  1. I'm still baffled as to why so many of them hate Turnbull Hutton? Rangers - "we want to go to the third division and work our way back up" TH - "we agree, I wish the authorities would stop trying to shoehorn them in to Div 1" Rangers - " right, you're on ra list" weird.

  2. I like the "all these chemicals put in ecstasy give you liver problems/heart problems/memory loss/blah/fucking blah" justification for keeping drugs illegal, don't you realise if it were legal the government could control it and remove all the shite that goes into ecstasy, therefore making it safer for the user. I agree on locking stoners up though, too many of them I see running through the high street at weekends, square going anyone who looks at them wrongly, smashing bottles over peoples heads, raping and pillaging women as they go. They are a danger to society.

  4. As ever people completely overlooking the fact that most medium-to-large Scottish towns are much of a muchness - there's not much to do, some shite parts, some really nice parts, and crime isn't really a big deal. The worst places to live are schemes either within cities or on the outskirts (Possilpark, Parkhead, Ferguslie, Niddrie) or shitey inbred villages in the arse end of nowhere with no escape (Fallin, High Valleyfield, Merkinch, Shortlees, Newton Stewart, etc). Other than that it's all one big cockwaving contest. "We've got a new cinema", "aye but we've got a bowling alley", "your high street is shite", etc.

  11. I think it's pretty hard to even start judging JJ like any manager as I don't think any Pars manager before has had to deal with the same financial issues he has. Possibly Macca towards the end I guess. He has done a great job in keeping the players focussed the best he can, happy to keep working hard despite the uncertainty and is clearly relishing the challenge. I don't think anybody would have blamed him for jumping ship when this all started nor if he left for a better opportunity in the future. Jefferies has been the person we needed to have in charge of the team during this time and things could have been a lot uglier had someone less qualified been in the role. As a coach and a tactician I don't think he's outstanding by any means but he's good and he' s passionate and he works his arse off to help the team be successful. What more can you ask of a Dunfermline manager?

  12. This, right here, is a very salient point. I would love for the debate to shift more in this direction in the mainstream - if politicians were pressed into putting forward a case for why a lot of recreational drugs are currently prohibited at the moment, they would crumble because there's no real justification for it. As it is, framing the question as "Should certain drugs be legalised?" allows them to peddle all manner of bullshit scare-stories and "Won't somebody please think of the children?!?!?" defenses. As you say - the onus should be on politicians justifying their current position, rather than the drugs lobby justifying legalising X substance.

  16. The thing with Johannson is I don't think he is able to play a lot of tennis without his shoulder injury flaring up. Soderling said in August he was hoping to be back for the Paris Masters, but his comeback has been further delayed. Really is a shame that both players were hindered by illness and injury heading into their peak years. Soderling has been inactive for over a year now so does not have a world ranking anymore. If he was to come back he will be hoping that Tournament directors are kind and offer a few wild cards. Tursunov, Donskoy and Youhzny all played 500 events and did not compete in the Russian side. Tursunov made the semi finals at Valencia before losing to Youhzny. Alex Bogmolov Jnr was the only player in the top 100 that played in the Russian side.and he never got entry into the 500 events. I meant to say could you name a player that actually played instead of could have played. The other Russian I had heard of was Karen Khachanov and that is only as he did well in a Russian event (made the QFs) and looking on the live score app I genuinely thought it was a man vs woman exhibition! I could not name any of the players from the Denmark, Sweden of South African teams. I have looked at their teams and the results, and I am still none the wiser.

  20. Cut down on every single business which isn't the first team so that we can put more of our turnover into being successful on the park without blowing money we don't have. This is the sole purpose of a football club.

  22. The onus in these debates is, usually, why drugs should be legalised. A case I a more than happy to forward in a comprehensive manner. What should happen more is the onus put on those who oppose legalisation to say precisely why drug users should be imprisoned, and what moral justification they have for criminalising the crime of consumption. Can marijuana be harmful when consumed in excessive quantities? Yes, although not nearly as harmful as when consuming alcohol in excessive quantities, or paracetamol in excessive quantities, or even caffeine in excessive quantities.

  25. Isn't it quite interesting how everyone who is against drug legalisation - and tacitly for the war on drugs - admits they don't know a lot about the topic and it's "just their opinion". Well, yah, because if you did know about it - that would not be your opinion. My contribution to this thread has been terrific, incredibly specific and relevant.

  26. Once I went to what I thought was a house party a friend was having in Irvine. However it turned into a night out at the local night club with a bunch of unemployed, homeless ex squadies who were all sleeping on sofas at various relatives houses and who were tanked up to the tits on Buckie. In the taxi they chanted "Fight! f**k! Fight! f**k! Fight! f**k!" like some kind of battle cry and generally acted incredibly aggressive and mental. Although not confirmed I got the distinct impression I was the only passenger in the taxi that hadn't killed before making it one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I was genuinely resigned to requiring a casualty ward blood transfusion before the night was out, if I was lucky, before I even got out the taxi. Then it occured to me that these guys were 'my friends' and there might be others just like them with less than the very small connection I had with these guys. When I got to the club, the name of which I forget, I was forced to get unbelievable tanked up myself just to get through a seemingly endless night of Survivor and Bryan Adams songs played at 2000 decibels, sexually voracious ugly slappers and a host of spilled my drink/you looking at my burd dagger carriers. Everyone was split up at the club but the squadies would occasionally bump into me and ask if I was getting "any trouble" or wanted anyone "done in". The squadies all got shags off the sisters of their last shags and disappeared leaving me on my own to deck two metal fans in leather jackets and studs who tried to rough me up at the taxi rank. What can I say, the 'spirit of the place' had latched on to me. It was only the third, and last time, I have ever hit anyone as an adult. With this in mind I nominate Irvine as the worst town in Scotland.

I love how the P&Bers are now claiming that the bloggers of whom they've copied and pasted everything they posted on here and told everyone that the bloggers had always been spot on about Rangers, have now changed their minds. Now these bloogers are now an irrelevance. You have to laugh
