  1. I think most folk will have a dynamic IP address, which will make tracking anyone difficult, unless of course you are a spook. Still, I would like to think there is an element of espionage at play here. I will be sitting on the bench outside of the mid steeple next Saturday, wearing a trench coat and trilby. Identify yourself by saying: "The geese fly low over the Russian Steppes". I will respond by saying: "Yes, comrade. The red fox will feast before the week is out". We can then swap the names and addresses of the dissidents and give them to our respective paymasters. Wha, ha, ha!

  4. This is a good place to start. http://www.c25k.com/ If you are just starting running then you should be looking at 5km as you first big target and work your way up from there (if you want to - nothing wrong with being a 5k runner and indeed it is my favourite distance). Parkrun would be a good first event to do as it is very friendly and runs every Saturday morning at 9.30am. There are locations throughout Scotland as you can see from this link. http://www.parkrun.org.uk/events/events/ When you are ready to do your big event then the place to go to find race details is here:- http://scottishrunningguide.com/race_listings.php Finally, a half marathon is 21.0975km - so over twice the distance of a 10k. There are plenty of 10km and half marathon races in Scotland and these can be found at the last link above.

  5. This. The whole function of the thread is to document the demise (thanks, T_K) of rangers and the subsequent fall-out. Anyone who thinks this isn't still happening is deluded. Those who wail, "close the thread" might as well be saying "move along, nothing to see here". The BRALT is just one more wee fly in the ointment as they continue to try and convince themselves that the while cluster f**k didn't happen, and rangers ( ) can just carry on with their "glorious" history. Sorry, folks, it ain't gonna happen. Karma's a bitch, and she ain't finished her work down Govan way. Not by a long chalk.

  8. There has been much ado about a pizza on another football forum I read, the Lidl Inferno. So having nothing in my gaff for dinner tonight I had a light bulb moment on the Subway and darted in Lidl to get one. Jesus Christ it is hot and I eat and make hot as hell curries all the time. Burning mouth, runny nose and beads of sweat on upper lip. I got another pint of juice and was dipping the crust in mayo to get through it, ate a few ice cubes after too. I hope my arse is okay tomorrow. Here's what it looks like... Anyone tried it? Go get one, I dare you it only costs £1.29. I've got another tucked away in the freezer for a rainy day.

  9. Just watched it - very good. Sometimes Sherlock loses me as its overly complex and a bit up its own arse but that episode with the wedding was excellent. Edit - the bridesmaid wid definitely get it.

  14. I started couch to 5k in October, had two weeks off injured and I ran 5k in 35mins. Found the app helped with increasing the workload without overwhelming me. I'm running for SAMH as I was suicidal and have had a though 6 months.

  17. If it makes you feel any better, I've recently gone through the same. Only started running with them in a week ago so a bit early to be posting results, but I haven't fallen apart yet. It's for best! Quite a few folk on here have used the Coach to 5k training plan to get them started/to get back into running. Might be worth a look here as well as loads of other sites. Parkrun do weekly free 5k runs every Saturday morning. Think there are a few in Glasgow now, but others here will be better placed to help you on that. You just need to register online and pop along with your printed barcode. I've been along to the Edinburgh one and really enjoyed it. Ease yourself in. Depending on how you find things to start with, signing up for a 10k might be an idea to provide extra motivation (half marathon's 21k), but it sounds like you've plenty. Good luck

  19. Hi guys, thought about taking up running as a kinda New Year resolution. I know many people don't stick at it, but I have my reasons to get started and hopefully you guys can help me out. One of my friends committed suicide recently and I feel I would like to do a run in order to raise funds for a suicide prevention charity. Today, I walked from ASDA Toryglen to Sauchiehall Street and back again. I think it's about 6 miles. I guess it's a start. The problem I tend to have is that I can walk long distances fine, I'm ok on the cycle machine at the gym, but I find running hard and tire very quickly. Any advice on getting started and half marathons or 10ks (unless they are the same thing) I can sign up to in summer to get me going? Thanks in advance.

  24. While I am not underestimating the size of the task I think people on here are jumping the gun a bit. Morton have 17 games left and it only needs one win to galvanise a team. Dumbarton showed last year what can be done. I say lets all see what happens over the next crucial month before we make assumptions. Just my opinion, please don't judge.

  26. I hate when I'm in an unfamiliar pub/club and the toilet doors are marked with some kind of Egyptian hieroglyphics depicting men and women. I have to stand there for 5 minutes trying to interpret them so I know which door is which.

  27. I've managed to get myself a good deal where I get to tell her when the story gets too boring (its always best to be honest). We're at the stage now where she recognises in my face that I've tuned out and so apologises. Sweet. Folk that use a hundred words when ten would do are arseholes and should be made aware of said fact.

