be bad for his career. If handled in the right way Ross will blossom in to a first class keeper for this club and his development will take place slowly and surely. We must stay in this league and even better go for a play off place (which as of yet is not beyond us). The injury to the witch was a big blow to us, as i personaly think he was the best in the league, Lee Robinson is not far behind the witch but.. HE IS NO ANDY MCNEIL. The signing of Robinson is a major positive for us as a club and we should welcome him between the sticks and with the imminent return of Watson i beleive that this will will make a big difference to our stretched defence. We know what we are capable of and we can also see that we are under performing just now, this is a time for us to back our manager not sack him. I also believe that the forwards need some "encouragement" to perform...i can see the work rate of Bairdy helping with this, I`m prepared to give it time before i start shouting for decapitation.

  6. Airdrie United, now Airdrieonians, took the membership of Clydebank. But we can't be the same club as Clydebank because they are alive and prospering in the juniors. There was never any break in a team playing in the famous diamond jersey in Airdrie after our liquidation but we are not the same team even though we have the original name back. We are a new club, I can deal with it because it's still a team representing the town of Airdrie, and I suggest you lot find a way to deal with yours being a new club regardless of what the fawning idiots of the SFA SPFL ASA or any other organisation has to say about it.

  8. Robinson's a good goalie, seem to remember him making an absolute beauty of a save at the South Stand end against us one time. Think it was a Baird header actually. Up there with some of McGurn's over the years. Don't think it's particularly relevant to discussion over his selection on Saturday. Exceptionally harsh on Laidlaw who's done well since his mistake against Dundee. I'd have played Laidlaw until when/if he lost his form again. Don't think it sends out the right message, personally. Not that it was relevant to the performance/scoreline.

  11. http://www.rangersinternationalfootballclub.com/shareholder-centre/business-overview "Rangers International Football Club plc is a football club based in Glasgow, Scotland." "The Rangers Football Club, formed in 1872, is one of the world’s most successful clubs, having won 54 League titles, 33 Scottish Cups, 27 League Cups and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972." Ah, so they are in fact 2 clubs........

  20. It already is! Only kidding. I don't think anyone has seriously contemplated what we would do. If we do get 4th, we're as well just enjoying it but there's a long way to go and as good as the run we are on now is, it can all change in a couple of weeks.

  26. The trouble here Youngsy, is that we know already how official bodies view it and why. So repeatedly asking for official word which is contrary to this is a bit silly. Of more direct relevance to our discussion is why you've apparently changed your mind, in much the same way as Jim Traynor did. I'm not even goading you here, but you must recognise that at one point you viewed liquidation as hugely significant and that you considered the club to effectively be the company. Now though, you apparently see things differently. I feel no need to state that Rangers are dead, or that the current outfit bears no relation to what preceded it. I even recognise a version of continuity. You must see however that from our standpoint, it just looks like opportunism on your part. You seemed to regard liquidation as representing some desperate sort of endgame, until it actually happened. Human nature perhaps, but inconsistent and wide open to attack.

  27. Good post, Stoney. One wee quibble, though, if I may. I find it uncomfortable to think that we, and other football fans, were ever "peers" of this lot. Because that's what we are. Football fans. Full stop. That lot and their former rivals are about so much more, and none of it exactly admirable. And to make it clear to youngsy, if he can find anyone without a vested interest who will unequivocally endorse his quite spectacular volte-face(or even explain why his views have changed)*, then maybe the rest of us might take him seriously. *

  29. MARK FUD ROBERTS Ayr boss Roberts reckons The Newcunto F.C.'s League One record this season is PHENOMENAL !!!! Pish Markyboy !!! If they had done the same run while having similar salary budgets ( part time ) as the rest of the Teams, then that wid be PHENOMENAL. Presently the The Blue Vermin ( deceased ) Tribute Act have probably spent more than the 30 lower league teams have spent combined. SO YIR TALKING SHITE ROBERTS.

  30. Not even sure I should post this here to be honest. But don't know where else is suitable. My dads cousin died last week through illnesses, my great uncle died 2 years previously. It's never really upset me with family members dying until tonight. I haven't really thought about it but my grans been frail recently and after being told she took ill again I'm now scared she won't be around much longer. I've actually got myself worked up about this as she's been ill for so long and in and out of hospital for the past 6 years. I'm now scared because I'm completely unprepared for this happening and I don't know what to do. I plan on going later this week to see my grandparents but I've now got this thought in my head that's upsetting me.

  32. Whenever you see someone with threads so dench they make you ache with jealousy. Whenever you see a straight 10 being led from the sweaty dance floor into the cool night air. Whenever you see abs so shredded that you pull your sleeves further down out of sheer embarrassment. That's when/ where a Club DECE gathering is happening.

  33. Dwight Schrute is comfortably the finest character in television history. Like every other big comedy, this seriously nose-dived into more of a soap towards the end but series 2-5, two and three in particular, were absolutely phenomenal television. Best comedy series I've ever watched.

  34. Please don't hate me, but I was never much of a fan of Oasis. However, I've often found Noel a very witty and likeable interviewee, and this compilation of his video commentary's is really very entertaining... For any faint hearted Victorian ladies watcihng, I should warn you that his language is a little coarse at times.