  34. Congrats well star. We had a second girl Ruby early in December. She's doing great and her big sister has been remarkably helpful and not put up nor down with the attention Ruby gets. The birth was again scary with the wife rushed back into theatre again afterwards. Really hit home since just how serious it was. Think that will be the last for us!

  36. I started running in October. I took two overdoses at the end of September, one of which could have killed me. I also had over 100 self inflicted cuts to my leg. My therapist put me on a contract of safety (shes worked with me on and off for years and if I break this contract shes cutting all contact with me which would be devastating) and I had to look at safe ways of coping with my borderline personality disorder, anxiety and depression. So I pulled on my trainers, signed up for the winter 5k and started running.....slowly. The buzz I got from completing each section of c25k and then a couple of days ago when I did my first 5k was much better and healthier than the release I was getting from hurting myself. 2014 aims: Not embarass myself a week on Saturday. 10k in May, going to run for SANDS as my friend had a stillborn a couple of weeks ago. Great Scottish 10k in October Run my bpd back into remission!

  38. Cardio weights, core work and cardio is the basis of my gym work. Here is a sample circa 40 mins workout that I do and is easily adaptable. It is all about constantly moving to keep your heart rate up. :- 10 mins treadmill - varying speeds between race pace and sprinting 30 seated bench - 39kg 40 bicycles (with 3 second hold) - killer! 40 momentum situps 30 two armed bicep curls (10kg each arm) 20 side bicep curls (10kg each arm) 30 free weight shoulder press (9kg each arm) 15 crucifixes (5kg each arm) 70 bench press (20kg bar) 20 leg elevations (sorta like situps, but with your legs being elevated to 90 degrees and then dropped to just above ground) 2 mins rope pull 300m rower challenge

  39. There is no doubt, and absolutely no legitimate argument, against any existing drug being illegal. Certainly not one as benign as marijuana. It's a failure of our political system that's its not legal, and a failure of society, really. Our prime minister admits to consuming it, yet passes laws putting those who possess cannabis in prison for up to 5 years...

  40. Remember Ally is as dyed in the wool as the rest. The KK Klan have loads of tradition and consider themselves to be full of honour and dignity. It's a truth the world over, that the ones who speak most about honour, dignity and tradition tend to belong to truly loathsome organisations. I remember an interview with Walter -Mr dignity himself- Smith, where he freely admitted to singing all the songs, when he was a young supporter on the terraces of Ibrox. He said so, as a way of playing down it's importance or relevance, 'you know, it doesn't mean anything, even I did it.' was the general jist of it. It didn't work for me, I lost all respect for him that day.

  42. Don't see how they could or should fine the newco. Any punishment belongs to oldco and as there is no point in any financial penalty, for a company in liquidation, that punishment has to be title stripping. The titles were awarded (fairly or otherwise) to the old rangers, the alleged offences were committed by them and only they should be punished for it. It would not be fair to pass any punishment on to the new rangers, they didn't even exist at the time of the alleged offences. This new club are just trying to find their way in Scottish football and have no titles as yet. They may be stubbornly trying to bask in the former club's glory, but surely, they shouldn't get fined for this. Have some compassion people please. Let's just strip the relevant titles from the old dead club (if found guilty) and leave it at that. Fingers crossed now.

  43. In no way did I state an objection to anything - don't start the deflection shite, as you've mostly been better then that, unlike many rangers posters on this thread. Morons? Harsh, IMHO. While I may not always agree with you politically or historically (Northern Europe Protestant influence, indeed), I'd reserve that description for the ill-educated and badly informed among us. I'd certainly not have put you in that category. As for a bitchfest, there were plenty of posters who were content to "play the man not the ball" - the majority sharing team affiliation with yourself, and apparently believing that this was an effective way of making everybody ignore the continuing embarrassment that is the rape of the Horde's finances. Yes, continuing - it's still going on, it's still being discussed on here, and new snippets of news crop up on a regular basis. If the local berrz would rather throw personal insults around or stick their heads in the sand, that is their prerogative. Don't go blaming the rest of us. "All things rangers"? Almost correct. All things rangers, and more importantly all things concerning the death of rangers and the shoehorning of their successors into our game, with attendant special treatment. The governing bodies have had, and will continue to receive, well-deserved criticism over this whole shameful debacle. You want this thread to return to it's former glories? I'm sure most of us do, but while you have posters like Bennett, Bendarroch and whatever wee AWRA/Batshit has sneaked back in as this time, you're really going to struggle. Why put up with their nonsense just because they claim the same allegiance as you? ETA: Sorry, forgot to thank you for the (eighteen months late) admission in your post which I've quoted. "our demise" Assuming you aren't personally dead, of course. Feel free to explain to the less-bright berrz what "demise" means.* *And yes, I am awaiting the obvious.
